TrustpilotI used Keith Pattinson Whickham branch
I used Keith Pattinson Whickham branch. I have always found Keith Pattinson to be the best estate agents. In particular Ian Robson dealt with our property. He always acted in our best interests and secured the best sale price for our house. He was always contactable and kept us up to date with the progress of our sale. I would highly recommend using them and Ian in particular. He was very professional.

TrustpilotWould not recommend to a landlord.
Recently found a tenant for my property, told me it was a middle age working family with a home owner guarantor. They then decided they didn’t need a guarantor and added an 18 year old on the tenancy agreement, both without consulting me first. Complained and was basically told nothing they would do and suggested I take out rent insurance if I was concerned.

TrustpilotWaiting over 4 months for a repair....
As a tenant of Pattinson's for several years now, I am continually surprised at their ineptness, time blindness and inability to follow through with some of the most basic and simplest of tasks. For example - I had a leak in my living room ceiling, which required a contractor to cut round a half metre square hole in the ceiling.Although my landlord is always prompt to agree repairs and Pattinson's have an array of effective and experienced contractors on their books, it all seems far too much for them to organise.I have waited 4 months for the hole to be fixed and I'm still waiting. This unfortunately isn't unique. I'm embarrassed to have guests in my home so i have cancelled Christmas as I have no doubt it wont be fixed by then and I do wonder how the hole will increase my gas and electric costs. The worst.EDIT:Pattinsons have responded to this on the same day but have not emailed me the timeline as stated below. The ceiling has been damaged for 4 months. The delay was caused by Pattinsons and not the landlord or the contractor.

Dear HelenThank you for your review. We always try and attend to all repairs as quickly as possible, although I understand that it can be frustrating waiting for contractors to attend and provide quotes. As discussed on the phone, the landlord has authorised the quote and the contractor has scheduled to undertake the work next week. I have also emailed you a timeline of this repair, which will hopefully demonstrate that the delays have been outside of our control. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.

TrustpilotAwful experience
I was reduced to tears by Louise Wilkinson from the Blyth branch , she insinuated that it was my fault that the completion was taking so long. I told her she was driving me to suicide with her nasty remarks on every phone call and she told the solicitor to stop the sale saying I was not of sound mind. The sale of my flat went through. Bitter woman .... Also lied about the fees, was £800 more... I have never dealt with such nasty estate agents

TrustpilotPerfect
Sheila was always lovely to deal with and chased my queries up straight away, and Darren really impressed me when he came to do the valuation - really good local knowledge and enthusiasm for his work. Couldn't fault Pattinson's West Road branch at all.

TrustpilotWorst experience of my life
At the start I was asked if I wanted them to provide a solicitor and said that I would get my own but when the paperwork arrived it had the name and address of a solicitor recommended by them. I foolishly accepted this (without looking at reviews) as I did not think they would recommend a bad solicitor. I was very wrong. She was impossible to get in touch with by phone, I have never heard her voice yet. Pattinsons got in touch to ask if the buyers could move into my house (on licence) as they were sitting in the street with a furniture van full of furniture and 2 dogs. I agreed to this as I thought the money would go through in the next 24 hours and I had already moved out 4 days before and was living with my sister. It took 15 days for the sale and purchase to be completed and another 5 days before money went into my bank. This was all the fault of the solicitor that was recommended by Pattinsons as the buyers were keen to pay the money as soon as possible but they ended up paying stamp duty due to the delay. They moved in on 22 June and thought it would be settled by the end of the month. I have never had so many sleepless nights and stress and complained to Pattinsons and was told that nothing was their fault and to complain to the solicitors. They did have some sympathy for my predicament but were not accepting any blame. I am just glad it is all over with now and I will never move again.

Thank you for your comments and once again I would like to reaffirm as already previously stated the problems regarding your solicitor must be directed to them initially by raising a complaint and then you will have the opportunity of seeking further resolution with the Law Society. I am aware that Danielle gave you her full support as a sales negotiator and all agreements and contracts that you agreed regarding the buyers moving into the property prior to completion comes under the direction of you yourself and your lawyer.Buying and selling a property can be extremely stressful for individuals and we fully appreciate that. However we are not lawyers and therefore anything contractual has to come via the lawyer and this is where you need to direct your complaint. As you will see from other reviews we at Low Fell pride ourselves on customer service, and I believe as Branch Manager we delivered this. Our role is negotiating of the buying and selling of a property along with sale progression all of which we did to a very high standard.I do wish you well in the future and enjoy your new home.

TrustpilotUnprofessional approach
Legal pack sent 2 weeks into viewing. When I asked can I not sell without a electrical safety certificate and sell it as is even though the solicitors said I could Pattinson said its law to have electrical certificate. Long story short wasted my time and very unprofessional. Got a phone call recently from them to say I can sell without....really fuming

TrustpilotThe worst experience ever!!
The worst experience ever!! I have bought a property via auction but no one mentioned that it is a retirement property and I am far away from meeting the age criteria. Despite they had my date of birth and knew I am only 21 years old they sent me a contact to sign and changed me the reservation fee of 6k and they doesn't want to refund me. I am ready to sue them for misleading of information and misrepresentation.

TrustpilotLaw abiding citizens on universal credit refused
I enquired about a 3 bed property. My husband works fulltime and we have two young children and we are on universal credit. I was told that the landlord would not accept anyone on universal credit. I rang the agent to clarify that we couldn't even apply for the property because we are receiving universal credit. The agent said that they were sorry and it was the landlord's decision. We have always paid our rent, we have clear DBS checks we haven't ever had a speeding ticket and we would have had good references from our current landlord. I thought discriminating against DSS is unlawful.

Thank you for your feedback. Our referencing criteria requires a homeowner guarantor if you do not meet the affordability requirements for the property or if you are on Universal Credit. If you are unable to provide a guarantor who meets the referencing criteria, we would unfortunately be unable to proceed with your application. Please contact lettings@pattinson.co.uk if you would like to provide any further specifics about which property you are referring to.

Absolutely not professional and by far worst auction firm which I have had to deal with it. Cosidering I have bought house previously in auction. I have been misled by the Pattinson by not providing the necesary documents related to the house, considering the 6k of fee which they are getting. I'll add I have emil to the firm. As requested on google reviews by them. Unless they're going to pay the money which I spent.

TrustpilotPoor experience
Poor experience, phones not answered if they want to avoid speaking to you. Inflexible and refused to extend auction date until lockdown ended even though police were refusing entry to the village my property was for sale in - to maintain lockdown rules. Plus I reported the board with web details on missing after only a few days. Pattinsons offered to replace it only when I made a fuss about ineffective marketing of the property - BTW they insisted the marketing was completely effective. I allowed myself to be talked into selling with them despite initial misgivings. Entirely my own fault, should've listened to my gut! I own other properties and am certain they will be seeing no more of my business. I don't feel they are acting for me at all and don't feel in control of the property I own through their online auction process.

Hello Julie,I'm sorry to hear you feel like you have not had a positive experience with us. After looking into this, I can see that our staff did respond in full to your query within 6 working hours, and we also have record that we did agree to extend this the first auction cycle, despite recommending that this would not be the best course of action for your property. We have also offered to ask our local agent to replace the board as soon as we were aware of the issue. We understand that the current lockdown may impact viewings, however we can confirm that every party who has requested to view has been able to do so successfully, so no viewing opportunities have been missed. We have marketed your property extensively across 7 online platforms as well as marketing internally to our client list. We apologise if you feel like you have been misled, and please do feel free to contact us directly if you would like to discuss any of these issues further.

TrustpilotVery Rude and Unprofessional
Terrible experience with incredibly rude staff. Not being familiar with auction purchases I rang up hoping for some helpful instruction but instead got through to Vinny Dadhria who was very rude and unhelpful. Further to that once logged into my account they had left rude comments about me in the notes on the property. This is incredibly unprofessional and has ultimately put us off progressing with any purchases with this company.

TrustpilotPredatory
Predatory, excessive and misleading fees structure for auctions. Most auction houses charge 2% of sale price. Pattinson loaded 7.8% in various charges. £23,400 for an online only auction. Should be regulated, fined and disbarred.

I have dealt with Jodi in the Whickham branch of Pattinsons. It is early days for me in my property search and I am planning on moving into the area. Jodi has provided exceptional customer service and made sure I’ve been notified of all rental properties that may be suitable for me. If you’re looking for a property, I’d definitely recommend Jodi and the team at Whickham!

TrustpilotFeels very scammy
Feels very scammy. The moment we purchased, they sent us an invoice for £10,500 more than we had agreed on the phone with their sales rep, and then immediatley threatened to sue us for the extra money. Was also difficult to get them to send official invoices, but they did send requests for money in emails that were added up incorrectly, causing delays. Expect high pressure sales tactics and no mention of the real fees, which start at 6% of the property price. Do not assume something is true just because they told you it on the phone or face to face. Get everything in writing before you register on their portal.I hope the time i spent on this prevents someone else from being a victim. Im sure i wasn't the first person they played these games with.
