Absolutely appalling unprofessionalism

Absolutely appalling unprofessionalism travelled an hour out of my way to be spoken to extremely rudely by an estate agent. He greeted me with a “here for flat x?” I said yes and he replied “both gone” with a laugh. He then followed up with “I’ll show you another one” and I asked if it’s the same price he laughed again and said “no”. Which was extremely unprofessional. He did not apologise once nor attempt to contact me in spite of me staging the viewing yesterday afternoon. Flats go that’s not a problem, failing to call someone who has a very busy and demanding job to tell them beforehand is simply outrageous. I will never view a property with Dexters again.

Dexters - Superb service

Charlotte and her team of property managers provide a superb and highly professional service to me - and to my tenant (which is important as well of course.) The team are diligent, hard-working and contactable as well as being really proactive and very quick to flag any maintenance or tenancy issues. I've been with Dexters for nearly 10 years now as a landlord and just wouldn't go anywhere else. I've got total confidence in the team to manage my flat and would 200 per cent recommend.

Ella has been a complete gem

Ella has been a complete gem! So grateful for all her hard work to help us get a new dishwasher when ours gave out. We told her about my mobility being down and that we had a baby under 1 - so without a dishwasher we were in quite a pickle! Ella was amazing - she chased everything up for us and got everything organised so the new dishwasher came within a week! Couldn’t recommend these guys enough 🙌🏼 Thank you so much!

Great service and communication

During our 2 year tenancy the property we lived in was managed by Dexters property management, the staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. Whenever there were issues with the property, we were able to reach someone who was able to provide assistance. Nikki Harris was managing the property we lived in, the five of us who lived there would like to thank her in particular for her consistent help and advice throughout the tenancy, she has always been massively helpful regarding any issues or questions we've had. For a few of the people living in the property this was their first time renting, Nikki always took the time to explain things clearly and in a way that helped us to understand how issues were being dealt with. Any issues with the property were always addressed as quickly as they could be and we always felt in safe hands. Many thanks

We have worked with Dexters since 2019 and are landlords of one property. There have been ups and downs with tenants and we have found a way through working together. Having a key contact who is readily available is most helpful, particularly when there are tricky minutiae to deal with. We have worked with several members of staff in this capacity over the years; always seeking to be helpful and supportive. The level of professionalism has generally been high. Currently, Sherina Downes is our point of contact; she is excellent and deserves five stars on her own. Great communication and sees things through.

Property Management Team Member/Customer Service

Viraj based in the property management team in Loampit Vale is so proactive and on the ball. He gets things done and sorted and always knows the right people to contact. Shout out to Paris & Paulo!

We recently had a flat inspection carried out by Paris, Senior Property Manager. Prior to the inspection, he asked if there was anything specific we wanted him to look at. I raised a couple of issues and within a week he had the Maintenance Engineer Paulo come out and carry out the necessary works. Paulo was efficient and did an excellent job sorting the repairs he could. He was also so friendly & understanding of the fact I wasn’t well.

I have unfortunately nothing good to say about my experience renting through Dexter's Chelsea Harbour which is a great shame as things started off perfectly fine. Throughout my tenancy, there were multiple issues with the property I was renting. This included, a faulty boiler that nobody could fix which costed me a fortune as the immersion heater was permanently on, laminate peeling from beneath a bathroom sink that deteriorated so significantly I sliced my thumb open despite requesting dozens of times for it to be fixed. Electrical issues, cosmetic issues a dishwasher that kept leaking and dozens of other problems. Dexter's Property Management could not have been more unhelpful throughout the ordeal if they tried. Barry Dillaway is particularly unhelpful and avoidant when trying to report / solve issues. Most of the time saying that my concerns had been "reported to the landlord" but never hearing anything back. Dexter's workforce is seemingly a revolving door, especially within property management so you rarely speak to the same person twice - probably as their hands are tied due to their management not being able to make decisions and them facing the brunt of the complaints. I mentioned cosmetic defects and missing items that they claimed was in the flat when moving in. However, the landlord, with the assistance of Dexter's are trying to claim that it is me who has now lost them when they were never there in the first place. The flat was at bright at night as it was in the daytime due to the office style blinds so I had no option, after requesting them to be changed multiple times, than to purchase bespoke fitted blinds myself with the permission of Dexter's. These blinds were a net benefit to the flat yet I am now being charged to remove them. They defend old-school landlord practices. Allow the current tenant to report all the issues, do nothing about them and trying to deduct everything from the deposit at the end to fix before the next tenant moves in. I would avoid Dexter's at all costs. Go and rent through a smaller agency who are proactive and can actually fix issues.
