We had an honest and free conversation with Steven at valuation, and the brochure they commission for the sale is head and shoulders above the rest. Our photos for the brochure and Right Move made our house look the best it ever had.
Throughout the sale and purchase communication was excellent; Rebecca, in particular was an immense help and supported us through the whole process.
I would highly recommend this estate agent.

GoogleIn 2019 we sold a property through SJM and were so impressed that we now use them for our two rental properties. The service they provide is amazing. We live abroad which isn't easy when you are renting out a property and we feel we can sit back and totally trust and rely on SJM to carry out the whole process of finding, checking-in and checking-out tenants on our behalf. GoogleNow I finally have (some of) my deposit back I can write a review. No problems during the tenancy. Afterwards, however...
It was determined extra cleaning was required. I did not dispute this. SJM's quote? £900, the exact amount of my deposit, funnily enough. Talk of needing to rip baths out, cut holes in walls etc. Thank god I am a landlord myself and got a second opinion. I organised an independent cleaning contractor who reduced the quote by hundreds. I worry how much has been taken from those who are less able to stick up for themselves. Because of this, I do not trust SJM and I cannot recommend them.

Steer clear!
We rented our flat out with them, they paid little attention to looking after our interests, they were rude (I won't mention names but they know who they are) usually took ages to respond to emails and then became short-tempered and aggressive when frustration was shown!
Little attention was paid to them doing their job and when things got particularly difficult and rude, S essentially said, here's the bosses details, complain if you like.
They weren't bothered about being decent or professional. It was only when we moved to a new estate agent we realised how things SHOULD be done and how much was ignored by Steven J Moore
Steer well clear. They're rude, don't do their job properly and are completely unprofessional

We are sorry you feel this way Amelia Barr, you were advised on application that other people had viewed the property and it was highly likely that other applicants would be considered.
Unfortunately, you as a single person applied for a large four bed property along with another applicant. The landlord chose the other applicant as they have been a tenant of ours for six years, but would like a larger property for her family and wishes to stay with SJM.
As you are aware we did not ask for any fees as we only make a charge when a decision has been made by the landlord. We asked you to apply for a brand new two bedroom property that we had not yet advertised, which we thought would be ideal for you, but you declined our offer.
We wish you well in finding a suitable property.

Googlet has taken me weeks to leave a review, but I feel that I must. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They have failed over and over again costing me tens of thousands of pounds. I have enough records and proof to take legal action and if they try to defend themselves I will use it as evidence. If you want an honest review, I say.. Try someone else.
