I would highly recommend Martin & Co. Guildford to anyone looking for a reliable and caring estate agency. My son and I came to the UK from Ukraine, and finding a new home was one of the most important and emotional moments for us. From the very beginning, the entire team treated us with genuine kindness, patience and respect. They were always willing to help, answer every question and guide us through each step of the process. As English is not my first language, I was sometimes worried about communication, but everyone was incredibly understanding and supportive. They made what could have been a very stressful experience feel so much easier. What impressed me most was that I never felt like just another customer. The team genuinely cared and always went the extra mile to help me and my son. Their professionalism, kindness and compassion made a lasting impression on us, and we will always be grateful for everything they did. If you are looking for an estate agency that truly cares about its clients, I wholeheartedly recommend Martin & Co. Guildford. My experience with Martin & Co Guildford is the best I could ever have. I have been renting a flat from them for some years now, which is quite a long time, and they have always been excellent in all levels: In terms of professionalism, they are incredibly reliable. I cannot even think of once, for them not to provide an immediate respond to a maintenance issue. They have always acted very drastically to the slightest or the heaviest of a maintenance issue I may have encountered, with zero delay. Also, they are very organised and proactive. For example, every year when my tenancy agreement is nearly to an end, it is always them to be the first to remind me and ask of my thoughts on the prospect of a tenancy renewal. In terms of their attitude and manner, they are always very understanding, kind and friendly. Even to special requests on my behalf (such as to ask for a permission to get a cat for company, or now during the pandemic to delay some repairs being fixed as I am not very comfortable with people entering my place), they have always been open to listen to my needs and try to help out without turning any of my requests down. I feel I have been treated first as a human being, and then as a tenant. I feel lots of appreciation for them for this gentle & kind approach that they have shown. I feel as a 5year old that is being well looked after 😊 I honestly believe that what makes them so great, is all just down to the fact that they are simply a bunch of genuinely wonderful people. If people are genuinely nice, I guess it is very unlikely to mistreat others. So, this I feel is the case with Martin & Co Guildford team, and they are so nice. They are just nice people to start with. To conclude, I feel too lucky that it happened to rent a place from them. If it is to rent another place again, it will have to be again from Martin & Co Guildford. I trust them 100% for all my house living matters. I would not take the risk to rent from any other team & company, as I already know how superior Martin & Co Guildford are. Thank you for everything Martin & Co Guildford.

The stress and normal pressures of finding and securing a property were completely alleviated with the experience I have had with Martin and Co Guildford, Abi specifically is a credit to the business and has been nothing but wonderful, professional and a godsend to what could have been a stressful time. I have experience with renting properties and generally I would never take time to write a review, however for anyone else looking for a decent, no bias on landlord/tenant attitude just getting the best deal for both, I would highly recommend. Inadequate, unwilling to help, unresponsive, AVOID! These people are completely ignorant and simply not good at an already easy job. P.S. Richard, you’ve stated that you didn’t manage the property, so I’m unsure why you’re making excuses about not knowing whether the rent was paid and trying to make it seem like my review is about the reference my landlord refused to give me. I’m not leaving this review based on my experience with the landlord who advertised the flat with you, I’ve actually communicated with them directly, and we’ve reached a resolution. So please don’t misinterpret my words, especially when you’re not interested in understanding the full issue. The real problem lies with the staff at Martin&Co, who are happy to collect fees from landlords to list properties, but are completely unwilling to offer assistance or guidance (presumably because they lack the expertise) when issues arise. Throughout my two-year tenancy, I was repeatedly told not to contact Martin&Co, even for simple questions like how to find a technician, basic things that any competent letting agent should be able to help with. At some point, I was even told by an employee to not contact them again and that I am wasting their time - it was something mundane like how to find a gas certificate! You have said something about getting in touch with you - I have absolutely nothing to discuss with you as you clearly do not go by professional conduct and are trying to present the company in a different light. I hope people will read this carefully and not fall in this trap. It’s funny how your colleagues pestered myself and my ex flatmate until the point we paid all the money. Cheap behavior is what I can say the least!

We were extremely happy with the service of Martin & Co during the period we were renting through them. We know we can be quite demanding tenants, but they always tried their best to help us out and attend to problems in a timely and professional manner. In particular, Šárka, Abi & Steve were great. Where they really excelled themselves was when the house we were renting came up for sale. Even though Martin & Co were not the selling agent, they were incredibly helpful in taking care of outstanding maintenance issues and Richard Neale​ helped us to liaise with the sellers (who were out of the country). We were delighted with the outcome as, I believe, were the sellers. We are pleased to recommend them.

Standard service up until we checked out. I chased 4 times to ask for our deposit to be returned but was told the landlord was not responding to them. Despite the landlord not responding to the check out team, they were able to rent out the flat 2 days after we checked out. I assume they just let it out without contact from the landlord... After breaking the letting agreement by not returning the deposit within 30 days and after chasing again and finally being put through to a manager, "suddenly" the landlord responded and asked for a pointless £60 taken off, less than 1% of the rent we paid during the tenancy. At one point Martin & co. suggested we should take legal action against the landlord which involved getting a witnessed signature during a global pandemic - shameful.

Dont' go there. The moment I moved in the property I'm renting from them, I just had problems and problems. First with the washing machine, then with a leaking shower. A guy came for the shower but barely fixed anything and I had to call again, and they almost refused to send someone else. Also, central heating starts once in ten, the bathroom's sink is leaking too, and the carpet is disgusting, while they promised to wash it "professionally" before I arrive. The appartment is not well maintained and they don't care about the well being of their tenants.

I was contacted via facebook by a member of Martin and Co's team, as a negative review had been posted on their google page by someone matching my name and picture, and as they have no record of me using any of their services they were puzzled why. Given I had written no such review, and my google account is set not to reveal my full name and I do not have a picture uploaded I was very concerned. Upon searching I can see someone has set up an account in my name and stolen a picture of me. I have no idea why anyone would use my details - it is both fraudulent and a criminal to impersonate someone else online. I have flagged this up with google and will refer this to the IC3 (Internet crime complaint centre) if the review is not removed and the fake account deleted. I can only assume that someone with an interest in discrediting this company would go to the trouble to set up a fake account and leave negative review. I have left this review to make others aware of what is happening, and left 5 stars to balance out the fake 1 star review left by the fake account. I will remove this review when the fake review has been removed.
