I am disappointed that you felt it necessary to raise this matter publicly, particularly as the circumstances leading to the situation were explained in detail to your solicitor on 28 January 2026.
For clarity, our professional position is as follows:
You agreed to remove our client’s property from the market on the basis that you would proceed with a cash purchase, without reliance on the sale of your existing property. On this basis, you paid a deposit directly to the builder, not to Home Connexions, at a time when another interested party was actively considering the same property.
Several months later, it became clear that you were unable to proceed as a cash buyer and that your purchase was, in fact, sale-dependent.
On 28 January 2026, you requested the return of your deposit. As explained both to your solicitor and to you by text message, the builder has refused to return the deposit on the grounds that the terms of the original offer were breached. The builder has advised that the property must now be re-advertised, despite it being likely to have completed prior to Christmas had the alternative offer proceeded.
In conclusion, I would respectfully ask that any statements made in the public domain are factually accurate, and that efforts are made to resolve matters directly with the relevant parties before publishing comments online.
For the avoidance of doubt, it is the builder, not Home Connexions, who has refused to return the deposit.

Just decided to leave a review in relation to Home Connections we had our bungalow on the market the previous year with another estate agent 34 viewers later no formal offers we took the house off the market we then decided this year (Feb 2025) to try again we saw a beautiful apartment in mearnskirk put a offer in subject to the sale of our property I like the idea of using the same estate agent as the vendor as keeps everything in house and everyone knows what's going on Kenny came out and gave us a value and explained home Connections service and prices we accepted and contracts were signed viewers arrived but no offers ( now at the start we told Kenny our thoughts regarding why it didn't sell previous no,no,no your house will sell ) well it didn't I spoke to home connection about a strategy but all they could come up with was lower the price (get more people through the door) 30 viewers later NO offers I decided to again take the property off the market was told I need to give them 30 days notice now my gripe is very simple I have a beautiful 3 bedroom bungalow in newton mearns why can't it sell it really is stunning how I see it is estate agents are the new double glazing, car salesman tell you what you want to hear then when you're looking for support there not there when we parted company I didn't even get a letter or email explaining why it didn't sell (sign post down and away) that was it £300 down the drain a good marketing strategy would be if we can't get a formal offer in by a certain amount of time you get 50 percent of your fees back overall I'm pretty disappointed with it all and as a post script another estate agent contacted me (reminded me of a ambulance chaser ) giving me all the reasons why home connection couldn't sell my property but as usual they could but short of saying PROMISE to sell

Sorry to hear this is how you felt after marketing with Home Connexions. We are surprised and disappointed to read this feedback as when we last spoke, before you requested to be removed from the market, you assured us that you felt we had tried to do our best for you.
We always try to be positive about selling a property, as we are very successful on many occasions, so Kenny would have been hopeful at the time of meeting you that this would be the case.
As you stated we arranged over 30 viewings for your property, similar to the number of viewings the previous agent had arranged. Within the 1st few days of the sale we had 2 offers to bring to you. The 1st offer, after we investigated further, did not have the means to make the offer he did. The 2nd interested party unfortunately when waiting for a response to his offer from yourself, found another property more suited to his needs, so in turn withdrew the verbal offer placed.
The feedback for all these viewings was brought to you as soon as we received it and due to factors beyond our control, we received no further offers. We did at the time of withdrawal still have 2 Notes of Interest and further viewing enquiries, but you asked to no longer take viewers during your notice period, therefore we agreed at that point to just remove the property from the market. We believed no further communication was required as we had partied on good terms and wished you well.

A review probably isn’t enough to express our gratitude to Tony and the team at Home Connexions, Stuck in truly awful experience with another agent and a looming deadline set for an onward purchase, I emailed the HC office to explore their services on a Friday night.
By Saturday a member of the team called me back, advising that the owner, Tony Shand, would arrange to phone me. He did so that same day and then came to visit us on Sunday night. Pretty sure that’s his day off but this guy lives and breathes his business and really cares about offering the best possible experience for the people he works with. He spent an hour and a half with us that evening.
Tony was honest with us but encouraging, appraising our advert and giving what would prove to be sound advice for moving forward. I alerted him to our deadline and Tony guaranteed we would meet it well in advance, and explained how exactly he and his team would do that.
We came off the market on Monday and everything was seamless thereafter, fraud checks Tuesday; photos Wednesday; back on the market Friday.
When our photos and video tour arrived, we were genuinely blown away, the quality of the photos were superb, and the video tour elevated the property more. We could see the number of views on the video climb in line with viewings which were booked in steadily throughout the following week.
We went from sitting on the market and in limbo for 7 weeks with just six viewings, to TEN viewers being secured and diarised within 3 days of going live with HC.
We received an offer in excess of our home report by Thursday morning, less than a week after going back on the market as a new listing.
When I phoned Tony to thank him, he explained that this is what estate agency services in the UK should look like.
It's my view that it’s not like this was something extra-ordinary at HC and the quality here is simply part of the service. In addition, Tony essentially made good on his guarantee to us and our onward purchase is in motion.
Home Connexions were in contact with us in some way, every day from the moment we registered our interest in their services and their advice at the point of offer was invaluable (thank you Karen). They also sought proof of funds as part of the process to strengthen confidence in the offer we accepted.
The HC team supported us through our anxieties and were delightful in their approach, this was something our viewers also commented on - everyone was consistent, friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and encouraging.
With that, it doesn’t feel enough but we offer sincere thanks to all at Home Connexions, Karen, Christine, Cara, Emma, Kenny, if there is anyone I have missed I apologise - thank you so much for your support, direction and understanding every step of the way.

I have no doubt in my mind that if I had went to a Monday to Friday agent then there’s no way this would of happened so quickly or efficiently. Debbie kept in constant contact with me on Saturday and Sunday regarding viewers and offers and Karen was amazing helping me through the closing date process. We found Home Connexions to be problematical. Their sales person (I think ihis name is Tony) when viewing our property promised the sun, the moon and the stars.
The reality was a pattern of mediocre service to the point we eventually took our property off the market. I spoke to their office team on the 3rd of June taking our property out of their hands. We intended to allow the market to refresh and go back to market with Joyce Heeps Homes. In the meantime, in late September, a previous viewer returned to us with an improved offer and we negotiated terms of sale ourselves. Home Connexions nevertheless forced a claim for £1,800 in spite of the fact that we had dispensed with their services way back in June (more than 5 months later!!!).
Really mediocre service, poor communications - no advice whatever on how to improve the saleability of the property for example; and then a demand for payment more than 5 months after we'd terminated the relationship.

Thank you for your response re your experience whilst on the market through Home Connexions. Your review saddens and disappoints me as it does not reflect the customer experiences that we aim to offer to all our clients, reading all our other reviews from our clients gives me encouragement that we always operate in a fair and ethical manner.
I fully appreciate and respect your right to review your experience and would like to offer my response in bullet point fashion.
1. You invited our company out at 1pm on the 22/3/2023 to carry out a free market appraisal with the view of going to market, you also advised you were speaking to other Agents to gather comparisons which is normal in our industry, on leaving I left our official valuation pack explaining our services and fees and advised I was available 7 days a week if you needed any further clarification.
2. You invited our company out on the 29/3/2023 to officially put your property to market, at this meeting I prepared the sales particulars and the sales contract which you asked to read thoroughly before signing. The contract states clearly that you agree to pay Home Connexions the sales fee “if at any time unconditional missives for the sale of the property are concluded with the buyer introduced by us during the period of our sole agency “
3. During the marketing process we introduced 18 viewers along with your eventual buyer putting in a formal note of interest along with 3 offers being made which was accepted by yourselves on the 15/5/2024,on the 17/5/2024 we obtained mortgage proof of funds allowing us to put your home under offer, your refreshed home report was instructed on the 20/5/2024 which allowed your buyers to process their full mortgage application.
4. Although you asked to remove your property from the market I’m very surprised you stayed with Home Connexions for 15 months receiving “mediocre service” this time on the market is quite long in the Stewartfield Area however as we all know the public will decide what is or not for them and don’t really think an agent should be blamed if a property takes time to sell.
5. As your sale was progressing it became quite clear to us that we were kind of kept out the loop of your sale by various parties, making it quite awkward to hold professional conversations, bearing in mind a LEGAL CONTRACT had been signed by us both.
6. At date of entry it became clear that our legal claim for our introducers fee was not agreed nor disagreed for payment.
7. In a telephone call to the partner of your legal representatives I put our case forward re our fee and supplied all signed documentation. I have to say your legal firm were very ethical and quick in their decision to meet our payment demand.
In summary I have to disagree with your complaint and review, but do thank you for choosing Home Connexions Estate Agent to sell your home, and delighted you and Isabella finally made your move and hope you settle in soon.

GoogleCan't say any of the people I spoke to were in anyway other than polite my issue is with the company policy and speaking to other estate agents this doesn't seem to be normal on what happens.
Viewed a property on the Thursday, made an offer on the Friday was contacted by Home Connextions on the Saturday discussed my offer and got a phone call back telling me my offer had been ACCEPTED very delighted family. Was told as solicitors not opened until Monday everything is good to go they are happy to wait until then. I sent over my offer in principal at there request as this also showed security of the offer on my part and I was given congratulations on my purchase by Home Connextions. Due to this I cancelled other viewings I had booked also put in my notice on my rented property. I then received a phone call on the Sunday that there had been a viewing on the Friday night and they had now put in an offer so my ACCEPTED offer didn't count as the solicitor hadn't submitted it. It went to closing offers which I lost out on. The other bidder definitely had the advantage as they would have known my first offer but this just proves your word is not your bond!!! I also lost out on one of the other properties I would have viewed on the Saturday.
Would never recommend this company will never use them. If you do use them make sure everything is in writing do not accept what they tell you.

We understand your frustration with the situation. First of all we would like to assure you that at no point were details of your offer passed onto anyone except our client. As a company, we never disclose details of someone's offer to anyone other than our client and their lawyer.
We would also like to clarify a few points.
When your verbal offer was received on Friday, which was considerably lower that the Official Valuation, our client asked if he could have time to consider it as it was lower than expected.
On Saturday we advised you our client had accepted your verbal offer and asked you to follow it up with a solicitor's offer on Monday.
Unfortunately, at any stage in the offer process before missives are concluded, either party can withdraw from this agreement.
On Sunday another viewer also made a verbal offer which we are obliged to pass on to our client. After discussion, it was decided that the fairest way to deal with the situation was to call a quick closing date on Monday at 12.00 noon to give both parties the chance to submit their best offer via their solicitor.
As a result, our client chose to go with the other offer, and we have to honour their decision.

We had to sell my mums house in East Kilbride so she could move nearer us. We live about 360 miles away. With Home Connexions we found the whole process from start to finish really easy. Tony came round explained process and fee’s to us and left us his card. We did phone him direct to clarify some things. Thereafter as the process progressed we dealt with the office who were extremely helpful in both keeping us informed when anything happened but also in answering any questions we had and returning any calls when we left a message. This mattered a great deal to us as we were over 360 miles away most of the time.
On the whole I am really glad that we chose to use Home Connexions as our Estate Agents. The price our house sold for was the price Tony had mentioned in his original visit when we had asked for a rough idea as to what he thought the value was.
