GoogleMy family and I rented a property through Newton Fallowell Grantham for nine years without a single issue. When our landlady decided to sell, we were pleased to have the opportunity to purchase the property. However, before this was confirmed, we were served a 28-day eviction notice to vacate the home if we did not proceed with the purchase. This was a shocking and disappointing way to be treated after nearly a decade as reliable tenants.
Following completion of the sale, Anita informed all of our utility providers ( gas, water, electricity, etc ) that we had vacated the property, rather than completed a purchase. Instead of receiving 'congratulations' on becoming homeowners, we had to spend a week contacting and re-registering with all our suppliers to correct the misinformation provided directly by Newton Fallowell lettings team.
The final concern came following completion. After locking the front door and leaving the property at 7am, we returned home that evening to find the front door unlocked, with our spare keys left inside on the doormat in an unsealed envelope.
We have raised these issues directly with Anita, however our concerns have not been acknowledged at all. She has refused to provide contact details for anyone more senior in the team and maintains that neither she nor anyone from her team accessed the property and did not leave it secure.
All in all, it is a disappointing and disheartening end to what had been a positive nine-year relationship.

GoogleI rented a modern 3 bed house in Grantham. Throughout the tenancy I had no problems contacting Newton Fallowell for maintenance issues over the years, fence damaged by a storm; boiler repairs, loose roof tiles etc. All were handled very quickly; when the central heating went down I was even offered a temporary electric heater while the boiler was fixed. Gas and safety inspections were always carried out and new items such a carbon monoxide alarm and LED bathroom light were fitted when needed. Renting from Newton Fallowell was a stress free and pleasant experience; I enjoyed 17 years there, in addition to a further 2 at a previous address in town. Therefore, I’d recommend them to anyone looking to rent in Grantham.

GoogleMy husband and I went to rent a house through Newton fallowell. We arranged it with Anita. All questions was asked and we decided to go for it and paid £300 to take it off the market. We went through all the credit checks ect. My husband has a very old ccj that has been satisfied. Before we even paid the money to take the house off the market we asked if having a ccj that was paid and satisfied would be an issue. They said NO. Even the landlords was aware of it and said it was fine. Well my husband failed the check due to his ccj and that was it they got our £300. We then had to deal with a women called Chris. She was very rude, spoke to both my husband and I like we was children and didn't want to know. We then got told we could have a think over the weekend about sorting a guarantor out, we'll they only put the house back up for rent on the same day they said we could think about it. There a total sham and just want your money. Shame as previously I use to rent with them and didn't have any issues until now. Waiting for the manager to come back from holiday to make a formal complaint. We just feel lied to so they could make an easy £300. Which is alot of money! If we new a old ccj would have been a problem we wouldn't have been stupid enough to apply for the house. Never again.

Further to our conversation, I am sorry that you felt that you needed to leave a negative google review. As discussed, at the time of this review, the property was still appearing as "Let" subject to referencing and we had been turning away viewings over the weekend. We were waiting for you to come back to us to see if you had found a guarantor. It is a shame on this occasion that you couldn’t find one. I accept that there was some miscommunication and it appears that my colleague had informed you that you would not need a guarantor for a satisfied CCJ. She was unaware that the landlord insurances prohibit this from being the case. It isn't always going to be the case so please do feel like you can return to us if the opportunity arises. I apologise if you felt that Chris was curt with you, I am sure this was not her intention. While emotions were running high, she was just explaining the situation to you. As per our conversation, I have refunded the £300 holding deposit paid and can assure you that we are not running a scam. I wish you well with your property search and the future. We bought the property while renting a property some 3 hours away. On the day of moving in Newton Fallowell went the extra mile to get the keys to the removal firm who were unloading our items by the time we could arrive at the property. The office was closing for the bank holiday at 3pm but arranged for key collection some time after this. Our thanks to Karen and particularly Georgia for doing this out of normal hours.
We loved the whole process and cannot thank all concerned for their individual contribution to our purchasing the property. To say we are delighted with the property purchase and the purchase process from start to finish is a fair statement. GooglePlease be mindful that if you’re a full time working professional that lives outside of the area, their services aren’t available to you.
Unfortunately their policies are very much stuck in 1997, and unlike most modern estate agents in the UK, there’s no provision for virtual viewings. They don’t allow others to perform property viewings on your behalf, either, which is bizarre. This means that unless you’re able to take hours out of your working day to travel for a ten minute viewing, you’re unable to request a contract.
I can see why Grantham is struggling to attract investment and professionals, no one can move there!

GoogleNF were one of 4 Estate agents I enquired with when looking to sell our home. They provided the most realistic valuation and were able to fully explain how they came to that valuation. They were quick and slick in everything they did, and far more professional in their approach to every element of the initial process than their competitors. The only time it fell down was when the solicitors were involved - having been recommended by NF to use Page Nelson as their 'in house' solicitors, I would just say that they were truly awful. Very slow, unresponsive, borderline unprofessional in their dismissive email tone, and I would never use them again. That said, NF assisted me with hurrying them along and making sure the sale was pushed through, and so I have given them 5 stars. NF secured me an amazing sale price which was more than £10000 than the others wanted to go in at. Very, very impressive company and would use them again. We dealt with Karen, the sales manager who again was very professional. Every time we wanted to know something they would come back with an answer. Georgia was also very helpful. Within the first week I had six viewings. Amazing! Within a few minutes of one viewing, the potential purchaser had obviously contacted the agent to say she wanted to buy the property as I got an email making an offer. The agent was really on the ball.

GoogleBy the looks of the reviews the sales team are fantastic. I just hope no one has to deal with the very unrelible and rude staff in the lettings office. Recently found out why it's so hard to get through to them. It's because while standing in the office, I witnessed the woman hear the phone ring, take a look at it then totally ignore it. Waiting for them to get in contact with you when they say they will never happens. You put in an application for a property which they then decide has been taken by someone else, they follow different rules when you apply for a different property giving someone else 3 extra days to get their application in. "You will hear from us by the end of the day tomorrow" is their favourite lie, calling each day to find out what is going on and being fobbed off with the same nonsense. If you want to rent a property in Grantham, AVOID AVOID AVOID because it's more hassle than their properties and outrageous fees are worth
