Magdalena was calm and explained everything to me about their properties and offers and gave me advice. She also suggested a broker advisor. I have worked with Townends Chiswick branch over a number of years and have always found them to work really hard to earn your business and very helpful in resolving issues to move things forward to conclusion with the right tenants. Whilst the head office attention to detail is not always exact, this is more than made up for by the local Chiswick branch and all the team there has been superb. They have stayed in touch appropriately throughout and have gone out of their way to help me complete the works needed and support in many ways outside their remit where requested - a fabulous Lettings team and am sure they are exactly matched over in the sales side - I can not recommend them highly enough.

They say that buying a house is the most stressful thing you can do but thanks to Townends the entire thing was remarkably stress free and actually quite fun. Dawn took us to see the property 3 times. Each time she gave us all the new details we had asked for (we had many questions!) and showed us around. We found the experience very easy and we were never rushed for time or left waiting. Making the offer was smooth and communication was always punctual and informative. Being a first time buyer I had no idea what to expect. I was soon bombarded by mortgage, solicitor, legal, insurance, council, environmental and chain information but Dawn was able to point us in the right direction every time and reassure us that everything was going to plan. Without the team at Townends I would have lost my sanity soon after the process began. To Townends: I hope you see this review and accept our sincere thanks as you guys were awesome! My details passed on to an energy company without my consent

My energy contract was taken over by an energy company without my consent and without Informing me. When I challenged them, they said that my letting agent for the property in this case one of Stirling Ackroyd agents had given my details to a partnership that has an agreement with the energy company. I was not very happy about this as this energy contract transfer has caused issues for me. The letting agency obviously has this agreement. I found it shocking that they told this partnership the date that my flat was going to be empty and when to take over the energy supply without notifying me and without my express consent.This is very upsetting. Not sure I can trust them again.

Experienced and professional service with a complex portfolio

We have been clients of Stirling Ackroyd (with their letting service) for about two years, and they have been highly professional and knowledgeable. They have managed property issues in a timely fashion as they arise, including handling a complex refurbishment, transferring from a previous (and inept) managing agent, and some slightly difficult tenants. They are also on top of all of the relevant regulatory matters, and do everything in a legally correct manner (to the best of my limited knowledge). I would happily recommend their services.

We used Stirling Ackroyd to rent a flat in Chiswick, everything was fine with them in finding somewhere, but my real problem has been with them in after leaving, landlord agreed to release our full deposit back but Stirling Ackroyd have been utterly useless in giving our money back, completely unresponsive to emails and to give the final kick we have been told they have an IT issue and it is not likely to be resolved soon, certainly not within 2 weeks of the landlord instructing them to release the deposit. How hard can it be for a professional organisation like this to process payments quickly and efficiently? Certainly never had this problem with previous estate agents who would process the payments in a quick and fair manner. I understand that we are no longer clients of them so they probably don't care as much but to be honest the next time I will need the requirements of an estate agent in Chiswick then these guys will be the last ones I turn to.
