GoogleOver 10 years we have received excellent and friendly service from Homes and Mortgages Stevenage from all of their departments. They provided informed help when buying and a first class approach when selling. The property management team have been 100% reliable. All together we think they are brilliant team. Highly recommended!

GoogleWe recently moved to a new property in Stevenage and The agents were Homes and Mortgages and we were looked after by Sammie Button most of the way, Sammie was always keeping in touch and letting us know what’s was going on. Only had a small amount of communication with the other guys in the office but they were all very very helpful and officiant aswell. We would highly recommended Homes and Mortgages for anyone buying in the area.

FacebookHaving recently sold a property through H&M, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would recommend their services to both sellers and buyers. From the start Peter was proactive in generating interest in our house. Sammy was always available to answer queries and kept us updated throughout the whole process. I agree with others reviews that the team at H&M have a good rapport with local solicitors, and actively communicated with them on our behalf. Lee Kitching was fantastic dealing with the mortgage side, and is highly recommended!!! Overall I’d say the team were friendly and very professional, making our whole moving experience much less stressful...thank you!!!

GoogleAvoid this agency at all costs! Absolutely dreadful agents with no compassion or care for tenants at all. We complained of unmanageable mould in one of the rooms in our house resulting in us being unable to eat in the dining room due to the unsanitary conditions - these complaints were ignored even after many, many attempts to get help from the agency over a period of ~6 months. Our deposit has also not been fully returned, with ‘damage’ cited that was already present (and recorded in writing in the inventory by the agency themselves) before we even moved in. Even with evidence that this was not inflicted by us, no action has been taken to provide us with compensation for the unfair deduction. Rude and condescending letting agents - do not rent from this agency.

FacebookMy wife and I recently moved into Old Town from London and H&M were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We were buying our first property and everyone told us that buying a house is one of the most stressful things you can do, but this could not have been further from the truth and that is largely down to the service we received from Sammie Button at H&M. We are new to the area and after giving Sammie our criteria for a property and she managed to find somewhere that fitted us perfectly. Her advice was sound, she never once pressured us and gained our trust very quickly. Throughout the entire process of the purchase the service we received was efficient and easy. We would recommend to everyone. Furthermore, after our offer had been accepted, we were introduced to Lee Kitching who arranged our mortgage for us. We had spoken to several other mortgage advisors regarding our mortgage options and in every respect Lee was by far and away the best person we spoke to. He tailored a mortgage specifically to our needs and what we hope to achieve in the future. Much like Sammie, he was also a great person to deal with. Thank you to everyone at Homes & Mortgages! FacebookLooking for my first flat out of university to rent was made a lot more satisfying with H&M, both properties I viewed with Sammie were immaculate and the information I needed for starting a tenancy was printed out for me to look through at the viewing. Very transparent, communication was great, and the attitude from them was very much a 'we're looking to help you find a property that suits you'. During the tenancy so far, the same quality of service and friendliness has been upheld, I wholly recommend H&M for people looking to rent. Thanks!

FacebookAlthough we did not end up buying through them, i would highly recommend this company and in particular Sammie! She was always very helpful. I especially liked the fact she never put any pressure on us and really tried to understand what it was we were looking for. I am also very greatful to Sammie for putting us in touch with Lee the mortgage advisor who helped us get the best mortgage we could which helped us buy our perfect home.

FacebookWe bought our house through H&M who are very professional, friendly and helpful. Sammie was excellent from start to finish and really helped us get our house. Sammie also recommended us to Lee Kitching at JLM Mortgage Services, who is predominately based upstairs and arranged our mortgage. Lee was fantastic, a true professional and very helpful. You can get the whole package here and I thoroughly recommend H&M and Lee - thank you all again for all your help.

FacebookI recently sold my house and moved to rented accommodation and Home and Mortgages - (especially Sammie Button) were amazing at helping me find my new place and answer the many questions I had along the way! The whole process is a stressful one, but I felt at ease with H&M and Sammie was there the whole way to make sure it went as smoothly as possible. Would definitely recommend using them!!

FacebookThis agent is great until you pay the deposit and start paying rent, after that you are just a cash cow. At the very start they forgot to tell me I have a shed available for my use, then gave me wrong key and did not believe me when I said it does not fit. When someone has thrown old paint in front of my shed couple of days later I got checked upon and blamed even though I was not doing any redecoration and even though I said clearly the rubbish is not mine. My cooker broke down and I was asked to move it and to attempt to repair it (?!) and waited a month for a replacement, I chased several times. You will also get checked every 3 months like a naughty kid if you decide to rent with them. Unprofessional, shows how they don’t really trust their tenants. I would understand this at the beginning but this was going on through the whole tenancy. When the washing machine broke down we have been promised to get repaid for our launderette costs, we never got fully reimbursed, the washing machine took nearly 2 months to get repaired, again initially I had to chase a lot to at least start the process. To conclude my experience £200 was taken out of my deposit for ‘’cleaning’’. Sadly paying rent on time for 3 years without any complaints does not mean anything. Not to mention that the property we lived in had poor insulation and water was coming in through the walls, but fear not it was well explained to me that the mould is there because we are ‘’breathing’’…sure… So clearly when buying my house I automatically took my business elsewhere. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with H&M anymore. Just to think of my experience increases my blood pressure.

We have received no complaints from you we just have our usual file notes. Inspections are standard practice I am afraid to protect our landlords asset and unfortunately paying your rent does not mitigate your obligation to clean when you leave. We hope that you contact us directly with any issues you have as we do care about your experience. Whilst writing just to let you know that as you did not forward your mail we have lots of post and a parcel that you are welcome to collect from our office by appointment. GoogleThe WORST team ever!! They do not care about the health and or safety of their tenants at all, just money driven, thus leaving tenants to sleep on broken beds or floors in their 'furnished' properties. They are quick to collect rent, but slow to fix issues. When you move out, they charge an extortionate amount for a 2 minute check and key collection- is that even legal really? It does not matter how long and well you have kept the property, they never want to treat their tenants well as a good gesture. Even friends of mine have complained about the horrible treatment they received from this rude and condescending team, especially when it comes to tenants complaints. Yolanta appeared more efficient and caring however and pushed for things to be done. WILL NOT RECOMMEND HOMES AND MORTGAGES!!!

While we accept that tenants would sometimes like a different outcome we do pride ourselves on our service standards and delivering on our duty of care. It’s often said that some people go that extra mile. In Peter’s case, he did an extra marathon to get the house sold following a few unexpected house problems. GoogleWe instructed Homes & Mortgages to sell our house having been impressed with Robert, the Agent that showed us around another property. His common-sense and honest approach meant it sold extremely quickly - he kept us updated regularly, handled any issues with professionalism and humour and was always on the other end of the phone if we needed him to answer any questions or provide reassurance.

GoogleThis is the second time we are buying a property and we were bit hesitant of picking a high street agent and going with online one. As I had a terrible first time home buying experience with high street agent. But H&M surpassed all my doubts. They explained to me all the pros and cons. In the end I was super happy choosing H&M. They have a good rapport with the solicitors and made my life easy. Always kept me upto date with any progress. Special mention goes to Sammie as she was friendly and explained every step of the process. I would highly recommend this local agents as they are up to date with Stevenage market scenario and very friendly to first time buyers like me.
