We had a fantastic experience with Glyn-Jones for our first home purchase. A huge thank you to Abby, who was brilliant during the viewing process - providing us with all the information we needed to make the right choice with such important step in our lives. Once our offer was accepted, Ellie was incredibly helpful throughout the rest of the process, keeping us updated and ensuring everything ran smoothly, even when things became tricky on the paperwork side. We are so happy in our new home and can’t thank them enough for their support. Without a doubt we highly recommend anyone who is looking to purchase a new home in the area to know that they are in good hands with Glyn-Jones! Many thanks from Mitchell and Sude

My experience with Glyn Jones was extremely stressful from start to finish. After viewing a property and agreeing on a move-in date, I heard nothing for over a week. When I chased them, I was told they were waiting for a landlord reference, only to discover they had entered my landlord’s email address incorrectly, causing the delay. Despite this being their mistake, I was pressured to keep the original move-in date. As a single woman arranging a move between towns, and having been the one to chase them for the error, this felt unfair. I was sent my tenancy agreement on a Thursday and pressured to sign it by midday Friday. When I explained I needed time to read a legal document due to long working hours, the lettings manager dismissed my concerns, saying it was “just a standard tenancy agreement” and expressing confusion over why I couldn’t sign immediately. When I called during my lunch break to clarify that I hadn’t had time to review it, I was told the contract was void and I could no longer have the flat. This left me upset, and I found the communication rude and demeaning. The contract was only reinstated after I contacted the landlord myself. Even then, I was informed at 4pm on a Saturday that I had just 30 minutes to sign it, an unreasonable expectation. After moving in, I experienced multiple issues: being trapped inside the building when the internal lock broke, three weeks without hot water during winter in a single-glazed flat, a leak under the sink, a stuck window, and mould in my bedroom (which other tenants also experienced). Despite multiple emails to the landlord, I received no response. On one occasion, the landlord entered the property without my permission or prior notice, which made me feel very uncomfortable. When my tenancy was renewed, Glyn Jones sent three separate contracts, all with the wrong address for my flat. In one email, the letting manager wrote that he would “kill himself” if the address was wrong again, which I found completely unprofessional. After moving out, I was informed I would not receive my full deposit back because the property was allegedly left “filthy,” which is untrue. When I requested the check-in inventory to compare, I was told the landlord was too busy to provide it. I have since had to raise a dispute with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme. Overall, my experience was unnecessarily stressful, poorly handled, and completely avoidable. I would not choose to deal with Glyn Jones again.

It is always disappointing to receive a one star review, however we do not feel this is fully justified. Reference is made about the signing of a lease that took place over two years ago, whilst further comments are made about the lack of response to maintenance requests, despite the fact that the tenancy was renewed for a further term. This dissatisfaction appears to have come to light only after the tenancy has ended and a dispute has arisen over the retention of part of the security deposit, due to a question over the cleanliness of the property. It is worth noting that we carried out a ‘Tenant Find Only’ service for the Landlord, this is not a tenancy we managed. We were not instructed to carry out an inventory or condition report and we were not involved in any on-going maintenance of the apartment once the tenant had moved in. Any delays in responding to maintenance requests are not a reflection of Glyn-Jones and Company and our management service. Furthermore, it is absolutely the case that we neither made the decision to let the flat to the tenant in the first instance nor to withdraw from that decision. This is always the decision of the client. We understand that when the decision to withdraw was made the tenant called around to the Landlord directly and persuaded her otherwise. We were pleased by this decision and took instructions accordingly. With reference to the comments made on producing a renewal tenancy with errors in the documentation, we acknowledge this took place. The first tenancy had a postcode error, the second an error in the spelling of the tenant’s email address. We acknowledge errors can be made. The comment made by a member of staff at the time was intended to be light hearted, it was self-deprecating and was certainly not intended to be offensive. We accept that it is not necessary or wise to enter into such banter with a client. It is not company policy to do so and the member of staff has been advised of this and will learn from it. Finally, the matter of the deposit is on-going, being dealt with via the TDS. It would be wrong for us to comment on this other than to point out that this dispute is between the Tenant and the Landlord. Despite the fact we did not prepare the inventory or carry out the check out, we are naturally drawn into this as the holder of the deposit and cannot apportion disputed funds until instructed to do so. We are sure that the Dispute Service will come to the right decision, whatever that may be.

My husband and I have recently bought our first home through Glyn Jones Littlehampton. Having moved in on Saturday, we wanted to leave a review to recognise the support that has been provided by Glyn Jones throughout the buying process. Ethan at the Littlehampton branch has been extremely communicative and accommodating with several viewings. Responses to emails have always been speedy and we have been kept updated every step of the way. Thank you Ethan and everyone at Glyn Jones for helping us on our journey to become the owners of our perfect first home! - Martine and Ryan :)

Wow! What can I say. Ethan was handling my purchase, and after a few false starts I decided to purchase a different Property from them. He was incredible! Totally understood my reasons and the sale etc went through extremely soundly and with no hassle. Obviously, thanks to himself. He is a credit to Glynn Jones, he is an absolute credit to to his boss, and I've no doubt will hit fantastic heights in his future career of Estate agency. I honestly cannot thank him enough. Well done Ethan.... and, thank you!

I researched estate agents in the Littlehampton area and chose Glyn Jones to sell my late parent's property - and I'm happy I did! Steve Williams initially assessed the property. During his assessment there was no pressure placed on me to market the property immediately (I advised Steve I could not place the property on the market at that time due to probate, which he fully understood). Steve was happy to visit the property again when I was ready to proceed. As I was unable to be at the property most of the time, Steve agreed the sales team would conduct viewings on my behalf and they always provided notification prior to each viewing and a review after each viewing. Elise and Ellie dealt with the majority of viewings and it was Ellie who conducted negotiations of the sale. She kept me updated of proceedings and always returned my calls if I needed to discuss any points of issue - Thank You Ellie you were brilliant! To sum up, Glyn Jones (Littlehampton) is a caring, thoughtful and friendly company to do business with. Its unlikely I will use Glyn Jones again (as I do not live in their catchment area) but if you have a property to sell in the area, I recommend giving them a try.

The service was excellent from start to finish. We had a tenant in the property and she was treated with respect and consideration. There were lots of issues with the sale but we were kept updated throughout. When things were difficult, we were reassured and supported by Steve and then Elise. Elise was brilliant at liaising with other parties who were, at times, less than helpful. She was easy to get hold of and always did what she said she would do. She was good humoured and friendly as well as very professional. I would absolutely recommend Glyn Jones in Littlehampton.

The whole process was very smooth thanks to Elise and it was always easy to get in touch with her any time when needed help, support or advice. We would whole heartedly like to thank and recommend Elise to anyone looking to buy or sell their house. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we value all reviews whether positive or negative. Upon receiving a negative review we will always treat comments constructively to see if there is anything we can improve on. You called our office yesterday in order to book a viewing on one of our vacant properties, the property was available and upon taking your details we booked you a viewing for 12.30pm today. We subsequently took a call this morning from the Landlord asking us to accept an offer to rent the property from a client that had viewed prior to your own viewing being booked; our instructions were to take a deposit and withdraw the property from the market cancelling any further viewings. We therefore cancelled a number of viewings including your own. We called you twice this morning at 10.22 & 10.23 in order to inform you that the viewing had to be cancelled, a colleague explained the situation to you but was unsure that you could hear the conversation correctly. We therefore emailed you at 10.42 in addition to our calls to inform you that the property was no longer available. In a later call we explained that we appreciated how frustrating it can be when you are seeking a property and a viewing had to be cancelled particularly when coming from out of the area to view. We did offer to come out and meet you at the property and show you around in order that you may take it in the event that the current interest did not proceed however you declined. We are sorry that you have had this experience however we are duty bound to follow our client’s instructions, we do however wish you every success with your search for a property.

Viewed a property recently that needed a significant amount of work done. I returned a voicemail left to call them back. When I did I got through to Eleanor. My offer was rejected. She was horrible like I offended her by putting in a low offer, kept mouthing off at me and kept talking about third party’s offer. I kept saying to her I don’t want to know about third party. I’m a prospective buyer talking about a number to an estate agent, let’s keep it simple and on point. She still kept talking about third party, promising me by the FCA regulated authority etc etc that she’s telling me the truth. Idk if she is like this or was taught by the company to bully prospective buyers into raising their offers this way. Not once did she ask me how high I’m willing to go, or my reasons for buying this particular property, she had zero interest in me. When my husband heard how she spoke to me even he was triggered by it and her response was “I can hear him in the background you know and I’m happy for you to put me on loud speaker so I can tell him too”. The purpose of the phone call was to increase my offer and instead of encouraging me to make it higher or find out why my new offer is only at that price, she said the third party’s in a different financial circumstance than you and is better. She compared my personal situation to somebody else. How unprofessional. My mental health was so affected after speaking with her and it made me really sad, really put me off looking at any more houses. I will definitely boycott this company in littlehampton. She’s allowed to do whatever she wants with no consequence, how can this company let her go around bullying people like that. I can’t believe how antagonistic she was and the language she was using was bullying, coercive and unprofessional. I know you didn’t give out names of the third party but she gave out a lot of their financial details to me and all she kept doing was telling me how great they were compared to me. This was my first time speaking to her. She spoke to me and treated me the way she did and expected me to over pay market price for a clapped out house. Very first rule I have in business is if the first conversation you have is antagonistic, expect every other conversation to be just as if not more antagonistic. I don’t know you from Adam, and my first impression was very negative.

We were in the unfortunate position of having to sell Mum's house because she is now in a nursing home, and will never return "home". At all times Glyn-Jones offered at excellent service and tried everything that they could to sell the property. The housing market is an extremely difficult one at the moment, and it is at times like these that you need a Glyn-Jones doing their very best to bring about a sale. Thankfully we have just completed on the sale. Sadly the monies achieved will go straight to paying care home fees, but such is life !!. In summary, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Glyn-Jones.
