TrustpilotTERRIBLE
TERRIBLE , DONT BELIVE THEYRE LIES. They will do anything and bee nice till they get your signature, and then you will see that nothing is like it was suppose to be. i got keys to the house and without no agent waiting for me at the property, change the place for taking the keys 10 times, inside the house a lot damage and rats underneath the floor. They take like months to do anything and do as little as possible. STAY AWAY FROM THEM

TrustpilotAbsolutely awful - Do not use.
Absolutely awful. Do not use. They charge for everything and the invoices do not make sense (so you can't keep track). They use the 'float' without telling you and then charge you for it.Gettin uptodate accounts is a nightmare - apparently only available once a year...The house wasn't inspected every 6 months (due to Covid) but they still charged for it.I disagreed with their check out report - damage to the property was not listed in the report... I sent pictures. They said they'd look into it which translates as 'do nothing' and then say they disagree as it wasn't in their report...?

TrustpilotTERRIBLE DO NOT USE WILLIAM H BROWN
They have harassed us at every turn. Every month without fail they claim we haven't paid rent when we have. They haven't fixed our broken FRONT door and its been MONTHS that its been completely unusable. They send people round to do random jobs around the house WITHOUT telling us (including in a pandemic!!!!!!! Are you insane!!!!!) They are SO SO UNHELPFUL. when we complain about things they dump the blame on someone else and no one, not one single person can sort a thing. They are useless. Worst experience with an estate agent I've ever had. Do not use WHB.

TrustpilotTerrible
Dear Sir/Madam,I am writing to complain about Rob Jones. About 10 days ago I visited your Grays branch in relation to get a new mortgage. Rob came outside we had a brief chat he told me to reply to his email with the required documents. After our brief conversation he asked for my payslips covering past 3 months. I stayed all night to carry out that task. I sent whatever he asked for. He didn’t reply as he promised. I therefore next day returned to your Grays branch and stood outside for a few minutes while he was too busy ignoring my presence, a young lady came and asked if she could help. I asked her to pass the message to Rob to phone me. He never phoned me, once I rang him and left voicemail and other times I only rang but didn’t always leave a voicemail. This afternoon I visited your Grays branch, Rob came outside to tell me he has been really busy between appointments and didn’t get time to carry out his work for me. What right does he have to waste my time . This is terrible service. If he had no time why did he waste my time as well. This is insulting and I am going to complaint about this.Gurprit Kaloya

TrustpilotAbysmal service to landlords!
Abysmal service to landlords. Staff don't communicate with each other, quotes they obtain for repairs are excessive, in one case twice what two local contractors quoted. They can never manage things without our involvement and take months to resolve matters. Left us without a gas safety certificate because of their failure to observe deadline. Make incorrect deductions from rent and try to sneak through hikes in their charges without prior arrangement. Repeated promises that the service will improve are baseless. Just totally inadequate in all respects - find someone else to manage you property!

TrustpilotTerrible customer service
I was repeated called, texted and emailed by Adele at the pontefract office to sell my home with them in their Boxing Day sale. I did message to say I had sold my property and did they have any houses coming up in my area to buy up to £300k - zero response. A perfect house came up for sale with them in our area on the Boxing Day sale but was also up for sale with Strike and they could not be bothered to tell me so guess who sold it Strike!

TrustpilotConcerning lack of accuracy
We attempted to purchase a property through the Swaffham branch which was described as having equestrian facilities. The property turns out to be subject to various undisclosed restrictions and clauses that prevent its use for keeping horses. After we pulled out of the purchase and disclosed these issues to WHB, the property was re-marketed without any amendment to the listing. We presume this is a deliberate attempt to mislead future buyers into thinking this is a viable equestrian property.

TrustpilotLet down with no explanation.
I called to book a valuation, arranged for 3 days later. After waiting half hour I called to check arrival time. They said they had no record of it (yes, definitely right company). That's it. No apology, no offer to rearrange. Will take my business elsewhere, not a great start if they can't even schedule an appointment.

TrustpilotAbsolutely awful
William H Brown don’t even deserve the one star I gave them. They had our property on the market for 20 weeks and couldn’t care less about selling it. They are totally useless - negative when showing people round, the photographer they use is awful, they sent round people that were obviously not the right type of person - I could go on and on. Moved to Richard James and they sold it in less than a week.

TrustpilotThis estate agents are by far worst I…
This estate agents are by far worst I have come across...they have absolutely NO back office...selling the house is one thing but how they manage the sale after that it quite simply dreadful..the lack of communication..total and utter negligence in handling forms ..they are truly all over the place and have cost me thousands in interest payments..they recommend cheap paralegals to the buyers to handle the legal side of things and its only at the last moment a solicitor actually looks at the case and then comes up with an abundance of new enquiries which causes huge delays...1 of my buyers took 13 weeks to get a survey..another had waited so long had to ring the mortgage company themselves to found out the bank had been trying to get hold of whb broker for 3 weeks!! To confirm a simply address...another buyers help to buy form took 6 weeks to get right..and on and on the failings happened!! every single one of my buyers did not have one good word to say about this outfit ..not one! They simply cannot manage the aftersales if you do anything this year DO NOT use this office it will cost you money in the long run there are plenty of good reliable estate agents out there that keep you updated ..track all paperwork ..acutely fill out forms..and more importantly spend the time to make sure forms have been recieved and are correct all the stuff you would expect from a professional company of which this is not!..trust me when I say this they have cost me 1000s in interest payments due to negligence and My company will NEVER use them again you have been warned!Steve StindersCeo Stinders Construction ltd

TrustpilotI used William H brown to sell my flat
I used William H brown to sell my flat but Unfortunately they only managed to generate 1 viewing in 3 months. No logic explanation to lack of viewings and no feedback on how and what could be changed to generate viewings. Communication broke down and it felt like they had exhausted all interest in my property. I gave my 28 notice and within a week the area manager called me to discuss why I was unhappy and frustrated. This ended with if we remove your property from today will you be happy. I made it clear I wouldn’t be happy but thought it was best if my property was removed so I could moved forward and get a new agent onboard as the trust and faith off the branch had gone. When I mentioned the reviews overall where majority negative the answer given was they go by google reviews and all large organisations get negative reviews. My advice is use with caution if using Connells or William H Brown as they are both part of the Connells group and I have experienced a poor service from both of them.If they offer you the package for professional photos, floor plan and a premium listing on right move be advised the premium listing only lasts 7 days which was never explained once to me. The only positive which came out of this was in house mortgage advisor was the best and got me a great remortgage deal and always went out of her way to help and give good honest advice.

TrustpilotThe Perfect Match
It was always going to be a long journey trying to purchase our first home amidst all this pandemic and economical uncertainty. However, with God and William H Brown Grays at our side we managed overcome what seemed to be a pretty tall order. Debby B especially was amazing. She didnt just try sell us any old house, rather she matched us the perfect property for us. These are the things we really appreciate. For her it wasnt just a sale but it was about the right Sale.

TrustpilotProbably the worst experience i have…
Probably the worst experience i have had buying houses. If you are a seller that want toi was told offer was not accepted one day, next day i received a call saying to send my document as my offer was accepted before and encouraged to use solicitor through sequence (solicitors who are not responsive, ignore emails and never reply back to you) while, all these was going on. i receive a further call that the seller was ringing everyone who has viewed the property to give their final offer. Why would you let me engage your solicitor or told me my offer was accepted when you are still in the bidding stage? I will try avoid this agent every opportunity i get. surprise to see that the same offer i gave is what is being paraded as what the b=property is being sold for online £47k if it is, then this is borderline fraudulent and not getting the person who is being repossessed the best chance.also when i made my complain known, The lady who address my complain made no effort whatsoever to understand what aspect i was not happy about (i was unbothered if you get a higher offer as when it comes to corporate sales thats the goal). i was not pleased with the service provided.

I sold my house recently in West Yorkshire - the process, in having my house valued to it being placed on the market, arranging viewings was seamless. WH Brown ensured they took care of it all. All viewings were vetted and I was kept up to date as much as I needed. The sale of my house was quick and I was supported by the branch manager in the purchase of my new home in a different part of England. Michelle and Louise are an asset and I would highly recommend W H Brown to both sellers and purchasers.

TrustpilotPossibly the worse letting agents in the world
I'd give them zero stars if that were an option. The letting agents are two-faced, unreliable, dishonest, unpleasant, and only out for money. They are thoroughly nasty human beings. They change your energy supplier to one they prefer (without your consent) and tell your current supplier that you're leaving them. Then you are charged at the highest rate and they won't sort the problem out. That's just ONE of the many, many, many problems with them. AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!

TrustpilotWilliam Browns Hull …
Terrible service if there was an option for minus stars would use DO NOT USE worst service I have ever received would never choose this company again and strongly recommend others not too. Myself and my partner paid out £600 for their services to help purchasing our house they did nothing we chased them up. They blamed Covid over the whole thing utterly not an excuse for incompetent and unprofessional service heard from others they have had similar experience judging by this they won’t be in business much longer .

TrustpilotI must say I have never rented before…
I must say I have never rented before and thought william h brown would be a great company to rent through as you not only get the place you want but a great support network, how wrong was I the staff are rude and not helpful when i phoned up about things not working like the shower not working I get told it's nothing to do with us you have to call the maintenance department so I call them they then tell me we have to phone the landlord, so I said ok well I am disabled and can not actually have a bath so a shower is a must , 5 weeks later shower still not fixed I phoned them every day and was told have not got hold of the landlord to which i told them u paid you my rent so why dont you just fix it and bill the landlord no we can not do that I was told so after 5 weeks of having strip down washes I had had enough and complained to there main office in Birmingham which was sequence homes, they finally got someone out to me the next week, but I am still waiting for 10 other jobs to be done , do not rent through William h brown the staff are rude and unhelpful I have asked for a refund of the rent I paid upfront and I would move out as the place is that bad but they just ignore me so I would never rent from this company ever and would suggest others to go elsewhere . Very unprofessional.

I have used William H Brown for letting for the last year and I’m appalled at their customer service! You never get to speak to the same person twice and when you do most of the staff are incompetent and at times rude. The only thing they are good at is charging for their service . I literally have got to the stage where I can’t phone them anymore and as for renting a house THEY have really put me off.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESSAs a purchaser, wanting to view properties in the area, I made this mistake with the scunthorpe branch and got no end of marketing emails and rubbish despite me making quite clear initially that i did not want them. It took 3 attempts to get them to stop and remove me from their system, as you can imagine the 3rd email wasn't so polite.Would not entertain now or in the future .

TrustpilotSHAMBLES from start to finish.
SHAMBLES from start to finish. We were renting tenants with William H Brown and in short here are some of the issues we faced:-Only sent us extra forms to fill in days before we were due to move in-Apparently needed to know every detail from every inch of our lives in the application period. We're both are in full time permanent employment and that's all you should need to require.... is my partners military ID number and references from high ranking officers really necessary ??- Had to get contents insurance and prove this paperwork to them, but only with providers they wanted to work with....-A branch 20+ miles from the house was handling the process and expected us to pick up keys from there even though there's a WHB branch less than 1 mile from our home? -We had a few queries regarding the house after moving in; light not working in the fridge etc and were told we contacted the wrong person as it should go through the maintenence team. Which makes perfect sense, but they might need to advise us of that in the beginning....-We had been in the house a few days when no payment plan for rent was set up. I contacted them and queried this and discovered that they should have actually sent us forms to set up these payments. How long could I have left it before they asked where their rent money was ?.....-We had our landlords contact details as they came a couple of times to collect post so we knew who they were/had met them. They contacted us privately one day to advise us the WHB had put their house ON THE MARKET by mistake, and to ignore anyone trying to view the house that weekend as they even had viewings booked!!!!......-Not knowing all the details but we know they messed the landlords around on numerous occasions and charged them extortionate fees for absolutely no service ?-We had an inspection booked around 8 months after being in the house. Pretty sure these should be every 6 months? I received a text from them 20 minutes before they were due to arrive cancelling the inspection. I'm a very tidy and clean person, but of course with an inspection due we cleaned and tidied to ensure everything was in order FOR WHAT? Plus the inspection was lunchtime on a Saturday so the whole day was pretty much wasted.-After the year was nearly up the landlord (and ourselves) were so extremely frustrated with every aspect of the process that they asked us if we wanted to carry on living in the house and go privately. WHB made it extremely difficult to end the contract even though it was just a 12 month contract. Even a third party company contacted us asking for arrangements of handing back keys and what state to leave the house in. It was also extremely difficult to get our deposit back even though the landlord said they had done inspections and were happy to released the deposit back to us. -Communication is diabolical. I have numerous emails as evidence of WHB hardly ever responding. The only time they would reply would be when the subject was regarding something that they wanted to know or benefitted from. When it came to extremely important information i.e returning my deposit they elongated the whole process to be as difficult as possible.

Absolute waste of time, full of lies never get back to you and are total chancers. I would never recommend than to anyone they didn’t have a clue about nothing and it seemed as though I was doing there jobs for them. I feel sorry for the people that are using them to sell there houses as the staff have no interest what so ever, they turn up to to viewings and forget the keys they re arrange ad don’t bother showing up. It’s a shame that the builders had to give them anything as they done nothing to sell the house just listed it online. I ended up meeting the developer himself in the end who was a lovely person and very helpful unlike William h brown
