Absolutely abhorrent company

Absolutely abhorrent company. A nightmare to deal with, I get better communication talking to a wall. Rented through them for years, only to be let down at the last hurdle. We ended our tenancy in April, and we are still owed a refund of rent that was agreed with our landlord and the estate agents before we left the lease. Took AGES for them to refund our deposit, despite chasing it multiple times, and still chasing our rent to be returned nearly 6 months later! I am still chasing to this day, thankfully our previous landlord is really responsive and is as appalled as we are at their terrible service. Castle brom branch - if you read this, please give me back my money and respond to the countless emails I have sent you and the complaints team - you have received proof of the agreement to refund from our landlord.

Landlord: I have used Burchell for a number of years, but after never using another estate agent in the area and getting a cheaper quote from one in town with very high google reviews, I decided to try else where. What a costly mistake this would turn out to be. The other estate agent failed to rent my property in over 4 weeks of listing, even after encouraging me to lower the price after the first week. Now for the shining light that is Amber at Burchell. She kept tabs on my property while I listed it with the other company, and after my 4 week contract expired with the other estate agent she suggested dual letting the property, and that she would market it at a price my property deserved to be rented at for its condition - the original fee I had requested with the other agent. She found me a suitable tenant within 24 hours of listing it. So, the old saying 'you get what you pay for' comes to mind, as by going elsewhere I have lost over a month's worth of rent and bills associated with the property. Thank you Amber and thank you Burchell, unrivalled in this area for any landlord looking for excellent service and quality tenants.

After an unproductive listing with another agent, we moved to Burchell Edwards. Leona at the Ilkeston Office was a delight to work with, very friendly and kept us up to date throughout the whole process. She introduced our former home to the eventual buyers, who were in her contacts list, and negotiated a fair selling price between both parties. We would certainly recommend Burchell Edwards to others. The only thing I would say is that in the end we arranged our own solicitor to handle the sale, as the conveyance company that we chose originally through Burchell Edwards, did not meet our needs.

Started off ok we were happy with the valuation and sales information regarding the house. They recommended an online solicitors who were very poor at first but after complaining they transferred us to another colleague at the same firm who was more proactive. Would not use birchell Edwards again there was no sales chasing or communication with them, they didn't return emails or phone calls this went on for 5 months until we decided to cancel the sale and still not heard anything from them !! Customer service is non existent.

i am an registered electrician in birmingham. and i done some work for a landlord because burchell edwards sent an electrician and quoted well over priced work that was needed to be done. so after i done the work and issued a electrical installation condition report. Sophie Hendy from Burchell Edwards messaged the land lord to say i was not a competent or registered electrician to which i found offendsive as i have been an electrician since Sophie Hendy was in nappies and been registered with NAPIT since 2013 and NICEIC before that .with a little work she could of found my details through NAPIT but couldn't be arsed to look

One star is too much for this absolute shambles of a business. Their Tamworth branch are lazy and inept. I have left numerous messages and they never call back. When you do speak to someone they tell you it’s another branch who pass you straight back to Tamworth. I hope they tell their landlords that they let for how they can’t be bothered to let their properties.
