Untrustworthy, lazy, never call back as promised and two weeks before our move into a rental property, having sold our house, our tenancy application was cancelled. We had agreed to pay a year up front, take the property as soon as it was available and met every demand such as the credit checks etc. But a worker in Carter Jonas decided not to try to make the deal go through for whatever undisclosed reasons she may have had. My advice would be if you want a roof over your head don’t go anywhere near Carter Jonas.

Worst renting experience of my life.I can go on and on about our awful experience with this branch of Carter Jonas but I don't want to waste any more of my life with this lot so I’ll try to keep it brief, factual and informative. (Also if you look at trust pilot and see the ratio between good and bad reviews, the number of reviews people that rated 5* have left and also read some of the reviews, its clearly incentivised to leave a good review, my opinion).If anyone would like the FULL detail, please get in contact with me and I’m happy to show you everything I have and explain in detail.From day 1 it seemed like this branch of Carter Jonas were against us. They were never on our side when it came to the numerous amount of disputes we had with the landlords property - the landlord even slipped up and told us how Pauline (an associate at Carter Jonas) was pulling the strings on some of the disputes we had, advising the landlord to just shrug us off (might have been just pushing away the blame).Move-in was horrible, the place was disgusting, rubbish left in the garden, broken cabinets, lights, holes in the walls, unclean, dead animals and insects and lots, LOTS more. We were simply brushed away when we complained about the condition of the property time and time again, however we made sure to take as many pictures as we could and save all the emails as we knew Carter Jonas and the Landlord would try their luck.When it finally came to leaving the dump, they decided to charge us over £700 for cleaning and damages. We admitted there were a few minor cleaning issues (couple of stains on the carpet, outside windows needed wiping, sink needed wiping, a few crumbs left on a counter etc.). The checkout was done by Jessica, a property manager, she failed to read the original inventory report and took pictures of problems PRE-DATING our tenancy! She also failed to read the numerous emails we sent complaining about the state of the property which we later used as proof that the problems were already there before we moved in! To add insult to injury Carter Jonas decided to pay over £400 for a full house clean when the cleaning problems could have been fixed by a professional cleaner in a matter of 30 minutes.Now clearly I’m biased but we disputed this £700 with TDS, I have a report from the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) adjudicator which backs our case and everything I’ve said, in the end we got almost £500 back from TDS. Okay im rambling now.. here's the facts:In our 1 year tenancy we experienced; 1 dodgy fuse box 2 major leaks3 hundred holes in the house4 billion spores of mould7 mice in the house20~ broken bits of furniture/fixingstons more stuff but ive spent enough time on this now

My partner and I went to view a rental property with our children. We decided we loved it and put an application straight in and received the acknowledgement email. We didn't hear anything following this so we chased it up... and chased it up .... and chased it up! .... Carter Jonas kept making excuses, 'we've come through to the wrong department', 'the agent dealing with us isn't it' etc etc. They just NEVER responded, awful way to treat a family with young children who were excited to move into their new home. You are dealing with people's lives! Never known anything like this. Presumably we weren't strong candidates for this property but actually telling us would have been appreciated! We went by a little while after and new tenants were already moving in. Appalling services!.

GoogleI have worked in the property sector for 10 years. In both my work and personal life I have had experience of poor estate agents on more than one occasion. That being said, my experience with Carter Jonas was nothing but positive. I think the key is the fact that one person deals with your transaction constantly throughout the process. Amy is experienced, professional and efficient and cut through the procrastination that conveyancing is full of. We achieved a completion in 27 days, and that was down to persistence from both parties, but also from Amy. Carter Jonas are not a high volume agent, and it shows. You are not a number and you feel your business is valued. I would not hesitate in using them as a purchaser or vendor in the future.

GoogleWe recently sold our property with Carter Jonas and I have nothing but praise for the service I received. Without exception every one I dealt with was friendly, helpful, calm and professional although special mention to Simon Wright and Alison Bulmer who were my main contacts. Once we had sold (very quickly) Simon told me that his work was just starting and true to his word, I was kept informed every step of the way. I had advice and support and updates and never felt that I was just left to get on with it by myself. In summary, I received the service you hope for but sadly, rarely seem to experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

GoogleIf renting out a property I wouldn’t go with this agent. I enquired about a property and was told that it was too far for them to travel (although they have it listed online). I was told I’d be contacted twice and wasn’t. I’d be upset if I was the landlord and potential tenants had this issue.

I was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism of the Carter Jonas team (Igor, Sam, Zoltan and Ana). Everything from their cheerful phone manner, to finding a good tenant and conducting references, was top notch. As I live abroad, it is important for me to trust that my property is in good hands. A MESS in administration, making FALSE statements and BLAME the tenant in bad attitude!!!, , , Barnes branch. Two staff called to reserve a time separately for future tenant to come to viewing (They asked me to remove their names (The Associate Partner and the Assistant), not sure they were afraid of anything. But it’s fine for me as the fact that here is true.).The viewing was fine to me. But one day before the viewing one staff called and expressed no viewing on that day and asked for another day. It was also fine to me. Then another senior staff called and BLAMED and SCOLDED at me about the cancellation in BAD attitude and ARGUED with me. She was the senior staff of this company. Why the staff do NOT have any compromised before making arrangements? Why the senior staff use such BAD attitude to customer and not clarify that their staff was the one to cancel ???? Then they made up another story and called the landlord that I was not co-operate. What a nonsense and FALSE statement!!!!It’s their staffs fault and keep accusing others without any feeling sorry. I will keep to complain to outsider independence organisation if your company keep continuing to make false statements and accuse me like this.NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!

GoogleCarter Jonas were the selling agents for a new build property we bought . Lucy provided a first class service from putting down our reservation fee to completing on the property. She was always on hand with good advice and helped us through what is always a stressful experience with great efficiency and empathy. Lettings manager Kate was also extremely helpful in finding us a short term rental whilst the house was completed. Excellent service all round.

GoogleWe have been delighted with the service and delivery from Carter Jonas, and specifically James Spencer, who managed our property sale. From the moment we had our first conversation, we were pleased with the speed of response, practicality of the discussions and "does what it says on the tin" approach. We discussed options for the marketing process with James and the solution we worked to delivered a sale within 36 hours - no sign ever went up outside our house. James didn't delegate the small stuff - he rolled his sleeves up, always offered views and was spotlessly on time. Whenever he was out of the office, we were well covered with other team members who picked up the baton smoothly. When we hit a couple of challenges, James was proactive and pragmatic about what needed to be done, and he got on and did it. We have moved often, including around the world, and it is a rare thing to find an estate agent you really trust with their view and delivery - we found one this time, and would use Carter Jonas again and request to have James lead the process. Thank you - it's a stressful process selling and moving, and it's hugely valuable to be working with someone you trust who is professional and organised.

GoogleWe had 3 independent valuations on our property and were initially concerned as the Carter Jonas valuation was much higher than the others. We decided to go with Tony’s advice and after only 2 weeks on the market accepted an offer just under the asking price. We had to deal with a difficult purchase process, however Tony assisted at all times and we managed to exchange within 8 weeks.
