Valuation was organised by my lender on a property I'm hoping to buy - cost me £500 and they came back and said the valuer couldn't value it! The lender was not happy with them so we've had to go with another valuer now!avoid if you can!

TrustpilotThey allow viewings only if you take their mortgage
Very unprofessional behavior. They allow you to view properties with them only if you accept to take the mortgage with their own mortgage provider. Today 19 Jan 2023, I had two viewings with them in the afternoon. They said that I didn't attend their mortgage interview at their office so they canceled my appointments after I went all the way to the location. Also, the mortgage appointment was not confirmed via email or SMS, it was just communicated over a phone conversation that I may need to go to their office (which one - who knows?) and attend an in-person mortgage appointment. Stay away from them, they are the worst.

Absolutely disgraceful employers! I've never worked for such a deceitful company! The AREA MANAGER promised a pay rise and company after 3 months employment, branch was performing poorly at best. So I did the manager job on a consultants salary for 4 months, asked for my review to receive what was promised! Lo and behold, the area manager wouldn't even put it to her manager as she knew full well they were false promises and were never going to be granted! I left on this basis as the salaries are poor at best, now 6 months down the line they're threatening to take me to court if I don't pay them a commission guarantee back! Absolutely disgraceful company, half the staff are well underpaid and want to leave but are obviously trapped by this clause in the agreement! Connells, Bridgfords, Countrywide all under the same umbrella and should be ashamed at how they treat employees. I was warned not to work for them but I went against that warning, being lured in with false hopes of promotion. Do not accept employment here!

Chose to go with connells to sell my mother's property, a decision that I would make again in a flash, they priced it realistically and the write up, photos and videos were accurate. Connells were very professional and kept us updated from start to finish, they dealt with all quieres promptly. Mark, lavinia and libby your all stars. I would not recommend selling your property with this estate agent. We had a very poor experience wanting to genuinely purchase a property they were marketing... We had to push for our offer to be submitted to the sellers after declaring we didn't need to use their mortgage services. We had an improved offer accepted by the sellers, we were then pitched their conveying service, but we kindly declined, we were expecting an sales memorandum but instead the offer was discarded for reasons unknown and their phone just rings out.. We decided to move on and had a offer accepted on another property with another agent and the process was seamless

Moving is a stressful enough experience without having your agent tell you at three months in that your buyer has pulled out, putting your property back on the market, re-selling it for more, then telling you it was another property nearby that the original buyer actually pulled out of. Don't even go there!

TrustpilotBeware what you sign when handed the contract regarding their FEE
The only reason we chose Connells was because they said they will charge 1% fee from the selling price. I signed the contract with them for this but they took the 1% from the “supposed” selling price which was considerably higher, than the actual price we sold! It also took them almost 2 years to sell! When I asked for the refund, they just delayed the answer & didn’t reply to emails until it was too late, as completion happened.

If there less than one star definitely i would put. I haven’t seen such a horrible estate agency like them. When i moved to the property their employee make me sign the contract and promised me that he was going to give the kay at the second day but he didn’t answer my calls because was Sunday and the big problem my stuff were in the street because I thought he would give the kay another surprise that the previous tent where i suppose to move was still there so I beg him to leave my stuff in the garden and i went back to my previous property and slept on the floor because I had no furniture the second day he gave me the kay I found the property full of rubbish and many problems there then they keep waiting until 3 months to fixed them. My second problem since last year i have neighbour on the top and they do business (illegal) at their property so they make a lot of noise and they don’t care I have recorded the noise and sent them to Connells they reply after 50 days and said please contact the management 😂 i am stuck at this horrible property because I am student and landlords don’t accept STUDENT I am living in a nightmare everyday because of them I hope government close their offices i am crying everyday i feel so stress

This parasitic vile company(high wycombe) put my house on the market without my knowledge or say so. I have done my research to find out on record that via Hurst, jnp and others in the vicinity have all had customers complain about the exact same thing done to them. Needless to say I'm coming to close you down. All the way to the top!.

Avoid at all costs if you value your mental health!! Connells failed in their legal duty to inform us fully about our buyers position to proceed which led us to accept an offer from someone with a complicated chain, leading to stressful delays. They failed to keep us informed on progress and when contacted for an update, calls were frequently not returned. The service was so poor, our buyer regularly contacted us to find out if we knew what was happening with their chain! Despite making a formal complaint outlining their numerous failings, Connells would not accept any of their shortcomings. A disaster from beginning to end. Should anyone be unfortunate enough to use this company, the best advice is if you speak to them follow the conversation up with an email to ensure a written record of everything they say or do because their staff have difficulty in recalling anything discussed verbally.

GoogleConnell’s was our estate agent of choice when we sold our house in Ipswich. Our main point of contact and “go-to” person was Callum. He steered us through the entire process and was very patient with our numerous questions. He invariably kept us in the loop on the progress of the sale and was always a source of common sense, support and perspective when we started to get worried about how the sale was progressing. We took his advice on everything; especially when, and if, to adjust the sale price. Callum’s advice was on the money, quite literally, as we sold our house within four months of it being first advertised. We found Callum to be reliable, conscientious and professional in all his dealings with us. We had several problems during the sale process and would have been unable to resolve them without Callum’s help and assistance. We had a very satisfactory experience with Connells due solely to Callum. We have no hesitation whatsoever in thoroughly recommending his services to any prospective Connell’s client. Many thanks!

GoogleFirst of all, the entire experience was really easy. I’m quite an anxious person and it worked really well for me. The valuation and the photos were done in quick time. When ever I made a call through to the office or popped in to ask questions there was always someone who could answer my questions or who would call me back. I never had to be at the property for the viewings as one of the team took care of it. When I was unsure of what documentation I had to supply I took the lot in to the office and it was sent off for me. So thanks to all the team for a sterling job. Keith xx

GoogleVery impressed, being first time buyers looking to get a mortgage in principle james was recommended to us. James gave us a good idea of what we would be expecting and how the process works. After james got our mortgage in principle He was more than happy to help with putting our offer forward on a property even though it wasn’t listed through Connell’s. Throughout the mortgage application everything was dealt with by James or his colleague Sue from the mortgage application to the life insurance and were more than happy compare current life insurance to our new policy.100% would recommend.

GoogleWe got in contact with Connells a couple of months ago, just after we completed our purchase. Literally, the first e-mail we received was very polite, helpful, calm and respectful. We felt very welcome. Because initially we were in a bit of a hurry April helped us out with the necessary things. She responded quick and thought along with us on how to proceed and which steps to take in advance. Until now, April/Connells still is very responsive and I would say that a 24hrs response time is usual. We do sincerely hope that Connells will maintain this service level and if they do, they've made two new fans over here.

GoogleI cannot speak highly enough of James for his mortgage services. I have used him for both house purchases and a re-mortgage and I find that he is extremely knowledgeable of the markets, his products and I feel that he always finds the best deal for me and is looking out for my best interests. Connells also handled the sale of my recent property and I have been extremely happy with the service right from the start. After the initial meeting with Barry things moved very quickly and I was always kept in the loop. The sales team where always efficient and happy to answer any questions that I had at any stage of the process and I cannot thank them enough for making the experience a lot less stressful.

When I saw all the other thousands of negative reviews about this abysmal company, I was relieved to know I was not the only one! They are beyond corrupt, an absolute joke. Unprofessional, rude, frauds and liars. I have had so many issues with them its unbelievable. They lied to Scottish Power when we moved in our rented property and we ended up having a warrant against us for S.P to remove our meter, S.P then stated they have taken the property and estate agents to court for failure to provide them with an update of tenancy and paying the arrears. When I then told S.P that we are with Connells estate agents he LAUGHED and said word for word "sorry I'm not laughing at you I promise I'm just laughing because so many tenants have named Connells, theyre known for this, If I was you I'd sue them and give them a world of sh**. This is not your debt its theirs." When I then informed Connells, there response was absolutely disgusting. I warn everyone to STAY AWAY from this agency no matter what. And so many of my colleagues, friends of friends, and neighbours have said the same - word of mouth is crucial. As are the thousands of other complaints about this AWFUL corrupt disgusting agency.

I thought Initially that Connells is right place for letting, but after letting they continously disturbed us with Sales and Letting related before 3 months of the contract, even though we say we are not available pushing us that we need to be in home as they already booked without taking prior confirmation. After contract they send us that it is worst report and saying that we damaged whole property which is already damaged in pieces that's why no one buy or let. One of the Representative said that we are staying in the property more than the occupants and said that we are like labours lot of rude talk and defaming others. Just talking in a way that they are staying in the home everyday and observing when we are in contract. I am least bother about Tenancy deposit because i can donate for this beggars.

This is one of the worst letting companies you can deal with. They are frauds, liars and unprofessional. They lied to me when renting my property, kept the money paid by the tenants for a month in their accounts to gain profit on it and kept lying to me about releasing the money. I called them several times to cancel the management and they kept lying about it and manipulating to keep taking the management fees and not to return any penny. They have no manners and respond after days and days of emailing them. No cross communication and they asking same questions.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
