GoogleWe moved into our Barratt home over 3 years ago and like most have probably experienced, you are the most important person in the world for about a month before being entirely forgotten about during the snagging process unless you are willing to spend your precious time chasing it up on a daily basis.
On the topic of being forgotten about, we are selling and it has come to our attention that after living in our house for OVER 3 YEARS, Barratt have never sent documentation to the council to allow an inspection/completion certificate to be created, including not sending a form 5 or electric/gas test certificates.
Barratt are in they are in breach of contract and are professionally obligated to provide the necessary testing certificates to the council, we actually got responses from Glasgow City Council unbelievable much quicker than Barratt who at first passed the blame to Glasgow City Council.
Now that the blame is clearly with Barratt, we are being ignored and nothing is being done thus this review. We are in the process of taking legal action.
I would encourage anyone in a Barratt home to chase this up and anyone considering purchasing a Barratt home to consider their negligence before making their decision.
It is not legal to occupy a new build home in Scotland without a Completion Certificate
