If you are thinking of buying, selling or letting a property in the Letchworth Garden City area, please be aware that Lane & Bennetts are a dishonest and borderline fraudulent agency.
They will be all smiles and politeness, then steal your money behind your back, and blame it on everyone else.
Please please, help stamp out illegal and immoral behaviour by estate agents by exercising your consumer rights not to deal with dishonest cowboys like Lane & Bennetts.
Fortunately, there are plenty of other estate agents in the North Hertfordshire area.

GoogleI was recently upset by a very rude experience with one of Lane and Bennetts agents (who claimed to be a partner). As he swanned around my house, as though it were his and not mine, he made flippant and rude remarks.
At one point he pulled a camera from his bag and without any indication just said: "Get out of the way, mate". This for him taking a photo in my house without him even being invited to do so.
Once we received the valuation he placed on the house it was quite clear that he didn't know the area and was not really aware of a property's true value. We had many other valuations and his was over 15% away from what the average of the others were.
Despite his appalling attitude his suggested fee was the most of any agent we spoke to.
My advice would to be very wary about using Lane and Bennett, especially in the North Hertfordshire region.
