Can’t fault English Rose. Excellent communication throughout. When we first met Julie we felt at ease, she wasn’t pushy at all, just straight to the point. Once we agreed to sell with them she quickly arranged for photos and the listing was on the next day. There was even a sneak peek on Facebook the same day as having the photos taken! They are a small team so you feel like they get to know you and are invested in selling your property. They kept up with sharing on social media to make sure we kept getting interest. Whenever I called up and said who I was they’d know straight away exactly what the current position is. This is very different to experiences I’ve had calling up other estate agents. Felt like I was speaking to stef every day at one point and she was always so helpful and friendly! We also had challenges as we got towards completion with our buyers solicitor not communicating very well and Jess was great at chasing and helping to push things along. Thank you all

After 12 years in the property sector, this was the worst transaction and estate agents I have come across. They work in the favour of the vendor. I pulled out of my purchase after 6 months. I was sick of the constant communication of Jess at English Roses.The day I pulled out of the transaction with my solicitors, I received an aggressive email from the vendor, which I did not respond to. I also kept the correspondence from Jess. I can assure you they don't make for good bedtime reading. In fact, I should have pulled out after the first correspondence from her.  The 6 months of texts, emails and calls were unnecessary from Jess. After the initial viewing I gave the vendor the price they wanted; I was told there was a lot of interest, and given the usual estate agent lip service; despite the vendor telling me she'd had no recent or upcoming viewings. I was then told the transaction was on hold as the vendor basically didn't have the money to purchase their onward property and I was kept dangling on a piece of string for over a month, until they acquired the shortfall. I was told that the vendor had a mortgage in place etc etc, but this was all lies. My mortgage provider then down valued the property twice , Jess at the estate agent was insisting I paid another £600 for another valuation, but my bank advised me not to. I was emailed weekly by Jess, being told I was holding up the process, of which my solicitor proved I wasn't.  Jess would text me in the evening or even call me if I didn't reply to emails the same day. She'd even re send emails as if to prompt me. Her terminology was completely unprofessional. It was always my fault, and I was the one holding things up. She constantly said I was being done a favour by the vendor reducing the price, even though I was following the banks and solicitor advice. As legals progressed, the texts and emails would increase in number and length from Jess. There was also a breach in data protection by Jess, with sharing mine and the vendors email addresses. I then started to receive emails from the vendor, which were not pleasant and they used the same words and terminology of Jess. It was clear she was using them like puppets on a string. On each occasion of receiving an email or text I told my solicitor, who clearly stated I was up to date with everything and that no one should be contacting me directly. I told Jess to stop emailing me. The vendor asked if I wanted to purchase their fire, wardrobe and dishwasher. I agreed, but when the dishwasher broke they wanted me to pay for the repairs, as well as purchase it... Why would I buy a broken dishwasher? I was that frustrated, I refused to purchase the other items. Jess then told me that I was holding the process up because the vendors had to organise the removal of such items.. Moan moan moan... That's all I heard. The blame game and victim mentality of the vendor. When I pulled out after 6 months, it felt like a great weight had been lifted, despite receiving a childish email from the vendor; but Jess still embroiled me into a suspiciously fast found new purchaser, by asking to purchase the searches I paid for... Did I really need to say 'for god sakes leave me alone'... My advice, if you really wish to purchase a property through them, liaise only with your solicitor only.

Don’t respond to enquires so pointless. All rentals say email only and never once heard back from them. Reason apparently high volume of enquires on property but what makes it different to any other property available. Every other estate agent has always rang straight back so it’s like they don’t want your business or only want a certain clientele. Waste of time so I wouldn’t bother with them.

I would recommend this estate agent to anyone, we recently bought a house through them and Jess supported us. She helped us at every stage, chasing solicitors and ensuring all parties completed everything really promptly. We found a place in Beckingham late in November and wanted to move in before Christmas. Thanks to Jess and her team we managed this, although it was very close. This team delivers what they promise and always return calls, no matter how late in the evening or over the weekend.
