I can highly recommend this Estate Agent Our son has just completed the sale of his flat through Country Properties Hitchin. Because of the nature of his work, we were required to be a point of contact for both the estate agent and solicitor. Alex Sinclair and his colleagues were extremely professional, always eager to help and he worked tirelessly trying to liaise between the buyer, their solicitor and ourselves. It was a long process, but it would have been even longer if it wasn’t for Alex’s persistence. Our solicitor also informed us that Alex was instrumental in keeping lines of communication open. We’ve just completed the purchase of our first home through Country Properties and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The whole team was fantastic, especially Alex, who managed the sale from start to finish. They were efficient, honest, transparent, and delivered exactly what (and when) they promised. They completely changed any preconceptions we might've had about estate agents. When the time comes to sell, we’ll absolutely be coming back as this was a breezy process that did not live up to the stress I was expecting - this is largely down to Country Properties. Posting this again in retrospect (February/March 2023) as google decided to remove it. They clearly were discriminating against my partner and I. For whatever reason, I don’t even know. I am a nurse, had a good credit score, and My partner was a lorry driver and had an even great credit score and and we didn’t even have children then but they still refused to allow us to view the property. They came up with some flimsy reference excuse and didn’t even give me and my partner the chance to view the property. George went on and on about how we will fail the reference because I was still renting another property and how he thinks the property was not meant for my partner and I and that the landlord wants the property rented in a week anyways, so we should give this property up (it’s been over a month and the property is still on the market). This dude wouldn’t even give me a chance to say anything and I suffered major anxiety in the rest of our property search from how he dealt with me. Guess what? in the same circumstance, my partner and I were able to rent a property much better than theirs and easily passed our reference without an ounce of problem. I’m not even going to mention what our friend had to go through with them to.

My partner and I are first time buyers and have been supported massively by Country Properties Hitchin. They are just an incredible estate agents: such wonderful people make up the team and everyone is such a pleasure to deal with. Firstly all of the homes that Country Properties list are excellent, there’s something great for everyone. We found our first flat with them and we couldn’t be more delighted and excited. From Gil who showed us around the flat, Paul who rang us and brought us the good news that our offer had been accepted, Alex who has been our point of contact throughout the process. Through the whole process of viewings, sale agreed and sale progression, the team were absolutely amazing. Buying a house can be an extremely scary and overwhelming process, especially for a first-time buyer. Becky has been amazing during the whole process; she has been extremely responsive, checking in even when we had no answers, and she seemed to generally care about making the process as easy as possible. She went on holiday for a week when we were close to completing but she made sure nothing was left unanswered. Her colleague Tom called every day to check in and pushed on the process. I couldn't fault the service Becky and the team gave us.

It is my absolute pleasure to leave a glowing review for George, five stars just don't cover the wonderful service we received from him. We had quite specific requirements for the property we were looking for, we needed a flat suitable for an elderly gentleman (my Dad) we were keen for him to be located near me. The flat had to have access to the town and was of a suitable size for him to manage along with a price he could afford. I have very rarely experienced “above and beyond” like I did when I moved house with Country Properties. Moving from a shared ownership flat into a new build property meant that we were juggling a buyer, a housing association and a housing developer, working to an offer to completion deadline of 8 weeks, with all of the stress that came with it. Alex, Paul and the team could not have handled it better. They guided us initially with the optimal selling process, found us the right buyer in no time, and steered the ship like real experts. We recently sold our house through Country Properties - they were actually our 2nd choice having chosen another local Estate Agent based on price alone. Our first choice Estate Agents did actually sell our house after some time and a few sporadic viewings (perhaps due to the market at the time?) but we pulled out of the sale as our own purchase fell through. A week or so later, we decided to remarket our property through Country Properties. We had about 8 or 10 viewings on the first day and 2 offers by the end of the week. They also achieved £40k more than our previous estate agents. Throughout the sale process, we were kept informed at all times and Becky was great at pushing things along, answering any queries we had along the way. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Country Properties to anyone. They achieved the best price possible for us in the least amount of time. Everyone we dealt with was professional, friendly and efficient. Do yourself a favour and choose them first.
