Lack of communication, unethical and unprofessional Practices

I had a very disappointing experience with [Agency Name]. I initially booked a viewing for a flat that was on sale, only to find out the appointment was cancelled because the flat was sold, and they forgot to inform me.Giving them another chance, I booked a viewing for another property. However, they insisted that I use their mortgage advisor even though I already had one and an Agreement in Principle. When I refused to change my mortgage advisor, they immediately cancelled my viewing appointment. This kind of behaviour is unprofessional and unethical. I would not recommend this agency to anyone.

We were told about countrywide when our current mortgage advisor had failed to even get us an AIP, we thought we weren't going to be able to get a house for months maybe years due to this and were really disheartened until we were referred to Chris Sanders at Bridgfords, within 48 hours he had an AIP for us above what we even thought we would get and has been on call for any questions or queries (and there were a lot being first time buyers) I could not recommend him any higher due to how comfortable we felt with him and how quickly he worked and now we have an offer accepted on a house when we'd pretty much given up all hopePositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

My mum was informed that her house would be cleaned and decorated prior to moving into her rental property. Instead, after being asked to pay a year’s rent in advance, she was given the keys to a house which had not been decorated, was damp, extremely dirty and in a poor state of repair. When asked to address these concerns, the agent said it wasn’t her fault and walked out leaving my mum with keys to an unfit property and nowhere else to go having sold her home through Bridgfords the same day. I am appalled at the way my mum had been treated and lack of professionalism shown by the letting team. What shameful behaviour.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Illegal practices! Referred to the Property Ombudsman because contract was completed by manager, Tammi, and not ourselves, meaning we incurred hundreds of pounds of additional costs. Additional problems included; no marketing of the property, little, if any, communication. Should have gone to any of the other local estate agents.

Awful service and expensive fees. Landlords should use someone else.

Been with Bridgfords for a few months and cant really give positive feedback back on any part of their service. They are slow to respond, aggressive and generally useless. Their service centre is completely separate from the lettings team which results on breakdown in communication and poor service. They are great at selling their service to entice you in then run a mile once you are signed up.

They will call you in and tell you to speak to their mortgage advisor who then tells you that he can get you the property if you sign up with them for £660+ non refundable, he will use their own solicitors too. My wife and I asked what about the other bidders and he said, the vendor won’t see those bids don’t worry. This is completely illegal and we walked away, he then said you are willing to walk away from this deal and get outbid. I said yes I would rather lose out on 20k than give you one penny. It’s kickbacks galore in that place and we know full well we will now not get that property. I would love to speak to the person selling the house but they have moved abroad and left these clowns in charge.

Extremely disappointed with the service. We were looking to rent a property in Knutsford and had booked it on the condition that the carpets would be cleaned. Neither are the carpets cleaned nor the property. Their inventory report mentions that the property was cleaned at an average standard. However there are stains everywhere on the floor, paper pieces in the cloak area and strange smell coming from the bathroom which suggests that the property was not cleaned at all. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

We know that we can call on them at any time if we have questions or queries and will get an informed response. The team are quick to action a property for rent when it becomes available and we are always confident that they will be thorough and honest through the vetting process. Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.
