Buying an apartment at Pinewood Place

I downsized from a 4 bedroom house to my beautiful 2 bedroom apartment at Pinewood Place. Helen Niles made the purchase procedure for the apartment as easy as she could. Helen has a lovely professional yet friendly personality and was always available to answer my many questions. I was encouraged to view the apartment as often as I wanted to. Helen even helped me to measure up to ensure that my furniture would fit! The admin side of moving in was very efficient and I was very pleased with the whole experience

CASTLE GARDENS

We moved in to our house in September and are comfortably settled in. The house is beautifully equipped and fully meets our requirements as a retirement home. There were some minor problems when we moved in but these have all been dealt with in the snagging process. Elaine, the salesperson was incredibly helpful and patient during our long drawn out house sale. Linda, the estate manager, could not do more for the residents. A friendly community has developed and we are happy to be a part of it. MOVED

Lifestyle Improvement Thanks To Beechcroft Developments

We decided to return to Burford in order to be closer to our family. After viewing other retirement complexes in the area we decided on Cotswold Gate. The move from Wales was not without its problems but Beechcroft provided support throughout this time. Beechcroft also made our move considerably smoother by recommending a superb conveyancing solicitor, (Setfords), and a first class removal firm, (Barleycorn). Beechcroft Sales staff and particularly Sandy worked very hard behind the scenes to make sure we completed our sale and purchase most expeditiously.

A big move from Kent to Oxfordshire

Downsizing from a large family house and moving from Kent to Oxfordshire to be nearer my family was always going to be a challenge but I’m so glad I made the move. Castle Gardens at Watlington is a lovely development, lots of green space and beautiful gardens with well designed houses and apartments. My house is spacious, light and airy, with high internal specifications, fixtures and fittings. Settling in nicely now, enjoying my new home and surroundings and making new friends. Special thanks to Elaine at Beechcroft for steering the purchase through and to Linda, the estate manager, for making settling in so easy. A pleasure to be here.

Highly professional and supportive.

Our experience from beginning to end of the buying and moving in stage has been fully supported and highly professional. Helen was with us every step of the way through the ups and downs of selling one property and buying another.

We moved to Castle Gardens five weeks…

We moved to Castle Gardens five weeks ago. Although slightly apprehensive prior to the move we need not have worried as we settled in very quickly and have no regrets whatsoever. Our house is beautifully constructed and kitted out. Castle Gardens is a spacious well laid out development which has been thoughtfully designed with a variety of accommodations. Elaine in the Sales office has been extremely helpful and goes beyond her remit and is well supported by Lewis the Site manager and Linda the Estate manager. Watlington is a delightful friendly town.

So glad we chose to be here.

The friendliness and help we have received is fantastic. Elaine has been amazing as have the rest of the team. From the first viewing to when we actually moved in and thereafter. The apartment is so spacious and extremely well built. Any issues have been resolved immediately. Our neighbours are lovely and we know we will be really happy here.

I'm delighted with my new home in Watlington

I'm delighted with my home in Watlington and would highly recommend the development / location. The house is very well designed and, despite this being a downsize for me, it doesn't feel like it. The quality is excellent, the storage is very good and the property is energy efficient. Although I've only been here 3 weeks, the other residents have been very friendly & welcoming. I must give special mention to Elaine, the sales manager, who has been supportive and informative throughout the process - she really knows her stuff. The site manager & his team have also been great and dealt with minor snagging very promptly. All in all, I am delighted in making the move.

We moved into our house in Castle Gardens in November, 2022.

We moved into our house in Castle Gardens, Watlington in November, 2022, and are delighted with the property. With any new build there are some issues and snags but these have been attended to by Elaine and the Site Managers efficiently and effectively. Also the communication with Elaine and her team through the purchase process was excellent. The location of Castle Gardens is close to a lovely small town with individual shops and restaurants.

My move to Beechcroft

My move to Beechcroft, Cotswold Gate went very smooth, There was a problem with the tumble dryer This was changed very quickly. The Sales Consultant at the development, Damian Fairclough, could not have been more helpful.Unfortunately, the Broadband which BT advised me in the middle of May would be in place when I moved at the end of May has still not happened, today being the 23rd June. BT and Open Reach seem to be blaming each other. This does not seem to be Beechcroft's fault , but Damien has tried very hard on my behalf to get this sorted.Apart from this, my first few weeks in my new apartment have been very good.

Beechcroft at Cotswold Gate

We have been extremely pleased and impressed with the manner in which Beechcroft Developments have handled our purchase. From the outset when we were first sent a brochure, to our meeting with the Sales Consultant, to viewing the properties available, and ultimately towards completion of the purchase, the approach has been highly professional. The Sales Consultant was in regular contact with us at each stage of the process. He gave us clear and comprehensive information about the development as a whole and has always been attentive and responsive to our questions and sensitive to our particular circumstances during the conveyancing process. Since we have been installed in our new apartment the follow up Customer Service team have been extremely helpful in ensuring that any concerns of issues we raised were dealt with immediately. To conclude we would highly recommend a Beechcroft property.

Cotswold Gate by Beechcroft

The overall design and specification of the property, the development and having the right apartment in the right location was the deciding factor for us to buy at Cotswold Gate. Being able to purchase a property that we knew we could walk in to, drop our bags and start our new adventure in the Cotswolds was our motivation.Whether you speak with someone on site, in sales or head office, they all pull in the same direction and strive for the best customer service. They care about customer satisfaction and their 1st class service is instinctive. We felt this is so important, as many companies don't focus so much in this area. After residing in our beautiful new home at Cotswold Gate for 3 months now, we believe we have achieved our ambition to downsize and relocate successfully. Our new adventure has begun.....

Early days with Beechcroft

I have recently moved into a Beechcroft apartment and having previously owned a new build home, it was interesting to compare the “snagging” process in both.Beechcroft provided an employee from the beginning who let us know he was there to attend to any problems. There were inevitably several minor problems which he addressed fairly quickly and cheerfully in the few weeks he had with us. The larger problem was with the finish of the windows and doors. But here again, the Customer Relations Officer for our development has made an appointment to address the problem and being an optimist by nature, I am hopeful that we can resolve matters. We chose this home for its suitability to our needs it’s appealing design and its location - and overall so far, the experience has been positive and again, I am hopeful that we will continue in this way!In my previous new build home, with a bit of tussle, problems were eventually resolved but over a period of 18 months.

Castle Gardens is a small Retirement Village

Castle Gardens is a small Retirement Village which is unique. Very pretty gardens and very well built assorted properties. The Sales side of Beechcroft is managed by Elaine who looks after and deals with any problems the residents may have. Linda is the Estate Manager and she too is incredibly helpful.

Disappointing

I moved into a Beechcroft development four years ago.Almost immediately I began to discover many flaws which should not be present in development designed primarily for those who have retired. There are many 80 and 90 year olds here.So..Why would a developer put in a freezer that needs defrosting?Or heating controls where the numbers are so small as to be difficult to read, when there are others more suitable on the market?Or a bath which has sides too high for most elderly people to access and no suitable grab rails for those who can.Or an electricity meter which is so high in a cupboard that I have to find someone over six foot two to read it?And why use paint in the kitchen which can’t be washed when marks appear and indeed why use paint throughout which is a mixture, when there are plenty of shades of white on the market to choose from? However, it’s the aftercare- or lack of it- which is most frustrating. Many residents have had serious problems with drains or gutters for which Beechcroft has been reluctant to take responsibility. There is a problem of standing water on the tarmac outside one block of flats, when it rains and no drain to get rid of it. The same tarmac has so many patches on it, where it has been dug up when trying to sort out some of the drainage problems that it is now an eyesore and certainly not in keeping with the expensive properties .Some residents have e-mailed Beechcroft to express their concerns on matters relating to faults which clearly relate to poor building practices but have had no reply.

Pinewood Place

I moved into Pinewood Place in Windsor at the beginning of August and I am absolutely loving it. People are very friendly and my flat is so comfortable and easy to maintain. The estate is kept in pristine condition, clean and well trimmed. Now that the weather has turned colder I am amazed by how much cheaper my heating bills are. I am still working and find it very easy to pop in and out to London for meetings and theatre. And so handy for Heathrow!

Moving to Cotswold gateEssentially the people who were…

Essentially the people who were incredibly helpful and di what they said they would do. Made helpful recommendations without making us feel under pressure. Some we used and some we went our own way but at no time did we feel under any pressure. Since moving in issues, not many, have been dealt with efficiently although not necessarily speedily unless they were genuinely urgent. A good professional team.

Lovely apartment but lack of support from head office

Very poor support for building services such as phone, broadband, smart meter, car charger, heating. Rectification needed such as plasterwork corners and scratched windows which should have been remedied before completion of sale

Retail Property Cobham

I have been trying to possibly purchase a retail property that Beechcroft have for sale in Cobham. During the last four weeks I have telephoned on nine separate occasions and sent four emails - simply asking for details, cost, floor plans. What I have received from Beechcroft? Absolutely nothing not even an acknowledgment - if this is how they treat potential new customers I am thinking best course of action would be to give them a wide berth and avoid at all costs.

Orford Place - Ham Common

We have lived at Orford Court on Ham Common for over a year now and find living here a joy. After some initial snagging problems, these have been resolved to our satisfaction. The site sales lady, Carolann is very helpful and a cheery person to have around and is a great asset to the Ham Common development. Frances Langley and Mike Andrew

Find another developer!!

There are a number of issues with the house that relate to the original installation of systems that were not installed correctly. Hob extractor fan installed incorrectly so house stinks when cooking. Just had first big service of air pump and boiler system since build only to find out insufficient coolant added to system at time of installation. Beechcroft’s response is to deflect and refuse to take any responsibility for the original faulty installation of these systems because they are outside 2 year period. We just bought the house which is only 3 years old. The customer service guy even remarked that he hadn’t come this far in his career by paying for these kind of claims. Shocking.

We have withdrawn from our purchase

We have withdrawn from our purchase due to Beechcroft misleading us through the sales process. 2 adjacent properties were not advised to us, the location of a new roundabout was advised differently to publicly accessible drawings/data, an advised 5-6 executive house development next to the estate is in planning for 100 houses! We were told there was a knack to opening the defective loft ladder! An onerous lease totally in favour of the Landlord. A non for profit organisation which charges 16% of the maintenance fees (which is excessive at £3,200 p.a.) as Management Fee. It's an over 55 retirement complex and the lease stipulates that visiting family can't use/play on the common grounds that are paid for under the management services fees!! No CPI mechanism or dispute resolution process (if you don't pay the charges after 21 days they have the right to terminate the lease, yet there is no dispute resolution process!!) plus too many other onerous lease conditions. If you consider buying one of their properties, go into it with your eyes fully wide open
