We would like to thank Melanie Williams of Camberley Gascoigne Pees for all of her help. Although we used Purple Bricks to sell our house, we brought our new property through Gascoigne Pees. We had a huge lack of communication from Purple Bricks but Melanie at Gascoigne Pees kept us up to date, helped get us to exchange & was the person who actually informed us our chain was longer than originally informed. Purple Bricks could take a leaf out of Melanie's book for customer service, chasing & looking after clients. Many thanks Melanie!

Tom is extremely unprofessional and dishonest. We accepted an offer back in May from a buyer on the basis that the buyer was a cash purchaser. We were then told in July that this was not the case and he was applying for a mortgage. Only when we were ready to exchange and complete in August the buyers solicitors informed us that the buyer had a related transfer of equity, unbelievable. We were told it could take up to 6 months to sort out. We were very disappointed about being kept in the dark about this so late in the transaction. Had we been privy to this we would not have accepted the offer in the first place.

These agents in Basingstoke pressured me into making a holding deposit after seeing a property that I was interested in. I provided all the details for reference checks. They later came back telling me that my employers declined giving a reference until my probation is ended which is no fault of mine. I have contacted my employers personally on more than one occasion to get this sorted out, but was not successful. This agency contacted me requesting for a guarantor and as a foreigner, I could not provide the needed guarantor (UK home owner with £44k annual salary). The next few hours, the property was back on the market without saying anything to me about my holding deposit. When I contacted them, they told me I have provided false and misleading information (failed reference checks) which was very shocking to me. Avoid them at all cost.

I cannot thank Emily (head of lettings, Farnham office) enough for finding me new tenants after poor experience with previous agent (a completely different company.) She achieved a 35% increase in gross rent for me, too! I noted more proactivity in 3 weeks from GPees than in 3 years from their predecessors. I was kept fully informed before and after every viewing, and despite most viewings taking place in appalling wet weather there was never a sign of recent footfall across the brand new carpet. If I could give them six stars, I would!

Amazing experience from start to finish! The property was online within a couple of days of Zoe's initial visit, viewings were booked quickly but with consideration of our schedule - with Kim helping us at all stages of the sale too. Janene was also extremely helpful in chasing all parts of our chain to ensure we completed as fast as possible, keeping everyone up to date with the process. Ed was also really helpful and guided us through all of the paperwork, answering any questions we had with as much detail as possible to help us make the right decision for us. All in all we would definitely recommend the team at Chessington - we can't thank them enough for all of their hard work and perseverance!

We vacated a property rented though Gascoigne Pees in Guildford - 6th Sept. It's now almost a 1 x month and we still yet to receive our deposit credited back to us. There was a small deduction that had to be agreed with the landlord as a few minor areas were missed during the professional clean.

I’d actually asked a number of estate agents the same questions, and none of them were prepared to answer them or really help in any particular way. Spencer, straight as an arrow - answered them all. Right from the start we felt comfortable, the team were really friendly and knowledgeable. Jim Gordon in particular was very helpful and great to talk to, we couldn't have done it without him. The photographer took stunning photos which really showed off the features of the house. We decided to go with an open day, which was fully booked within 24 hours of advertising.Of those who veiwed the house, more than half put in offers. The team did an excellent job of keeping us informed and guiding us through the process.The house was SSTC within a week.We had issues with the solicitors, Jim went above and beyond to help keep momentum to see us through to completion.The fees were reasonable and competitive, especially given the level of service we recieved.Overall, the Gascoigne-Pees Sales Team really do believe that fostering good relationships with their clients is the key to success, making the time and effort to put them first, keep them at ease during one of the most stressful processes, and always giving the best advice.

I vacated a property earlier this year (28th march 2025)and mistakenly left a standing order active. As a result, a payment of £1300 was taken from my account on 31st March 2025 After I vacated the property, I contacted the landlord immediately and he ask me to contact the letting Agent (Gascoigne pees) for the issue as he doesn’t deal with the money side of things and he contacted the letting agent immediately, and they assured me they will refund would be processed within 1, 2 weeks.

I recently rented a flat in Basingstoke, through the Farnham office (I know it doesn't make sense?). It was an old building converted into 4 new flats. When I was handed over the keys on 30th June I was actually looking forward to moving in.However the flat was dirty as were the windows inside and out. The lights did not work in all of the flat apart from the hall. Most of the sash windows could not be opened. To be fair these initial issues were fixed within 3 days the flat should never have been handed over in this state.There was two large bins at the property filled with building waste and garden waste. No proper provision was made for proper bins that tenants can use and that can be emptied weekly.I tried to register for Gas and Electricity supply to the property without success, as the Gas meters that had been fitted could not be traced on the "National Database" On 14th June Southern Gas Networks (Distributor) visited the building and cut all gas to the building as they said the meters had been put in illegally.To be fair again, Gascoigne-Pees did clarify within 24 hours that this should not have happened and that the gas would be reconnected.So no hot water and no gas to cook on for nearly a week! And still no idea WHEN the gas will be reconnected??I have been in the flat for nearly a month and still no bin provision and no idea when this issue will be resolved.I signed the Tenancy agreement online (via verisign) and did not receive a signed copy from the Landlord. An issue that I raised as the contract is NOT legally binding until both parties have signed and each party has a signed copy.So I was given a paper copy to sign and send to Gascoigne-Pees in the post, which I did. Still don't have a copy signed by both parties though!There is only 2 flats occupied in the building (including me) and two lots of tenants to move in. So the bin issue is going to get worse unless Gascoigne-Pees and the Landlord can actually take ownership and resolve the issue.The lettings team at the Farnham office do reply to emails and let me know things are in hand etc, they do communicate the problem is NOTHING HAPPENS!This laughable saga is a good example of HOW NOT TO RENT A FLAT. And they expect me to pay my rent on time for this shambles?!!!

25th August, 2021: Apart from not providing necessary maintenance in a timely fashion to the property due to a leaking roof, which led to a much more expensive fix for the property owner, when my son moved out they made no attempt to pay him back his deposit or the overpaid advanced rent. Repeated attempts to obtain the money were met with stories and blaming everyone and everything other than returning the funds with promises to fix it, escalate it etc. After 5 months of giving us the runaround we ended up having to go through the Property Ombudsman to get it resolved. Update 16th September 2021: As of today, Gascoigne Pees are offering to short pay the advanced rent and have told the Ombudsman that the deposit has been returned, which it hasn't. This company employs liars, cheats and the morally & ethically bankrupt. Don't use them either as property managers or as landlords. Update, 12th October 2021, Gascoigne Pees have still not returned the deposit and short paid (less than 50%) the advanced rent with no explanation. They have lied to the Ombudsman and are still ignoring their legal responsibilities. There is currently no resolution in site…Update: January 2nd 2022 - The Property Ombudsman is about to decide on the arbitration, but Gascoigne Pees still owe over £1,000 and don't even seem to recognize that they owe anything. Unbelievable - we'll see how this ends up now that GP has provided TPO with their "Final Position" statement, which admits failures in dealing with the situation, but still doesn't account for the missing funds.
