My initial experience with Aspire/Alexander Seymour was very positive; Chris and Zoey were responsive, friendly, and thorough in answering my questions. After a difficult experience with a previous agency, I was encouraged by their energy and dedication. However, as the process progressed, I found myself caught in a difficult position between the agents and my solicitor. It only became clear very late in the transaction that, despite my situation being "no chain without a deadline," agents on both sides had established a firm deadline. This created a significant amount of avoidable stress and required a disproportionate amount of my time to manage. The situation peaked when it was discovered that my buyer had not transferred funds to their solicitor by the planned exchange date. As Zoey was out of the office at this time, I was contacted directly by the other agent and left to manage the situation without support or the standard back-up checks one would expect. This lack of oversight resulted in us having to exchange and complete within five days, which led to my solicitor charging an additional fee for the expedited service. When I asked if the agency would cover this fee, given the lack of support and missed checks during the most critical part of the sale, I was told it is unlikely but the matter would be looked into. Despite following up after completion, I received no further response. While I was told after the sale that "the stress was worth it," I disagree. For a fee exceeding £7,000, I expected a level of professional support that would prevent such high levels of stress and additional costs. Ultimately, while the service was good when things were simple, the necessary support was not there when the situation became challenging.

Adam and Isla have been instrumental in the sale of my house. From the start, Adam gave me straightforward advice on how best to present my property. The photographer and marketing were arranged swiftly, and they found me the right buyers very quickly. The paperwork was challenging due to legal delays, but Isla was very helpful throughout, suggesting practical solutions when needed. Overall, a great service. They are positive, warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful where they can be. I would highly recommend working with them.

We had a great experience selling our house with Aspire recently, in particular working with Adam and Isla. We bought our house through Aspire (again working with Adam) 8 years previously, and remembered it being a very positive experience. Adam provided a realistic valuation for our house, organised excellent photos, and then Adam and Isla managed viewings in such a way to minimise inconvenience to us. Once we had accepted an (asking price) offer, the process was proactively managed by Adam and Isla, which helped to make it quick and smooth. We had a really good experience selling our flat with these guys, after a truly terrible one with a much larger chain estate agent in the local area. Communication was really good, Isla looked after us from offer accepted all the way through to completion and we could sit back trusting that she had things under control and was keeping both us and our buyer on track. We had the pleasure of dealing with Alison during our recent purchase and for the c.9 months we were looking or a house before that. She said she was determined she was going to find us a house and she was right! Alison was very helpful and always friendly and cheerful - qualities that should not be underestimated during the stresses of a property purchase. I had heard mixed reviews of (other) agents at Aspire prior to working with them ourselves, but Alison was great! We had open and clear dialogue at all times and built a good working relationship. So much so that I requested Alison remain my contact throughout the process and was very pleased when she agreed. Far better to keep a positive relationship that be passed between agents (IMHO). I would recommend seeking out Alison to anyone searching for a property in the Furzedown area.
