Avoid this agency if you value your deposit. The end-of-tenancy process was is a nightmare. They submitted a fraudulent invoice as evidence in a TDS deposit dispute. I contacted the company named on the invoice directly and they confirmed in writing they had never attended the property and the invoice number belonged to a completely different property for a job dated 7 months ago. I reported them for fraud.

Extremely Disappointing Experience. Poor Communication and Customer Service

Our experience with Winkworth has been incredibly disappointing. Firstly, our property was advertised at the wrong sale price, with a £75,000 discrepancy both online and in the agency window. The property listing was also incorrect on two separate occasions, with rooms missing from the description. Both times, we had to point out these errors ourselves and ask for them to be corrected. Communication has been consistently poor. Emails regularly go unanswered, phone calls aren't returned, and we are constantly having to chase for even the most basic updates. At times, we've waited weeks for a response, which is simply unacceptable when you're trusting an estate agent to manage the sale of your home. What's been particularly frustrating is the complete lack of proactive advice or guidance. When we've asked for suggestions on how to improve interest or move the sale forward, we've received very little help. Surely this is exactly what you're paying an estate agent for? They are supposed to be the experts, not the clients. Our property has now been on the market for over five months, with barely a handful of viewings. Throughout this time, we've felt that we've had to manage and chase almost everything ourselves. Selling a property is stressful enough without having to constantly follow up with the people you've appointed to handle it. Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience, with poor communication, a lack of attention to detail and very little customer service. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before choosing Winkworth.

Questionable service

Rented via Winkworth for 2 years from their Fulham branch. Overall I’d recommend to avoid that particular branch (if you have any choice of course). I found their service to be poor, rude and whenever a fix was needed, it was usually ‘questionable’ labour doing it as cheaply as possible (often resulting in the issue needing to be fixed multiple times). I would say said service was fairly prompt and timely even though they refused to have any phone calls. Lastly, which came as no surprise, they tried to add a whole load of nonsense charges onto the deposit. Luckily for me I kept every receipt and what started off at a ca. £500 charge resulted in £3 being awarded to them via TDS adjudication. Don’t spend it all at once!

A masterclass in poor comms

If you enjoy chasing your management team, repeating yourself, and talking to an AI in the guise of a team member- you're in luck- Winkworth is the estate agent for you! What should have been a straightforward bog-standard rental turned into an ongoing saga of piss poor communication, missed details and an impressive ability to make every issue somehow become my problem to chase up on for updates. Which begs the question, is their inbox a black hole or they just don't care? I’ve dealt with estate agents before. I'd say I'm pretty familiar with the usual level of nonsense. But I must congratulate Winkworth who have managed to take it to another level. Would I use them again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend them? Also absolutely not.

I'm so glad I trusted Aaron and the Winkworth team to find a tenant for my home. Aaron knows the Queen's Park and Kensal Rise area inside out, and is extremely knowledgeable about tenancy regulations and contracts. NO ELECTRICITY FOR 3 DAYS

I am extremely disappointed with my experience renting through Winkworth. When I moved into my new flat, the agent failed to provide me with the gas card/key. I moved here from the US so I did not know that was something that I needed. As a result, my electricity was cut off for almost three days during my very first weekend in the property. I had no light, no heating, and no hot water for close to 72 hours.
