GoogleSatchells sold our house to us three years ago and the service was excellent, so we used them to then onward sell our house now. The house was barely on the market for a week before we had a offer which was well within our expectations. Specifically, Christine has been excellent throughout the process offering timely updates and assuring us, providing us valuable advice and guidance as first time sellers. We cant thank her enough for helping us through the journey!

From the time they both surveyed and valued my home the expertise and professionalism was incredible. They treated me like a friend and gave me all the help I needed. If I was confused they had the patience of a saint whilst explaining things to me. It was the 1st time I've had to sell a home, and they made it so much easier for me whilst still mourning my Dad. We recently sold our flat through them and we were kept updated throughout, they explained the process clearly and took time to run through any questions. Whenever there were any stumbling blocks Christine would chase up those involved and keep us informed. The team at Satchells made the moving stress a lot more bearable, thank you!

GoogleTruly awful service. Had the property on the market for a few months, only managed to get to speak to someone once. Chased and spoken to reception over 5 times, agent never calls back. We have since re let the flat with someone else and someone has moved in. As Satchells don’t answer the phone it’s still on Rightmove for sale. Would avoid and use anyone else
I would like to reply to your recent review, I am Alan Hilditch and one the owners of Satchells Estate Agents. For 102 years my family, that’s 4 generations, have sold properties in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. We pride ourselves on offering sound advice and when we value a property, we suggest how to position a property with a suitable asking price based upon comparable evidence. I think it is fair to say, on this occasion, that communication could have been better, but on occasions we waited over two weeks for information to be returned. If you are looking for an agent that offers good solid advice then we would love to hear from you, and I think this is a reason we are a contender for the 2025 ESTAS award due to the number of 5 star ratings we have.

GoogleI have never had such a good experience with estate agent,s as we have had with Satchells in Hitchin. Firstly, we had great advice on the selling price and advertising for our property by Richard. We were kept informed throughout by Chris, who took great care to assist whenever possible with the house sale and purchase. I felt that Satchells were an integral part of the process and that it would have taken far longer to complete without the help from Chris, especially during the difficulties of covid and the rush caused by the relief of stamp duty. Thank you Satchells, I have never had a better house selling experience.

All the team gave excellent advice throughout and were calm and patient dealing with the many hold ups in the chain. Without their expertise and professionalism we would not have reached completion. My name is Alan Hilditch, and I am one of the Owners of Satchells Estate Agents and I do not often reply to reviews unless someone accuses us of being a thief and running a scam. On this occasion I feel I must defend our family firm that is 101 years old. During the process of letting a property we ask an applicant for information so we can take up references and this includes to name but a few proof of income, proof of employment and credit history. This information is used to allow a third-party company to check the information provided and to help us understand the tenant and provides us with advice if the tenancy should go ahead or not. My advice for any tenant is to be transparent, this would avoid this type of problem. We explain before you go ahead with the references that you would be liable for the costs of referencing if there are discrepancies between what you have told us and what the references reveal. I fully support Connor, he is gifted communicator and his team of 7 are exceptional and they look after 500 properties and hundreds of landlords and they do it very successfully and I am very proud of them

GoogleNot familiar with the property which they represent, late on appointments,I needed to explain to the potential buyers,can't understand what actually the buyers want. I needed to chase them for feedback which I never got it or they come out with some lame ones.

GoogleVery disappointing service, called about a property on Monday morning, was assured to receive a call from the letter the next day, heard nothing, I called back Thursday, to be told property had been let the previous weekend.
Thank you for your review. Firstly, I am very sorry that your experience with Satchells has not been a positive one. We pride ourselves on the service delivered and am not happy that on this occasion you have not been satisfied. I have reviewed this internally and the property you enquired on, my colleague correctly informed you it was under offer and he would call you back should the property not be secured, in this case the property did get secured and was therefore no longer available. I apologise for any confusion.

However I feel they have not acted on my best interests often going against my wishes and on numerous occasions I have had calls from them that have ended with me in tears and on one occasion my mother having to hang up on them as they would not let me end the call. It has got to the stage now where I have had to go to the onbusdman with telephone recordings and letters. I have had perfect service from other agents involved in the sale of my property which has made Satchells poor service stand out so much more.
