Their lettings team is useless and expensive

I can’t speak to the Freeman Forman sales team but my experience with their lettings team in Heathfield was terrible. I hired them to manage a property several hours away while my late husband was ill and I couldn’t manage or visit the property myself. They charged me an exorbitant amount for this service each month and I have nothing to show for it but a trashed house in need of thousands of pounds of repairs. They let to terrible tenants who ruined the house and garden, but even worse, Freeman Forman neglected to do an end of tenancy inventory so I couldn’t keep the tenant deposit to offset the cost of repairs. One of their letting agents even admitted to me that they dropped the ball. But of course Freeman Forman did nothing to make things right for me or take any financial responsibility for their mistakes and poor service. They are either incompetent or sleazy or both. Avoid Freeman Forman lettings, it’s an expensive rip off!

Fantastic Tonbridge Team!

The team at the Freeman Forman office in Tonbridge, Kent sold my flat. A massive thank you in particular to Megan for being brilliant throughout this process. It was really tricky with the property management company AB Canham, but throughout all this Megan was unwaveringly professional, patient, positive and reassuring and she kept the buyer engaged and on-side, preventing the chain from collapsing. Our first rental

My partner and I recently viewed a rental property in Hampden Park, Eastbourne. Stephen was showing us the property and he is the BEST. I met with him a few days prior and he took all my details and immediately found us a property that fit our requirements. He answered all our questions, was very thorough, and let us have as much time as we needed inside the property. As soon as we got home, he took the time to e-mail us with a follow up. 10/10 service from Stephen and if you’re looking to rent, I 100% recommend going in and having a chat with Stephen at the Freeman Foreman office on Terminus Road. Freeman Forman Lettings in Eastbourne were happy to take the 10% management fees for 20 years when we let our property out through them, but when our tenant decided not to pay the rent anymore they were suddenly very unhelpful, they knew this was crippling us as the interest on the mortgage had shot up and with no rent coming in we were struggling.

Tactical bullying border lining illegal & corrupt liars

Claire and Rebecca what a tag team (Criminal really)Prior to my offer being accepted on a property on Heathfield Road i was basically forced by Claire (Who was dealing with the purchase) into speaking with Rebecca (Their Own Mortgage Broker) I had my own broker already and advised that i could send my mortgage in principle agreement across, however i was told by Claire that the seller would only consider my offer if i was approved by their own broker first, as this would help strengthen my offer, so I spoke to Rebecca. Received a call from Claire advising that the seller had accepted my offer and congratulated me and requested my documents which I uploaded on to two portals.I also received a call from Rebecca congratulating me. All was going well, my property so I thought, until I advised that I had chosen to use my own broker. The next day i received a call from Freeman Forman (Countrywide) office, advising that the seller has now accepted another offer and whole heartedly decided to go with the buyer and that an increased offer from myself is not an option. I was originally told the other offer was not proceedable and the seller preferred my position which is why they accepted my offer and put Sold STC on Rightmove at Midnight on the 24.05.23 following my offer being accepted.Basically, because I didn't use the Freeman Forman (Countrywide) internal broker the seller promptly changed their mind and accepted another offer from someone who was not proceedable. This is poor practice, disgusting, unprofessional and embarrassing behaviour, all because i used my own broker. I hope the seller did get more money but in truth they probably got told that i pulled out of the purchase.Contacted the seller and as thought they were unaware that i was told that i couldn't increase my offer. Oh dear. so if you dont use a Freeman Forman (Countrywide) Broker the deal doesn't happen. They also requested money upfront for info. I await an email response but won't hold my breath, i have to do this before reporting these companies to The Property Ombudsman.Manager Greg is also a liar just so that people are aware, trying to cover up for his team and blatantly lying. So unprofessional.

The most helpful estage agents!

Freeman Forman in Uckfield helped me move into my new apartment. Thank you to Anna, Jack & Janice for showing me moving house doesnt have to be stressful! I went from an aweful experience from one of their competitors to dealing with the a stress free team that always kept to their word. From the beginning of collecting my keys to the handing of them over they helped with every situation, always got back in a timely manner, and are the kindest people to deal with for moving house. The landlord was the sweetest lady, leaving me cleaning products and extra bits ready for my tenancy. They were also very understanding when I advised I would have to end my contract due to the cost of living crisis. I will definately be returning for help with hopping on the mortgage ladder. Highly recommend these guys.

What ever you do - do not got to Rebecca the mortgage advisor!! We went to her last year to renew our mortgage. She kept pushing for us to pay £600 for this scheme where we don’t pay any fees for future mortgages. We paid. A week later she’s telling us she can’t get us a mortgage! She would ignore all our calls and emails. So we decided to go independently and got our mortgage straight away! We continued to contact her for our £600 back as we received NO SERVICE from her to which she kept ignoring us! My partner has been going backwards and forwards with someone her office for around a year now ,who also agreed this was wrong, has now told us they’re not giving us our money back! Might I add we are two grieving parents that had not long lost our child at that time and she knew and met them the last time we’d met her. Praying on the vulnerable and conning them out of their hard earned money! Absolutely disgusting you should be ashamed!

Fantastic service from start to finish.Stuart Smith was just amazing and we couldn’t have done it without him.I was helping my elderly parents sell their home from 500 miles away to move up with us. Stewart’s help was invaluable. We requested viewings by open day and it was done. Stuart stayed all day and was such a support to my elderly and slightly confused parents. Everything was explained to them fully. Stuart was literally on hand from marketing to completion. He drove miles out of his way on many occasions to assist with paperwork.. Thank you to the whole Freeman and Foreman team for your professionalism and for all the little extras you did for us.

The most awful experience with Freeman…

The most awful experience with Freeman Foreman. I had to spend thousands of pounds to renovate my property because of bad tenants and very poor management! I went through the courts to evict the tenants and ended with thousands of arrears that were not managed since 2020.

Basically the agent in the branch in Tonbridge just lies to us all the time. We bought a flat from them, agreed the price with the seller and started the buying process then all of a sudden another offer is made through another . Then we don't hear any more and for the last week they don't answer my messages or call back. We don't know if we have the flat or not, presumably not but they haven't told us anything. They are an awful company so beware. I am disgusted with their attitude.

Mis-Sold on the property.

Mis-Sold on the property. We were told the property was a freehold property however once our solicitors reviewed the contacts we found out the property didn’t come with title or deeds to the land. In other words we’d be buying some very expensive bricks with no way of reselling the property. We pulled the offer and logged a complaint only to be told it was not Freeman Foreman’s responsibility to know if the property came with title and deeds and that they were actually free to advertise the property as they wished.

Complete disregard for people trying to…

Complete disregard for people trying to buy a home. Never reply to emails even when I contacted another branch to avoid talking to a specific sales agent as we was not getting any response from “Jena” I asked to speak to a new agent as the lack of response from them resulted us in losing the home we wanted I couldn’t be more disappointed in this company. My mortgage broker never got reply’s totally unprofessional was his words. Good luck to anyone who has to deal with them.
