I recently rented a space from Arbeit spaces through David at Paynes wharf, he was very welcoming, professional and supportive. He answered all of my questions and made me feel comfortable, I really appreciated how approachable and fair he was throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend David to anyone looking for a professional and trustworthy experience, especially if you’re looking for a clean space and building to run your business from.

The warehouse burnt down and they won’t give me my deposit back!

I rented a studio space in Oxgate House. There was a fire at this studio and most of the tenants lost everything. I lost half my business due to smoke damage. The treatment of the tenants after the fire has been awful. I have emailed them 6 times asking for my deposit and rent back for the month when the fire happened. They have totally ignored all my emails. They still have my money … it’s terrible treatment, I would not recommend hiring a space from any of their units. I would appreciate if they would give me my money back and reply to my correspondence.

I would strongly advise anyone considering Artistic Spaces to be extremely cautious. The pricing I was quoted in person was completely misleading. I agreed to the space based on what I was told face to face, only to later receive a contract with a significantly higher monthly amount. When I challenged this, I was essentially ignored. Communication has been one of the worst parts of this experience. Emails were left unanswered for nearly two months, despite frequent follow ups from me. Calling them is no better, as they rarely, if ever, answer the phone. I was left in a position where I had to deal with a much higher bill than expected, with no accountability or clear explanation from their team. It honestly feels like I was misled just to get me through the door. If you’re considering this place because the price seems appealing, be very careful. What you are told in person may not match what you are actually asked to pay. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not recommend Artistic Spaces under any circumstances.

Great first studio experience

We have been renting with Artistic Spaces for two years and have had a really positive experience throughout. As first-time studio renters, they have been incredibly accommodating and supportive, making the whole process feel straightforward and welcoming. The relationship with the building manager, David, has always been friendly and approachable, and the building is very well maintained. Artistic Spaces took over our building…

Artistic Spaces took over our building almost 6 months ago and we have been very happy with them! Big issues we had been raising before AS took over got sorted soon into them managing the building. Our receptionist is a great help for any queries we may have and is always a welcoming presence as you enter the building. AS consistently asks about areas that could use improvement. The only area that would improve our experience is that any smaller issues raised would be dealt with a bit quicker. Overall Artistic Spaces have been great!

My studio burned down!

I had a studio for 5 years in Artistic Spaces/Oxgate House until it burned down on June 11th. The building had leaks, the toilets were gross, the elevator was out of order most of the time, there were burglaries, mice, and so on and so fort, but I hung in there because the space suited my needs, was conveniently located and the rent was cheap. But I never expected the building to burn down … and I lost all my equipment and artwork! I was never contacted by the owners after the fire, they have not been very forthcoming with information and I have had no replies regarding my request of getting back my deposit. Artistic spaces is a badly run enterprise and I would strongly advice against getting involved with them!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE VILE PEOPLE

I was a tenant for over 4 years, and lost everything in the fire, they havent contacted me once and no email regarding getting our deposit back, the lift was broken for nearly 2 months and they did nothing but lie about getting it fixed , we carried heavy boxes up and down and injuring ourselves in the process. Instead of looking after us tenants and keeping a good relationship with us they did the direct opposite, shame on them , stay away from them at all costs , there are plenty of work spaces around london with caring landlords, They are really quick at chasing money but are very slow giving deposits back so be aware before you sign agreements with them. They also don't do proper checks on their tenants so be aware ! The fire has left us all grieving but still no contact from them. They don't return emails which is a basic for businesses. Still so much to say on this matter, they are not Artistic in anyway , they do the cheapest renovations and i have no nice words on how they operate and i have been in business for over 22 years.

Evil Company

Before the fire happened there was an unending list of safety issues as well as other serious problems that we have emailed about several times but we never received a response back. They only seem to communicate when they want to collect money. Now that the building has burnt down due to their negligence they are continuing to ignore our emails regarding our deposits which are seriously needed considering our entire business with everything inside has burnt down which was perfectly preventable had they had any sort of fire safety inside.

Worst space ever

Worst space ever! Please don’t even waste your money. Spent so much money in that rundown studio space of mine and within a year I left. There were severe leaks, mould etc. I kept asking them to fix it, they took almost 6 months to fix only one part of the leak. The rest of the leaks, they apparently could not afford it however since I’ve been gone, they’ve managed to apparently get some works done in the studio. Only God knows what they do with the rent money. Please read into the company before taking up a space with them. They are crooks

They should rebrand as Con Artist Spaces as that what they've been doing --conning us! They've held our deposits and rent illegally. The management is laughable and absolute disgrace the way they had continued to ignore basic health and safety, hygiene and fire safety regulations. Avoid this company at all costs!!

If you only need toilet roll you’re good.

Avoid them at all costs, they only communicate when collecting rent. They didnt take the red cap off my smoke alarm for almost a year. Building maintenance was never handled quickly even when the sewage waste came into my unit.

The window in my office didn’t fully shut. The communal areas are a health and safety risk. For example, the taps in the loos barely worked, so couldn’t wash your hands. Never a conducive friendly response to any email except to demand rent payment which was scheduled anyway. Not a good company. These are a few pictures of what the building looked like while I was there.
