We have had extensive engagement with a number of estate agents over the past five years and can say that McMillan, led by Barrie in our case, were exceptional in terms of their professionalism, communication and expertise. As with many house sales, there are those agents who will offer quick sales at a lower price rather than support the seller to achieve best price. We explained our position clearly to McMillan, who took our interests on board. The valuation process was smooth and accurate (another estate agent suggested a starting price almost £15,000 lower). The property visits were prompt and communication to us about the interest in the property and feedback from viewers was timely and constructive. Nearer completion, we ran into issues with the timely completion of a survey as well and McMillan worked tirelessly to ensure that this did not hamper the completion of sale, taking into account the Christmas and New Year break. We would have no hesitation in recommending McMillan to other sellers and would encourage anyone in this situation to ensure that, whomever your choice, the estate agent has sufficient resource and expertise to secure your sale. In our case, we were reassured of their service (front end and back end) and the level of service exceeded that which we had expected.
