My experience with Dexter was extremely disappointing. I received a parking charge while attending a property viewing arranged by your company. At no point was I informed by the agent that parking in that area would result in a fine. In fact, the agent showing the property also parked in the same location. Additionally, the landlady was present during the viewing. I specifically asked her whether it was acceptable to park there, and she clearly confirmed that it was fine and there would be no issue. Despite this, I later received a parking charge. When I contacted Dexter to explain the situation and requested assistance in resolving the matter, I was told that the company could not help and that I would need to challenge it myself. This response was frustrating, especially given that the situation arose directly from attending a viewing arranged by your team and following guidance given on-site. As a visitor attending a scheduled viewing, I reasonably relied on the information provided by both your representative and the landlady. I was not made aware of any parking restrictions, nor was I parking irresponsibly. Overall, this experience felt dismissive and unhelpful. I would have expected better communication and support from Dexter in resolving an issue that clearly arose under their arrangement. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND CHECK PARKING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU VIEW ANY PROPERTY THROUGH DEXTER ESTATE AGENT.

We couldn’t recommend Dexter’s Lee enough! They were brilliant, Rob helped us: - Sell our house before we even managed to put the pictures online. - Complete on a house with complex requirements and many beneficiaries. He was extremely responsive and helpful in both processes, ensuring the sales went through promptly and with minimal stress! Everyone at the branch was extremely polite and helpful also, stepping in for Rob while he was unavailable and had been handed off with complete information. We were very impressed with how everything was handled - the purchase of our next house was especially complex with many moving pieces, they were proactive in communicating between the various parties involved which made things significantly easier. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to sell their home.

I do not leave negative reviews lightly, but my experience with the Lee branch of Dexters was so poor that I feel a responsibility to share it openly so others can make an informed decision before instructing them. At the outset, the team was extremely attentive and persuasive in securing our business. The level of communication and enthusiasm during this stage created the impression that we were partnering with a proactive, premium agency. Unfortunately, that service disappeared almost immediately once the agreement was signed. Communication quickly became inconsistent and frustrating. Messages regularly went unanswered, updates required repeated chasing, and there was clear disorganisation within the team which resulted in duplicated requests and unnecessary confusion. Rather than feeling supported, I often felt like I was managing the process myself. The marketing of the property was particularly concerning. The listing description appeared to be little more than a generic template that failed to highlight any of the property’s unique selling points or key features. In reality, I had to step in and effectively write the description myself before it went live on Zoopla and Rightmove. For an agency charging premium fees, this level of effort was frankly unacceptable. What made matters significantly worse was that the branch was fully aware we were selling the property following the passing of my father. This was already a difficult and emotional period for our family, yet there was little empathy shown and the overall level of professionalism fell far below what anyone should reasonably expect. After only around a week to ten days on the market, we were strongly encouraged to reduce the asking price by approximately £60,000, substantially below market value. I later sold the property through another estate agent for £60,000 more. That outcome speaks for itself and left me with the clear impression that the priority here was a quick, easy transaction rather than achieving the best possible result for the client. When I raised formal concerns, the immediate response from Dexters was simply to offer for me to exit the agreement rather than address the issues or demonstrate any genuine desire to resolve them. That response said far more than any apology could have. Estate agents already face challenges around public trust, and unfortunately experiences like this reinforce exactly why. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this branch. I subsequently worked with an agent who genuinely cared about achieving the best outcome, secured a significantly higher sale price, communicated professionally throughout, and charged considerably less for doing so.

He and Dexters were very responsive and patient and were able to identify new tenants for my flat in less than 2 weeks of advertising.
