I have just purchased a house with Ryder and Dutton Heywood, and can say the help and support from all the team was amazing. They were all friendly, helpful and kept me up to date with everything and if I was worried or wasn't fully aware the team Catherine, Ewan, Fran, Jenny, Tom & Gail were there with phone calls, emails and upto date news regarding the house or sellers information. I would recommend them 100% as they made the sale of the property stress free.

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. We have been dealing with ongoing damp and mould issues for around a year, yet despite repeatedly reporting the problem, Ryder & Dutton have failed to properly resolve it. Instead of taking responsibility and finding a real solution, the issue has been repeatedly pushed aside and excuses have been made. Extremely disappointing service and absolutely not an agency I would recommend.

Shannon in particular was so so nice

Shannon in particular was so so nice. We were told at one point the house was unsellable, and as you can imagine we stressed out like mad people. Shannon didn’t once make us feel like unreasonable people - we were we really were. And for that alone we thank you. The rest of the team were just as helpful when stepping in on her days off. Great experience.

Can't rate these guys highly enough. They helped me find and move into my home in just a few weeks. Paul was really helpful and attentive during the process, responding to any queries quickly, Freya was great during viewings, answering any questions or quickly finding answers if she didn't know. Had to pop by the office a few times and everyone was really helpful and friendly. Will definitely use them when I'm ready to look for my next home.

Veda was extremely helpful in every possible way throughout the buying process of my new home. She replied very quickly to my questions and enquiries, of which at times were quiet thorough. Great customer service! My chain was very slow due to having to wait for tenants to vacate my property, but Fleur kept in touch with me even when we were just waiting. And when everything finally started happening she was an invaluable point of call to get the other sides actually moving (they were definitely not as proactive). She always came back to me with updates and helped navigate any problems. She always put me at ease. The welcome gift with tea/coffee/biscuits etc was a really nice touch. Disappointing Experience with Unprofessional Service, but a Few Bright Spots

Our experience with Ryder & Dutton has been quite disappointing from the start. Trying to schedule an appointment to view a property was extremely difficult, and communication with the team was frustrating. The first time we called to arrange a viewing, they asked when we were available. I gave two dates, but neither worked for them. Instead of offering alternative dates, there was silence on the other end, no suggestions, no effort to accommodate us. The conversation felt awkward, with me asking all the questions, and it was so unhelpful that I ended up hanging up promptly.However, I eventually called back a few days later, and this time I spoke to a lady (Rachel, I think) who was much better. She was very professional and accommodating, making the process smoother. I also dealt with another lady, Lois (I believe), who was great to deal with as well. Both were a noticeable improvement in terms of customer service compared to the initial experience.The first property we managed to view was guided by a gentleman who was far from professional. He didn’t offer any guidance throughout the viewing and was generally unfriendly, leaving us with a poor first impression.On another occasion, we were shown a property by a young lady who was clearly inexperienced. She seemed to know very little about the property, and it was obvious she wasn’t prepared to conduct the viewing alone. It made the experience awkward and uninformative.When we made an offer on a house, I called for feedback, and the person handling my offer was uninterested and fobbed me off onto another colleague. It felt like they couldn't be bothered to engage with the process. I made two separate offers on this property, clearly showing my interest, and was ready to make a final offer of a few thousand below asking price. However, due to the lack of professionalism and how everything was handled, I ultimately decided to step away from the deal. Throughout this, we were left constantly chasing for updates, with little initiative shown on their part.It seems like Ryder & Dutton have a lot of local properties on their books but simply don’t have enough staff to service them properly. Given the poor communication and lack of professionalism, we chose not to list our property with them. This was further cemented by their high fees, which are among the most expensive in the area, yet the service we received was far from premium.We expected a more professional and knowledgeable service, but unfortunately, Ryder & Dutton fell short at nearly every stage.
