FacebookI found a very nice flat in Edinburgh (Stockbridge) with the help of Ros Mills at Rettie & Co. I had seen an apartment that I liked but whose availability did not match with my moving plans. Ros then very proactively contacted me to tell me about a very similar apartment further down the street which was available sooner. I moved to Edinburgh from abroad and Ros has been very helpful with getting everything organised. I can definitely recommend Rettie & Co. to anyone who is looking for an apartment in Edinburgh.

FacebookRettie's in Berwick-upon-Tweed weren't actually my estate agent's but the agent's for the property I was buying. However, the entire team and especially Susan, kept me better informed than did my own agent's. When there were problems they were very supportive and immediately exchange occurred Susan telephoned me with the news. Meanwhile, my agent's in Essex didn't bother to inform me and all I have received since was a boring letter telling me they are no longer obligated to me. Thank-you Rettie's at Berwick-upon-Tweed!

She took away a huge amount of stress and kept the process very smooth securing a great tenant quickly and efficiently. With a move overseas she has also kept me right with all the paperwork and given me nothing to worry about whilst being away from home. Couldn’t recommend her highly enough. I won’t be using this company to sell my property. When I asked for a home report on a house I was looking at, I received a long-winded questionnaire that I had to complete, and I finally gave up. I want to use a company that will encourage interest from customers not put them off at the first hurdle.

Don’t trust Rettie with your property!! Short let my flat during the festival in Edinburgh through Rettie. I retuned to stained carpets and couch, damaged counter top and pots & pans. The kitchen was filthy including mold. The renter left empty toilet rolls, panties and condoms. Rettie didn’t have decency to let me know about the damage or repair/clean the flat. The level of disrespect for my flat from Rettie is unbelievable. Don’t use Rettie.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Retite and co Glasgow, and I feel compelled to warn others about their unethical practices towards tenants.From the outset, it was clear that this letting agent prioritizes profit over tenant welfare. It's apparent that they employ deceptive practices to exploit tenants financially and only protect benefits of their landlords. Considering the tenant demand is high they do not care about kicking someone out. THEY FORCED ME OUT despite paying rents for 3 years in a row as they wanted to increased the rent straight by £300 which was way above the gov guidance. I asked them for one months extension as it takes time to look for another property and they denied and said they will have an eviction order against me. How CRAZY that can be!!! A tenant who paid 3 years without missing a single payment and they couldn't let me stay an extra month till I could find a suitable place to relocate! Again protecting their own and landlords benefit!!They seemed completely uninterested in resolving issues or even acknowledging tenant grievances. It's clear they have no respect for their tenants and are more focused on serving landlords and maximizing their own profits.Adding to the list of grievances, the moving-out process was a nightmare. They unfairly deducted a significant portion of my deposit for "cleaning and repairs" despite the property being left in decent condition and when we got the end of tenancy cleaned from their OWN AGENCY CLEANERS. Attempts to dispute these charges were met with hostility and refusal to engage in any reasonable discussion.Overall, my experience with Retite and Co Glasgow Bath Street branch was nothing short of a nightmare. Their unethical practices, lack of transparency, poor communication, and disrespectful treatment of tenants make them an agency to avoid at all costs. I strongly urge anyone considering renting through Rettie and Co to reconsider and look for a more reputable and tenant-friendly agency. Save yourself the stress and find an agency that values and respects its tenants.

So far so good with Edinburgh based Rettie. I have encountered very good professionalism and support from both viewing agent Fiona and front line telephone agent Mia in. Very grateful for their calm assistance, in understanding my support needs. Thank you. Currently interacting with property manager Ruby, who appears promising. I will upload review updates as things progress.

FacebookI have rented out my flat in Edinburgh with the Jamaica Street branch for a year and a half now and I just wanted to say a big thank you to Emma Temby who has looked after it beautifully. She quickly found some wonderful tenants and since then has always been quick to respond to any queries I've had. Couldn't recommend her and the rest of the lettings team enough.

FacebookWould not recommend! I was accepted as a successful applicant to then pay a deposit before no paperwork was signed and let down the day before collecting the keys. Leaving me homeless as I ended my contract with my current landlord. Absolute disgrace as I had a melt down over the phone explaining my situation and they had nothing to say but it was “out of their control”
Hi Chloe, it is standard process that we take a full deposit to secure a property. All of our offers are subject to satisfactory referencing as explained at the outset. Unfortunately, you were not able to complete the referencing process which caused the offer to be revoked. Your deposit was then returned in full the following day. Useless. We travelled from the south of England to Edinburgh having been assured by one of their agents that properties were not let prior to all prearranged viewings having been undertaken. Firstly we received an email cancelling one viewing as too many people had been booked. I then noticed that a property for which we had a forthcoming 10am booking had been marked ‘let agreed’ on the On The Market app and on further checking saw that it had been removed from their own website. We received no notification and had to contact them to ascertain the position. It had been let. I emailed to clarify why we hadn’t been informed - no response. We then had a 4pm viewing at a different property. When my husband arrived for the appointment it had been double booked (for which there was no apology) and my husband had to view the flat in the company of two other people. Unsurprisingly I’ve still received no response to my email.

FacebookAbsolutely disgraceful company. They gave our keys out to contractors who never returned them to the office. We had workmen turning up at the flat whenever they wanted/without warning, once when my sister was in bed ! Rettie and co could not tell us who the people where or why they were there.. but could confirm the keys were never returned to the office making us feel completely unsafe in our own flat. On top of this we have just moved out and they are now trying to charge us £100 odd for cleaning alone (although my sister and I are professional cleaners) because of cleaning residue left over and also trying to charge us for having to paint some wear and tear marks on the walls which will be of further expense to us. We had lived in the property for 4 years! This company cannot be trusted, please save yourself the stress that we have insured and go with another letting agents.
Very similar issues regarding huge amounts being take off from deposits even though I hired cleaners to make sure every inch of the flat was covered. Disgraceful considering it's the middle of a Pandemic.

FacebookTerrible estate agent who just want your money! Rented a property with them in Edinburgh waited nearly 2 months for my deposit back where they then decided to take an unnecessary £72 off for ‘cleaning issues’ when the flat was scrubbed top to bottom and was cleaner than it was when we first moved in! Ridiculous company and would 100% never recommend to anyone ever.
