I’ve never written a review in my life…

If I could give negative stars I would. These people are purely incompetent and it should be made known. Whether it’s deceptive marketing tactics (even for real estate agents, come on 3 year contracts are not a thing) to “property management” that includes: live fire hazards in the property for several months, broken doors/windows, no heating for several periods during the winter, short fuses that emitted smoke in the bedrooms. You really cannot make this stuff up. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Notice any positive reviews below are all generic and really add nothing, I guess the customer relations team has nothing better to do

GDPR breach

This estate agents and its staff are shocking. They have a total disregard for GDPR, as they have repeatedly called me 12 times, when then have never been given my details. Each time they have been advised of the wrong number, yet they still persisit in using a telephone number they have no permission to have stored on their database. If this is how they conduct themselves with a complete stanger, I cannot imaging how they treat clients!

ROGUE LETTING AGENTS - WATCH THEIR ACTIVITY ON RELETTING

Rogue Letting Agency. Avoid if you can. On reletting they will get you to sign the reletting agreement including the Landlords signature so you think all is above board. You'll be led to think all is fine except Dexters do not act in Good Faith and do not 'Execute' the contract until the last minute. They rely on the word of the 'Binding Date' despite DocuSign being legally binding and having an audit trail of dates when the Landlord signed and you signed. In the background Dexters bide their time before coming back to you demanding additional rents to execute when you have no time to consider or look elsewhere, whilst they convince the Landlord they can get more rent for them 'in the market'. Its all about Dexters commission and greed. Make no mistake - Dexters do not act in good faith. Amazed The Property Ombudsman’s has anything to do with them - clearly they do not regulate them.

Apartment destroyed under their management

My apartment has been in the family since 1988. It was given to Dexters a year ago on a full management contract, they had supposedly vetted the prospective tenant, the tenants partner assaulted the tenant the police kicked the door breaking the lock to get access, arrested the partner. The tenant also had a large dog in the apartment which I abd the Managing agents requested Dexters to ask the tenant to remove, the apartment carpet, walls and wood work were destroyed by the tenant, the tenant did not pay the council tax, water charges, electricity or tv license. After the flat was vacated by the tenant, dexters rented out the flat immediately without informing me of the damage to the flat then requested I pay £1500 for repairing the walls and woodwork and over £1900 for a new carpet to replace the carpet destroyed by the large dog.Avoid Dexters at all costs, they are a property management company that operates at a substandard level. Look elsewhere. They only have their own interests ate heart and do not care at all about the landlords interests.I've left messages the last 2 days but no call back, they have my number, making money is their primary aim, landlords interests do not feature. Its affected my health.

Very disappointed!It took them 33 days to tell me they are going to return part of my deposits. I emailed back said i will enter dispute process because the deposit claim is not reasonable, but they told me the time frame to dispute is within 10days of end of tenancy.:)Since i moved out i kept chasing for an answer but they delayed response till 33days later. And they claim they did professional cleaning to the flat, and they charge it to my deposit. But the truth is, i already booked professional end of tenancy cleaning service when i moved out and physically inspected the cleaning was done.I do not get why should I pay for a duplicated cleaning service. And why i should accept the outcome that their ignorance lead to missed the dispute time frame of 10 days.In a word, if you are looking for flat to rent, i highly recommend, do not use Dexters.

Would not recommend at all

Would not recommend at all! Typical agency, rude and better than anyone else. Got a rent reduction 3 months ago and they keep saying they are dealing with it and refunding the over payment. They didn’t and now blaming us! Direct debits bounced due to this and they think it has nothing to do with them. If this was the other way round and me not paying it would be a totally different story. I’m lucky I’m in a position to move money around but that is only the last few years.. back when I started renting I would be in trouble! Dexters think they are above anyone else and other peoples circumstances. They could not care less! I ask everyone not to use or move away from this company. Let’s think about how people starting out would be suffering right now.

I phoned Dexters and Donalina Gargrupe handled both problems for me quickly and effectively and with a friendly, polite manner.She kept me informed (the problems ranged over a week due to a miscommunication with a maintenance company) and was quick to chase up the company involved. "I would like to say that this estate agency is fantastic. Very professional. I have been in communication with Luke who has been a great help. I would highly recommend his service to anyone looking to rent a home. " (UPDATE) This review above was left solely because I was requested via email by a Dexter staff member to leave a review has he needed it for a meeting regarding his trail period at Dexter Muswell Hill. I was literally just trying to put in a good word to help a man in a job he was obviously keen to keep. I will state that I have decided to reduce my 5 star review to 1 star. Why? I must say our experience has been terrible. We took the day out to view a property, and after the viewing and a brief conversation regarding referencing, we have had no response since to the many calls, messages and emails left. The one email received was this request to leave a Google review in favour of this staff member, but after that we have been totally blanked. It takes nothing to simply let people know the outcome or update them on a viewing. I know there are many good reviews for this company, and it is one of the reasons we proceeded with them, but for us its a poor poor service.
