GoogleThe experience of finding the flat and securing the contract was great! Shemya was super responsive and answered all my questions. She helped fast‑track things so I could move in before a big trip, which was very much appreciated. Because of the rush, though, when I moved in the flat still had unwanted furniture and was dirty (which wasn’t the agency’s fault, but due to a non‑compliant previous tenant). That said, they were very responsive and quickly arranged for someone to remove the furniture, allowing me to move in just a couple of hours later. Would give five stars, but I’ve currently been waiting over three weeks for a faulty dripping tap to be fixed with no response so far, so still waiting to see how the management side actually is. Will update this review accordingly in the coming weeks/months.
EDIT: The lack of response was because my emails were going to junk mailbox! Going up to 5 stars as Roberta has been amazing, super responsive to all my issues and concerns and everything that needs repair has been sorted. Thank you!

GoogleShemya was been absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. She helped us find and move into the sweetest flat in Kennington super easily (the easiest house move I have ever had). She has been kind, professional and extremely helpful from day one, couldn't rave about her more! :) Thank you Shemya!

GoogleIf I could give a 6 star review, I would. I can’t recommend Brian Gibbs and Callum Brook at Davis & Gibbs highly enough. From start to finish, they’ve been absolutely exceptional in handling the sale of my flat in Oval. Their communication was always clear and timely, and they went above and beyond to make the whole process as smooth and stress-free as possible. They were proactive, professional and genuinely supportive throughout, and I always felt I was in safe hands. A huge thank you to both, I couldn't have done it without you!

GoogleShemya is a credit to the team at D&G Oval. She has been excellent at facilitating and ensuring a smooth move in process. She is a great communicator, and is really helpful and knowledgable, would recommend as an estate agent at the D&G Oval team.

GoogleI cannot believe how awful my experience with Davis & Gibbs has been. Just four days before my scheduled move-in date, I was informed for the very first time that the property I had signed for was no longer available because the landlord had decided to sell it. This was a complete shock and has left me and my friends in an extremely vulnerable position with almost no time to find an alternative home.
Throughout the process, their communication was terrible. Calls were constantly missed, messages went unanswered and there was a general lack of urgency in handling the situation. This kind of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable, especially when people’s housing plans and personal lives are at stake.
I hope others avoid going through the stress and utter disappointment I experienced with David & Gibbs.

GoogleOnly the best words about the company and especially Callum Brook, who turned to be very responsive, very helpful, very attentive. It felt like going through the process with a friend you can fully trust - every issue tackled, every note answered, best advises given. Thank you, Callum, and best of luck to Davis&Gibbs

GoogleCallum and Brian did a great job in assisting with our sale. There were several hiccups along the way but each time their problem-solving expertise shone through. They remained responsive and helpful throughout the process and my family and I are very grateful for everything they did. I would recommend.

GoogleThank you to Raymond who helped us secure our new tenancy. Raymond was efficient and clear. He was always available to answer any questions. The process of booking a viewing was so easy thanks to Raymond’s flexibility and great communication and we secured the property within the same week. Thank you so much for your time and help!

GoogleDavis and Gibbs were the worst possible property managers and estate agents. I would warn anyone to avoid at all costs. We had an awful experience from start to finish. There were huge issues with the property when we moved in, including a leak in the roof through to one of the bedrooms, many things broken, clearly not professionally cleaned. We reported them, and most of the issues were not fixed when we moved out of the property two years later. At times, serious faults happened in the property which went unfixed. Our oven broke, and they failed to get someone to fix it for over a month. There was black mould in the living room which went unaddressed for months despite us emailing consistently. Twice, people were brought round to log all of the ongoing maintenance issues, and still nothing was done to fix them. The communication was extremely poor, we struggled to ever get in touch with anyone. When they did hire individuals, they never told us in advance. On more than one occasion individuals coming to do work on the house were given keys to our property without our consent. On one occasion, the individuals with keys came into the house on a Saturday morning without warning, and knocked on my housemates bedroom door at 9am. When she asked them to leave, they never returned to finish the work. When we complained to such a level that the director of Davis & gibbs took on our property, we were always dealt with extremely rudely and with great hostility, despite the breach in our contract by bringing in contractors without prior warning. We were desperate to be out of the property to not deal with them. If I could give 0 stars I would.

GoogleI don’t usually leave reviews, however, I have just sold my flat through Davis & Gibbs and was so impressed with the service received. The process was slow which was purely down to solicitor procrastination however, Davis & Gibbs did everything they could to help speed things up going above and beyond - their professionalism and communication throughout the process was faultless. Callum in particular was extremely helpful as were both Directors, Brian and Stephen. Exceptional service and honestly cannot recommend them highly enough.

GoogleCan landlords please avoid this business, they are particularly bad and I avoid flats marketed or managed by them when looking for properties to rent.
We rented a flat which was advertised through Davis and Gibbs, the agent was Kyle Tavares. Putting aside the quality of the flat (terrible - no idea what we were thinking) and the attitude of the landlord (awful - trying to force us to pay for a new boiler) our experience with this business was really bad.
After we put an offer on the flat Kyle demanded we pay the deposit in full before the contract was signed, this is not how its meant to work you pay after the contract is signed (unprofessional). Kyle was completely out of his depth and not competent at dealing with our questions, we didn't receive a contract to sign until the day before we were meant to move in which is a bit of a joke (unprofessional and unresponsive).
When we were moving out (early as the flat was terrible) Kyle would organise viewings in less than 24 hours without asking our permission first which is not ok. He would pester us with questions which we'd already answered and then to add insult to injury he said the flat wasn't clean at the end despite Davis and Gibbs not providing the check in and check out service and refusing previous questions which would come close to that type of service.
I'm simply grateful they were only involved in the letting side and not the property management side based on the other tenant reviews here.

GoogleI was recently looking to move flats in the Oval area. The hunt was quick and pretty easy: the second flat Kyle showed us was perfect. He gave us a viewing the instant the property came on the market (I really mean that!), and processed the holding deposit as soon as we were ready to commit a couple of hours later. Subsequent steps were held up when it turned out that the entire office got Covid at the same time, but eventually all sorted fine. I felt that Kyle had a great grasp on what we were looking for in a property, and found exactly the right place several weeks before our deadline.
(There was what I presume is an administrative oversight when we received the specimen contract, which originally contained a number of provisions which are unlawful under the Tenant Fees Act 2019. I've rented through Davis and Gibbs before, and the contract was absolutely fine then, so this was probably just an error. Kyle corrected it without any fuss when prompted, but do read your contract!)

GoogleI sold my flat through this agent on a fixed fee basis and experienced poor service. It often felt as if the agent was working for the buyers rather than for me, the one paying the fee. He failed to assist with many of my queries, frequently going off on tangents instead of addressing the issues at hand, and he did not pay attention to detail. The service I received was not worth the fixed fee I paid!

GoogleSven Kuhar was brilliant when helping us find a house. Even though it didn’t work out, Sven never failed to communicate with us, and was always realistic with our expectations. Would highly recommend Sven and his team when searching for a property if you’re looking for an agent / agency with great customer service.

GoogleDavis and Gibbs is a great place to go to if you want to be handled and mistreated by unprofessional real estate agents. The way we were treated you'd think it was on purpose, but I guess treating people like trash is their preferred method of business- so five stars to them there for achieving that!
Anthony really must be confused as to what his job is as I doubt it is meant to involve harassing students over email the way he thinks it is. At first this was over us sending back signed documents to him, although, you can't even imagine my disbelief when I looked over the pages and realised that super professional agent Anthony hadn't sent over all the needed documents in the first place. Later, it got particularly intense between myself and Anthony, to the point at which my mental health was greatly impacted for months, as I would dread the anxiety that came with checking my inbox and seeing what he would say to me. Constantly being accused of keeping information from him in regards to paperwork when that wasn't true at all; when we only ever gave him the info that we knew as we learned it. He only works on his own time and has no consideration of yours; even when you do your best and constantly let him know in advance of your own timing and plans. Which is ironic, considering the majority of encounters with him that weren't at his own office he was either late himself or didn't show up. Once you get past his cheap aftershave you also get the pleasure of getting berated by or drawn into a screaming match with him as one of my housemates and another individual did- if he's even shown up to meet you. He also proceeded to lie to us about the contract length, following being told we would lose the house if we didn't sign a 2 year lease, once we met our landlord we quickly learned that they never asked for this in the first place and Anthony did that all on his own! Managing to meet our landlord for the first time was also made tricky when Anthony gave us the wrong time for check-in and then only told us the correct time with about 2 hours to spare, despite his knowledge that some of us where coming from places 4+ hours drive away and could not easily change the arrival time. Which in fabulous and typical Anthony fashion then prompted him again to think it was his place to verbally berate one of us for something that was his own mistake.
When it came time to put the house on the market again, first they gave misinformation, saying they would come over to film the house and conduct viewings this way unless absolutely necessary to do it in person. So, it was fricken fantastic when instead an agent showed up with about 4 other people, without masks to do a viewing! You'd think they would understand that asking 4 or 5 times a week to conduct viewings during a pandemic is unsafe but I guess they saw this as a nonissue. Shortly after this incident we expressed to them multiple times that we did not feel comfortable with the amount of viewings they were trying to have and how they were being done. Our request for them to back off was not taken seriously and they continued to do viewings at their leisure, the few occasions we said no or tried to rearrange, there was Anthony popping his head up, still trying to get his way despite what we said. Anything we said we weren't comfortable with in regards to viewings or otherwise was met with 'other tenants haven't had an issue with it', completely disregarding our own individual circumstances.
If your standards are as low as hell they may be able to rise to them for you but I really doubt it- as all their previous tenant reviews suggest. And if you're a student I'm certain you can do much better in finding an agency that will at least do the bare minimum by actually treating you as a client or just as a HUMAN BEING. I'd love to give them less than 0 stars, however it is worth giving them one in order to help anyone else out there avoid the great displeasure of working with them.

GoogleIn a time of uncertainty, D+G went above and beyond to make sure everything what good. I have moved around quite abit and, considering were in a pandemic, this was my easiest move ever. I dealt with Anthony after my cousin recommended him. He was great to work with. Very professional and sharp. He made sure everything was smooth for me and my daughter.
I hope we wont have to move much more, but if i did i would definitely use d+g again.

If You Are Going To Davis & Gibbs Oval I Would Strongly Recommend Anthony As He Will Explain The Process Clearly If You Are New To This & Guide You Through Making The Experience Fun & Effecient! Facebook-100 stars if possible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I'll be reporting this scam to the police, citizens advice bureau, other supporting systems and every news outlet.

We lived in an unsafe and unlivable property with a completely unsafe landlord who doesn't understand his responsibilities in contract. Davis and Gibbs take no responsibility and now he's trying to keep our deposit.
He claims everything wrong with the flat that we tried to contact him about is our fault even though they were broken and not cleaned when we moved in as Anthony stated there wasn't time. The landlord is trying to claim everything was new even though it was broken when we moved in. The mould is so severe it's a health issue to those who are asthmatic and have had operations. The mould was so bad that no mould paint quick fix will do the job. It ruined clothes, shoes, weakened cupboard doors so they'd fall off. Water on the walls in winter, you can't breathe. The only repairs the landlord fulfilled was 2 leaking issues. One cut the power to over half the flat. The other caused damage into the first bedroom. We had to stay due to lack of money. We lost days of work because he wouldn't deal with repairs himself. Mould is the responsibility of the landlord. It even damaged the beds. I'd recommend Davis & Gibbs deal with this immediately and stop letting out illegally unsafe properties with landlords who are thieves.

GoogleBeware! Avoid any property managed by Davis & Gibbs! This agency could care less about tenants. They repair nothing, stringing you along for however long they can. They go weeks and weeks without a response and then weeks more after their first response, all to essentially do nothing at all.
Shenaye is our agent and she does nothing whatsoever. We are waiting to hear from her Supervisor Chris to see if anything gets done. I will change this review if they do, but until everything is fixed, this stays.
