GoogleIt's easy to recommend an estate agent when the house market is favourable and one's house sells quickly. But what about when the economic situation makes buying and selling more difficult? 2022 was such a year. House prices rose quickly, interest rates rose and so did energy prices and inflation. It was difficult for many people to afford to move house. For me, after 6 months on the market with Cornerstone my house hadn't sold. During this time I lost a buyer when they pulled out after 10 weeks. So why did I stay with Cornerstone? It can be easy to blame the estate agents when a house doesn't sell. Other estate agents send out letters encouraging you to switch to them, implying they would do a better job. Here are my reasons for remaining faithful to Cornerstone.
1) I knew the market situation was difficult.
2) I trusted the ability and professionalism of the staff.
3)My first impressions of them were very positive. After meeting Laura and Harry I knew I had made the right choice in trusting Cornerstone to sell my house for me.
4) Their office was a place where good working relationships were evident, and a sense of teamwork was prevalent.
5) They gave me good advice and were also good at taking on board my requests and ideas as we worked together to achieve a sale.
In August Cornerstone came up with a buyer and in December I moved into my new home. Thank you Laura, Harry and the rest of the team. I am so grateful to you. I was always confident you would get me across the line. Good job!

It was a smooth, stress free process and when we got the keys were given a personalized card congratulating us on moving into our new home. This was a lovely touch which no other estate agent has ever taken the time to do before. GoogleDealt with cornerstone in relation to a potential apartment to rent recently, upon viewing the apartment the estate agent couldn’t of been less interested in showing myself around and spent more time on his phone and gave no information In relation to the apartment, his reasoning appeared to be that it was someone else in the company actually letting this particular apartment. I have then requested information to be passed on to myself and my partner via the office and initially was informed I would be called back and never was, this was chased up by myself and spoke to the lettings manager who was more interested in getting me off the phone and was unable to note down basic information meaning we again had to chase up for details the following day. Would definitely avoid dealing with in future unless customer service improved.
As per below the call was appreciated and after clarifying I meant the person showing me round was not taking a phone call but scrolling through their phone, the manager has explained they will speak to staff and also happy with how quick the company has contacted me following this review to try improve.

On behalf of the company it does upset ourselves to hear a review like this? After looking into the matter I can see my colleague was at the property from 2pm - 5pm so he was there for 3 hours conducting back to back viewings, there were lots of applicants calling to see how they could access the property hence why my colleague was on the phone. We received multiple applications for this property which were passed to Rightmove for processing then the Landlord chose his own tenant, all applicants were informed of this within the 1 week of the viewing. GoogleBooked an appointment to view a property in Huddersfield - I made it abundantly clear that I have a limited time frame and this time slot was the only one I have as I would be coming over from the other side of Yorkshire. I arrived to view the property and no one was there - called the office only to be told they couldn't make it as they had a clash of timings!!!
Made no attempts to remedy the situation and left me with a waste of time money and fuel.
I suggest you find other agents who are organised and know what they're doing as this estate agency is shockingly inept

Whilst we understand you are disappointed that your viewing did not go ahead this was due to an unexpected staff illness resulting in office staff having to reschedule appointments in the diary. We did offer you a 12pm appointment the same day or a 5pm the following day. You declined both of these times. Unfortunately we could not have foreseen a member of staff taking ill.

GoogleSold my house recently with them. At first, members of staff seemed eager to help and lovely.
As soon as we got started however we were spoken to with a short and uninterested tone. We were made to feel like an inconvenience when our first buyers pulled out (which happens all the time).
At one point, we received multiple offers and were heavily pressured by the agency to go with a lower offer so they could have a quick sale. After asking for a day to think about it, the owner rang us an hour later to tell us to take the offer. It came across as pushy, not thinking of us, the client, at all.
Finally, after the sale they rang several times about the buyer complaining of a sticking door. As an estate agent they should have known that the condition you buy a house in is how it is. They should not have been leaving rude voicemails saying the new owner is unhappy. Completion had happened and we had moved so I'm not sure what they were trying to achieve.
In summary, we found our experience with them unpleasant
and highly unprofessional, and we were not treated as clients, more annoyances. If you have to deal with them, speak to Ali. By far the nicest and most helpful, who actually called at one point to apologise for the way we'd been spoken to by others. 10/10 would not recommend.

GoogleAbsolutely the worst experience!! As a prospective tenant, I found the Lettings Department at Huddersfield to be incredibly dishonest, rude, lacking empathy and unprofessional. They changed a viewing last minute to a day when I work. I was told if I couldn't make the new day then it was "tough". It meant nothing that I was the first person to call about the property. The property didn''t get tenanted and went back on Rightmove so arranged another viewing. I was told the wrong day so had to rearrange another day. The two people who work there gave contadictory information about the property. Alex said it needed some work and Lauren said it was in immaculate condition. I applied immediately for the property and received confirmation the same day that the Landlord had accepted my application. I was so happy...........until two days later receiving an e mail saying that my application had been declined. I challenged this with Lauren at the office who became very defensive and argued with me. No customer service skills at all and was lied to. Stay away!!!NegativeProfessionalism
