Rory, the Sales Director in the Clapham South branch, is an absolutely magician. Not only he’s genuine, polite and professional, he managed to get 5 offers in for me within a week of listing the property! I’ve been buying and selling in the past decade but using other estate agents and none of them achieved the results that Rory did. Rory has local expertise and is able to think commercially to achieve the best outcome for his clients. Highly recommend Rory to anyone looking to sell in the area.

We started off with a fairly straightforward sale and after a couple of low offers (no pressure to accept), we found a buyer, and Fergus helped us navigate the best-and-final-offers process on a new house. We had to start again when our buyer pulled out but Fergus helped piece everything back together, kept things moving through further complications down the chain, and got us over the line. We'd used a small local agency before and were slightly wary of going more corporate, but Dexters were responsive, professional and solution-focussed when it mattered. We've now moved and would definitely recommend them.

Can recommend!

Monika has been managing my flat for rent for the last year or so. She has always been friendly, responsive and proactive, communicated regularly by email and by phone and I have been able to feel the flat is in good hands. Recently we've had some issues with damage coming from the flat above and she has gone the extra mile to chase the managers of that property so that the damage can be repaired. I'm very grateful to her!

Unfortunately I had a leak at my flat which I let out through Dexters. Monika has been incredibly efficient in resolving this - chasing the managing agent to find the cause of the leak, following up and arranging for it to be fixed and then looking into redecoration which needs to be claimed on the buildings insurance, as well as liaising with and reassuring the tenant and keeping me informed. She has been a pleasure to deal with and I am really impressed by her efficiency, reliability and tenacity.

We have had the best of experiences with Dexters Estate Agents in Clapham. We sold our flat in Brixton with them, and it has been the smoothest experience imaginable. Rory is a master at reading the market value of a property and was so accurate in his estimation I almost want to ask him for his predicted lotto numbers! And Jake Smith has been just fantastic. Brilliant communication and always kept both us and our buyer updated on the latest information. Our sale has moved at breakneck speed guided by his diligence and good management. I've bought and sold via Dexters as part of the same transaction back in June 2024. It was a painstakingly tough transaction with the selling of my flat spanning three years with several unlucky situations of buyers pulling out buying my flat... eventually striking lucky with number seven. They have been professional throughout, knowledgeable with the property landscape and relentless in continuously finding me a buyer each time and always very quickly. Also worth adding they found me a fantastic family home and helped with keeping that deal alive despite those fall-throughs with my part of the chain. Thanks Rory, Jake and the team in general for making it work! If you ever find a more unlucky seller than myself then I would trust this team to get it over the line for you. Period.

Recently I had an issue with an appliance at one of my rented properties, Nabil Subhani dealt with back and forth between his maintenance team, the tenant, the insurance company and directly with me. In all the time. Dealing with the matter, Nabil was responsive to all matters in an extremely efficient and timely way. His communication was clear and to the point and the matter was progressed efficiently despite the fact that that too many people were involved he stayed at the centre of communicating with all parties concerned.

Very sloppy service from Dexters

Very sloppy service from Dexters. Missing attachments to emails, forgetting to send information, incorrect information was sent.At check-in, they didn't even give us the right keys.... Sloppiness was a constant through the process....The house was very very dirty, despite it should have been professionally cleaned by contract. There was mold, dust, dead insects.... Lots of furniture was broken or not fixed. We are not sure if the landlords were informed at all at this point.Another red flag is that the agents try to lock tenants in very long contracts, a new trend with many companies. They didn't pressure as much as others, but still, they create this constant sense of urgency for the tenants.... then they disappear for days and need constant follow-ups.Do not recommend.

Absolutely 5* for Dexters on Abbeville road, especially Jake who initially showed me around what is now my home and then helped tremendously with the process. Mike was also on hand to support my purchase and guide it through to completion, driving things forward over the usual hiccups which were mainly to do with the sale of my previous address. Proactive communication and empathy

Proactive communication, empathy and transparency are three core values I have seen demonstrated at Dexters. I have rented a home through them for nearly two years, and they have stood out as property managers that actually care. Most recently, Daragh Power has impressed me with their kindness and genuine care. I had two requests of the landlord, one that would require a change to my contact, and Daragh was AMAZING at listening to my needs, understanding the time sensitivity and following up with the landlord when we didn’t receive a response right away. They could have deprioritised my concerns or have gotten upset with my persistence but instead they understood where I was coming from and really advocated for me. This is exactly what one would want from a property manager, but is something I find is rare, especially in a ‘landlord market.’ Daragh communicated professionally throughout and made the entire process stress free. I wouldn’t choose another property manager besides Dexters.

I had a fantastic experience with Dexters Clapham Estate Agents, especially after a not-so-great encounter with another agency. The Clapham team was proactive and highly motivated in selling my flat, managing to secure many viewings and ultimately finding a buyer in record time. John was clear from the outset about the target and the steps we needed to take, and the team followed through excellently. A special shout-out to Grace, who did an outstanding job of bringing in numerous potential buyers. Her proactive approach really stood out. Fergus was incredible in securing the final buyer. Vote for worst estate agency of the year

This review is in particular for Dexter's Lee.If you think all Estate Agents in Lee are the same,then Dexter's Lee is definitely different. very different,in fact they could contend for the worst estate agency in England. I would highly recommend to anyone buying or selling through Dexter's Lee to contact me. The team, and in particular the sales team are money oriented. They will provide all sorts of distorted facts to make you list their property through them and whilst buying ,all sorts of lies without any moral conscience will be told. Their costs are higher than other than other estate agents who provide a far more personal service. This agency strives on the Dexter's brand but having dealt with Dexter's in other parts,I can easily vouch that they are the worst and most unprofessional. Please do your research before listing your property,buying and even thinking of renting out through them. They will completely ignore any of your requests or their duties as long as they can make their commission. As stated I am ready to help and discuss in more detail on why to avoid this agency

Jake Smith did a great job supporting our home purchase. The process was complex, with a long chain. Jake is different to many other agents we have worked with - he is able to think creatively, problem solve. He pushes you when required but importantly does not push when he knows you are doing everything you can to progress. He thought more broadly about the overall parts of the transaction which did not directly involve dexters but were critical to making the sale happen. Finally, after we had exchanged, Jake organized a number of viewings for us and our daughter which helped us a lot. He did not have to do this.

Dexters said what they were going to do. Then they did it. Sale agreed promptly then completed as was put onward purchase. We found the whole team - particularly Grace Mellard & Jake Smith - helpful, kind, patient and pleasingly straight talking. The sale was overseen by Rory Crawford-Drake who was similarly excellent. No one (I assume) wants to sing the praises of estate agents - but we can honestly say Dexters were very very good & we’d recommend them.

---"I had a profoundly disappointing experience with Dexter Lettings Agency in Clapham South. From the outset, the service was lacking in professionalism and transparency. My initial inquiries were met with delayed responses, and when I finally managed to speak to someone, the information provided was often unclear or incomplete.The problems only escalated once I signed the lease. The property was not in the condition promised; there were several maintenance issues that were either ignored or inadequately addressed. Despite numerous attempts to contact the agency for repairs, I received little to no follow-up. The lack of urgency and responsiveness was frustrating and unprofessional.The final blow was the handling of the move-out process. I was charged excessive fees for minor damages that were either pre-existing or were the result of normal wear and tear. The communication during this process was particularly poor; I had difficulty reaching anyone who could provide a satisfactory explanation or resolution.Overall, my experience with Dexter Lettings was marked by poor customer service, lack of accountability, and hidden fees. I would strongly advise prospective tenants to look elsewhere for a more reliable and customer-oriented letting agency. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I cannot recommend Dexter Lettings based on their service."

Daniel's customer service is great

Before Daniel F joined the team I struggled a bit with Dexters (hence the 3 stars). Often things would not be done, people wouldn't log when there had been a visit to my flat so more would be booked in and there were lack of updates at times which felt frustrating. However after dealing with Daniel F it feels like things are changing for the better and if I had always dealt with Daniel I would prob give Dexters a 5 star rating. Great customer service, always keeps me informed and gets things moving which I really appreciate!

Can really recommend Jake and Garry, who were both instrumental in us finding and securing our new place. Jake helped us find the property, and was one of the best agents we dealt with in what had been quite a lengthy search process. Garry has helped us since in exchanging, and was able to support our efforts in aligning different solicitors and teams.
