Didn't respond to an enquiry. Prompted, then lied about property status/availability. Shut down responses when questioned about it. The standard of English estate agents is abysmal compared to those abroad, yet people accept this low level, amateurish behaviour...so they get it!

I listed my property through Winkworth. I appointed Michael S as they sold the property to me and have the highest sales in the area, so thought they were best for the job. Once appointed, they were hard to reach and I had to chase them for weeks after no contact for feedback from viewers - and often there was none after a weeks of no contact. They advised I list my property at a said price and it would easily sell at this said price. I thought it was overpriced and recommended we list it below their advised price. After one month, they were pushing me to reduce the listing price... The worst part of the experience was that one of the viewers broken a window handle. Winkworth deny this happened and refuse to take responsibility. Please speak with other agents before you choose to list. A lesser known, but more personal agent will make your life a lot easier.

My application for a rented property was of particular urgency and Kelly went above and beyond to ensure my application was completed and successful, in an unusually short timeframe. This included late hours and numerous calls abroad to obtain speedy approval from an overseas landlord. I can not stress enough, how this helped my already stressful situation. We had a patchy experience with Winkworth. Struggling to sell our flat (partly because the first year was in the heart of covid) we tried in two different years with them. In the first year Hamish was fantastic, really clear, friendly and helpful. We had regular communication from him and what felt like clear and honest advice during a difficult time in the market being in the summer between COVID lockdowns. Because of this experince we returned the next year when our service from Michael was less helpful. We found him really difficult to get a hold of throughout the eight weeks, with emails not answered or answered incredibly slowly. He didn't offer clear and proactive advice like the year before and we switched to Dexter's as soon as possible, who were much more proactive and helped us to a sale. That second experience was really frustrating and a stark difference from the service we received from Winkworth the year before with Hamish, who was great.

The Highbury team did a great job in selling my flat which has now sold for £35,000 more than the other estate agent I spoke to wanted to list it at. The initial pitch by Hamish was very convincing and the team were professional, friendly, communicative and responsive from start to finish so all in all a good experience from my side which has left me better off than I would have been had I gone elsewhere.

Kensal Rise’s best estate agent

Winkworth stepped into the breach after our previous agent failed to produce a satisfactory buyer. Within 48 hours we had two offers and a buyer prepared to pay over asking price.
