A small, intimate estate agents with just one office and six desks. On the right is the brilliant sales team and on the left the property management people. To the back is the store room where the dog treats are kept. Very easy to communicate with everyone as the right hand (side) knows what the left hand (side) is doing and there is never a time when you are left wondering if they actually know who you are and which property you are selling/letting. This is very important in my opinion and key to why they are so successful. They manage a rental property for me with efficiency and thoroughness and recently sold a house in a record 66 days from first advertising to completion. Their knowledge of the local market is excellent and they have good relationships with all the solicitors in the town (for selling) and many tradespeople for prompt repairs when letting. These are serious advantages when deciding to employ their services.

The service I have received within the last six months with stone gate have been impeccable. They are always at hand for anything we have needed especially during this weekend. Unfortunately, due to my own mistakes, we had an emergency and within 10 minutes of a phone call they were at my door helping me sort everything and Christine definitely went above and beyond. I could not recommend their services enough.

Stonegates are absolutely appalling. The house has been on the market for nearly a year and they only (just about) managed to achieve one offer, which fell through. The fact that other houses of similar size have sold ever since (through different agents), adds to my irritation. They are incapable of being impartial and avoid contact when updates are requested. I would’ve done a much better job selling out of the back of my vehicle or from a backstreet alleyway. Don’t bother unless you want to waste your time. There are far better and more competent estate agents in Hitchin.

Due to an unexpected job change, we made the difficult decision to rent out our recently renovated 'forever home' to relocate 180 miles away from Hitchin. It was really important that we found an estate agent that we could trust to properly manage our property. Stonegates have been absolutely that and more! Responsive, knowledgeable and reassuring. As well as super fast acquisition of really great tenants. Stonegate estate agents are far from helpful, my experience with this company is frankly a nightmare, they didn't seem to know how to discribe the property, they put a total of 3 prospective buyers through the door in 8 weeks, dispite being a desirable property. When I changed agents immediately I had more people being in 2 weeks than stonegate had in the time with them, there reaction was to attempt to bully me which didn't work, so they put there Cheif bully DERIC BLACK on totme with threats of legal action, this was followed by solicitors letters, the place is a nightmare stay well clear, or you too may suffer.
