We had a really great experience with Dexters, and especially with Tiger, who made the whole rental process smooth and stress-free for us. From the very beginning, Tiger was incredibly responsive, proactive, and on top of everything. He explained each step clearly, kept us updated throughout, and made what can often be a stressful process feel straightforward and well-managed. Nothing felt confusing or delayed, he was always quick to reply and happy to clarify any questions we had. Working with Joe to purchase our property (after many months of unsuccessfully trying with other agents) was a dream. He is proactive, pragmatic, extremely dedicated (working outside hours, responsive when on holiday) and ultimately demonstrates a hunger to get the transaction over the line. The most frustrating part of buying a property in London is the matters which are outside of the parties’ control. However, Joe still made sure to always proactively keep us up to date. This inspires great confidence and equally injects momentum in concluding the transaction quickly. Ultimately, if there were 6 stars available on this review - Joe would have gotten all six.

Selling a property in England is not straightforward. Example: a buyer can pull out of a transaction 2 seconds before ‘exchange’ for no reason whatsoever. Consequently, one has to rely on one’s real estate agent. My real estate agent was Dexter’s Joe Edwardson and he did a truly outstanding job in bringing both buyer and seller together - with completion of the sale just before Christmas (while being on holiday during the last week).

Ismail was really great in helping my flatmate and I find a flat to rent. The very first viewing he showed me 2 flats which were exactly what I was looking for, 1 of which we will be moving into. Other agents I’d dealt with before had often completely disregarded what my needs and preferences were. He also responded to queries promptly and helped guide me throughout the process. Can highly recommend Ismail as an agent, he was trustworthy and reliable. Only negative comment I have to say (which wasn’t Ismail’s fault) is that even after we’d signed the contract and had paid the landlord 6 months rent upfront, the landlord didn’t sign the contract for several weeks and then decided to change the length of the contract to 1 year from the previously agreed 2 years and it was clear that this was non negotiable. This was a quite off putting given that we had signed and paid 6 months rent upfront and we both thought the agreement had been totally finalised and signed by both parties. We also would not have had time to start our search again if we’re weren’t willing to drop down to 1 year which made us very vulnerable.

Amelia was an extremely unprofessional agent. Amelia repeatedly asked for the same documents during the contract-making process, which caused the entire process to be delayed. When I signed the contract, she made no mention of the office being closed and that I would not be able to get the key on the first day of my contract. She only told me after I signed the contract and I had to reschedule my move. I was cooking in the kitchen today and all of a sudden, I saw a man in my house. Turns out that is the staff for gas checking. When I check my phone, I received this message from Amelia “ Hey, some people are coming round now to do the gas safety, hope that’s okay. They have keys just in case :)” On the contract, it clearly said I would be noticed 24 hours beforehand. The guy arrived at 1:05. Amelia sent the message at 12:41. When I complained about it, what she said was “ None of the issues that have occurred I have been able to do anything about. the plumber should have knocked louder, so I’m sorry about that.” Before she gives out the key, she didn’t not try to call me at all.

Over the years I have purchased and sold a number properties but never until now have I considered the service provided by an agent to be deserving of recommendation. Manon Dechy at Dexters South Ken office is the exception that has me writing my first review. Purchasing a probate leasehold has thrown up many problems which the solicitors had to resolve but it was Manon who brought it all together. She supported her client vendor, the executors, while keeping me as purchaser informed of progress. She successfully organised a meeting of interested parties including the freeholder’s representative so that everyone received comfort as to the future of the property. Manon was always available to progress matters whenever they hit a difficulty. Her professionalism and expertise truncated what would otherwise have been a very lengthy process. My sincere thanks to her.
