Disappointing

I am extremely disappointed with the rental service provided by Savills. They placed a tenant in our property who attempted to leave after just two months, and the information we were given about them was inaccurate. The tenant themselves stated that Savills had misled them, which is deeply concerning.

Savills Petworth excellent service

Savills in Petworth, and David Vawdrey in particular, were brilliant in my recent house-house-selling experience. Always there for questions and updates and proactive in checking progress down the chain. All staff were courteous and friendly at all times, I would strongly recommend them , and thank David for his support.

Worst letting agent I've ever dealt with

Savills manage a property I Iet, which I agreed to pay a premium for, for the sole reason that it was a new build, high end development. I just wanted everything to work and not have any problems. 9 months in and I had no heating all winter, no ventilation in the kitchen, which meant I couldn't cook (it's a studio) and no extractor in the bathroom, making that unusable. It took over 50 emails and 6 months to get any action on them. It was all an easy fix when they could get their act together. There has been no apology, no compensation and I have to email 5 times and wait weeks to get a single response. If you have the misfortune of ending up with Alex Worral managing your property, move out.

Very poor experience as tenants

Very poor experience as tenants. Savills is continuing to withhold £170 from our deposit for a supposed “light clean”, despite the check-in report recording that the property was not clean when we moved in and the check-out report showing that many areas were left in a better condition.

Sandy and Ritesh are great

Savills are great. We've been with them a few years and they are super helpful. We had issues with one person a while back and they sorted it out quickly. Ritesh has been dealing with us and he's fantastic. As is Anthony and then Sandy overall managing things is amazing. - basically Savills are a bit more expensive than other companies for management but you get what you pay for.

Tom and team were very professional, diligent and responsive all the way through my acquisition of some rural barns in Suffolk which they were selling. Tom managed my expectations well, and coordinated the vendor and solicitors well to ensure a successful conclusion with his deft hand. With Tom in charge a difficult transaction was made much easier and resulted in a positive outcome for me and the vendor.

I had the pleasure of working alongside the Savills Ipswich sales team on a particularly complex land transaction, and I cannot speak highly enough of the service they provided throughout. From agreeing heads of terms through to completion, the transaction spanned around 18 months and involved the sale of three separate parcels of land. As is often the case with transactions of this nature, the matter evolved considerably over time, with changing requirements and numerous challenges that required patience, flexibility and exceptional coordination from everyone involved. Peter did an excellent job negotiating the original deal and laying the foundations for what was ultimately a very successful transaction. As the matter reached its final stages, Sam and Hattie took over and were exceptional. I would particularly like to recognise Sam, whose determination, commercial approach and relentless drive were instrumental in getting the transaction over the line. Together with Hattie, she maintained outstanding communication between all parties, including both sets of conveyancing solicitors, ensuring issues were dealt with promptly and constructively. Their ability to coordinate everyone involved, keep momentum despite the inevitable twists and turns, and remain solutions-focused throughout was invaluable in achieving exchange within the parties’ desired timeframe. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and they consistently went above and beyond to help navigate what was, at times, an exceptionally demanding transaction. Their professionalism, responsiveness and commitment made them an absolute pleasure to work with. As the conveyancing solicitor acting on the transaction, I would not hesitate to recommend the Savills Ipswich team. Peter, Sam and Hattie are all a credit to Savills, and I very much look forward to working with them again.

Overpriced, cynical and rude service for landlords

We as landlords are completely unsatisfied with Savills as our letting and managing agency. It is a thing that they are unexceptionally expensive, but for the price they don't give back extra value. First thing we haven't received our half a year report, just after several calls and emails and as a 9-month report with a letting contract run for 12 months. Our property valuation happend via pictures. There was a photographer who came out, than the women who provided the report just looked the pictures and said her opinion about our letting property via them. She has never been in the flat and saw it byself personally! Interesting.....!We decided to leave this overpriced agency, and after it the style of their emails and the treatment is more than disgusting. We do NOT recommend them at all, we think they overcharge landlords, and how they handled us as landlords when we decided to leave them was cynical and rude. They want to HOLD BACK OUR FLOAT MONEY, telling to us that our new agency advertising falsely, eventhough the new agency changed already the advertisement. We are not responsible for any agencies and their advertisements, and we think it is UNLAWFUL to hold back a landlord's money for claiming an other agency's act. We are seriously thinking of taking further steps in this case. They let us feel as second class people, but they have forgotten one thing: WE PAY THEIR SALARY, because without our payment they do NOT HAVE BUSINESS and NO WAGES! They do NOT MAKE FAVOUR for a landlord, WE PAY A FORTUNE FOR THEIR SERVICE, they live from us.

Great Service!

I was in the market for a property, however I was pretty lost and had no idea where to start. I called Savils and requested a meeting - Jayden Campbell was the associate who I had the meeting with. he walked me through my options and helped me understand the current market, very friendly and inviting. Without him I would've still been searching around cluelessly.

Savills photographers unlawful practice.

To start off with if I could give minus stars I would. I am selling my Mothers bungalow on another auction site. Up to now the buyer and I have exchanged contracts but completion has not taken place yet. The buyer decided to take the law into his own hands and change the locks on my mothers property, he also put the property that he doesn't own yet on Savills auction site, by chance I come across my Mothers property on Rightmove with photographs outside and inside the property, I contacted Savills to tell them the property does not belong to the person who had asked them to list the property on their site. I spoke to one of the reps who's name was Jay, he apologised and said he would have the listing removed, which he did. I then spoke to Ralph Mendes da Costa, I informed him that the photographs taken inside the house and round the back of the house were taken illegally because the person who listed it does not own the property yet. I asked Ralph to tell me what details were supplied to Savills regarding the ownership of the property and the perspective sellers legal right to sell it. He said once contracts are exchanged he has the right to sell it. I am not disputing this because I am unsure of the legalities of it. Ralph asked for my email address so he could send me a response, so far I have not heard anything. I am going to seek legal guidance on this because Savills photographers have entered my Mothers property illegally and taken photographs of her personal living space without permission because she is still the legal owner of the property. Friday the 16th Feb 2024 my son phoned Savills and asked about the property and the response he got was yes its still for sale, how can this be explained, from a big company like Savills this should not be happening. In my opinion this is no better than breaking and entering and trespass at the least, I will leave that up to a legal representative.

The most appaling company to work for

The most appaling company to work for. I was put on a new homes site to work with no lighting I had to walk 15 mins in the dark to the train station in fields. A female lone working then to add insult to injury made to fill out a H&S assessment saying I had been given a personal alarm that I hadn't been given to meet their H&S lone working requirements! There was no internet and then I signed up house sales with absolutely no training oñ Savills paperwork and yet still sold houses for them showing their customers broken tile examples. I left after a few weeks trust me the name Savills is not associated with Quality and as for management support one manager was on holiday abroad the whole time I worked and the other was off sick the whole time!

Paid me less than they offered

Deposit fiasco. They wanted to take a lot of money for extra cleaning etc so I started a claim with Tds. They made an offer I agreed to and then paid me less anyway. They're not responding to my emails anymore. I'll have no choice but to go to small claims court. Please look into what you're doing because I thought it was a 'premium' company...

Following on from Pete Shawler's review, we were their buyers. Although we were not Savills' customers as such, I can't recommend them highly enough as Tom Orford ensured the complicated purchase went through. Tom helped arrange the viewing and then ensured, I think, all parties were happy with the negotiation. As this property had an overage covering part of the garden, it was a bit more complicated. Tom managed to track down the original landowner from 25+ years ago so that we could set up a new contract for the remaining 13 years or so. My pretty terrible online conveyancer pulled out one Friday afternoon after about four months when they realized they had no experience with an overage. Why it took them so long to work this out, I don't know. I rang Tom to apologise; however, within a few minutes, he had liaised with a couple of suitable companies for me to swap my purchase to. So when I called up, the groundwork and situation were already explained to them and we could hit the ground running. This is above and beyond what I would have expected of an agent. Then when it came to exchange, the terrible conveyancer which I had kept to complete the sale of my old property (as I'd spent so much time filling in forms etc.) hadn't noticed a mistake by the bank, which had not removed the charge on the land when I had paid off the mortgage. This caused delays, but Tom helped keep the communication open between the parties and was always available. As a buyer, I found the comprehensive photos, house plan, and property plan all very good. I don't know how the fees compared to the competition as we were the buyers, but as I learned from using the cheapest conveyancer, you get what you pay for!

Charges flat leaseholders thousands of pound a year to inspect fire doors when it should be just a simple visual check which even the government says should NOT place an additional burden on leaseholders, could easily been done in house by staff we pay here but we have to 20k plus to Savills through our service charges for a simple check. Yet another company cashing in on the leaseholder scandal, absolutely disgusting leaseholders continue to get fleeced and these companies just take advantage of our situation to add to their already large profits!

Selling your home is a stressful business and having Savills on our side was the best decision we made. The service provided by the team in Savills Ipswich branch has been nothing short of excellent. In particular, we found Tom Orford's easy going and professional manner hugely reassuring.
