Posting this again in retrospect (February/March 2023) as google decided to remove it. They clearly were discriminating against my partner and I. For whatever reason, I don’t even know. I am a nurse, had a good credit score, and My partner was a lorry driver and had an even great credit score and and we didn’t even have children then but they still refused to allow us to view the property. They came up with some flimsy reference excuse and didn’t even give me and my partner the chance to view the property. George went on and on about how we will fail the reference because I was still renting another property and how he thinks the property was not meant for my partner and I and that the landlord wants the property rented in a week anyways, so we should give this property up (it’s been over a month and the property is still on the market). This dude wouldn’t even give me a chance to say anything and I suffered major anxiety in the rest of our property search from how he dealt with me. Guess what? in the same circumstance, my partner and I were able to rent a property much better than theirs and easily passed our reference without an ounce of problem. I’m not even going to mention what our friend had to go through with them to.

Buying a house can be an extremely scary and overwhelming process, especially for a first-time buyer. Becky has been amazing during the whole process; she has been extremely responsive, checking in even when we had no answers, and she seemed to generally care about making the process as easy as possible. She went on holiday for a week when we were close to completing but she made sure nothing was left unanswered. Her colleague Tom called every day to check in and pushed on the process. I couldn't fault the service Becky and the team gave us.

It is my absolute pleasure to leave a glowing review for George, five stars just don't cover the wonderful service we received from him. We had quite specific requirements for the property we were looking for, we needed a flat suitable for an elderly gentleman (my Dad) we were keen for him to be located near me. The flat had to have access to the town and was of a suitable size for him to manage along with a price he could afford. George worked tirelessly to find such a property, no mean feat in this climate of scarce properties. He communicated with us frequently, he was kind and patient when we began to feel a bit desperate. I never lost confidence in the fact that George was very much on our side and was working hard to find my Dad a home. George is incredibly polite, well mannered and above all kind. Highly recommend this estate agent! I recently purchased a property, and Alex managed the sale exceptionally well. Recently viewed a number of new build cottages in Gosmore near Hitchin and was made to feel incredibly welcome by Kali... A warm and friendly greeting but more to the point she had done her homework! allowed us plenty of time to view and was full of enthusiasm throughout. She knew all about the houses in fine detail plus knew the area and market. Although this is the first viewing I've had with CP Hitchin we had sold through them a few years ago and Paul Dewhurst was so professional in every aspect. We have recently rented a property managed by country properties, throughout the application and referencing process Paul was extremely helpful, arranging check in and inventory / key sign over Stephen was very responsive and everything went off without a hitch, When we had an unexpcted emergency plumbing issue (that couldn't have been picked up before hand) we rang the out of hours service at 22:30 and had a reply by 22:38 and a plumber out the following morning. Joshua Bland was the lead agent we were working with while looking to buy our new home in Hitchin. He is patient, knowledgeable and not salesy at all. He never put pressure on us to make a decision. But he was always quick to respond over email and on the phone and actually made the purchase process enjoyable - which is something I have never said before about buying a house! I experienced renting two properties from this company and afterwards would never deal with them again. The second occasion an issue was raised and we terminate the contract early. They tried to screw us out of three months rent just to cancel the contract which is illegal, fortunately we found a government document about unfair charges and they immediately backed down. There was a whole mountain of other completely unreasonable charges. The bottom line is they will always side with the landlord and get as much money out of you as possible. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
