Harlands Park move

We are about a month away from moving in to our new house on Harlands Park. So far we are very happy with Charles Church and the process has been very smooth. Darren the contracts manager has been an outstanding point of contact, really going the extra mile to make sure we are kept up to date and responding to questions very quickly. This contact has really made this a positive experience for us. Stevie on site has also been incredibly approachable and helpful even getting some extra photos of our new bathroom! The sales team has had a high turn over of staff so although doing their best sometimes questions would fall through the cracks. This was the only draw back. However, overall we are still very happy and still feel a five star rating is accurate as Darren and Stevie have been exceptional!

We are really happy with the house and the help given by staff at Charles Church. We had a few minor snagging issues but the team here, including Sophie, Evan’s and Clem have gone above and beyond to help rectify these issues. Would definitely recommend!!

Love our new home ! Site manager mark has been excellent

We moved to our new home in Germany beck , and very happy with the house so far - although we have had issues like with all new homes - we would like to give credit to mark - site manager and his maintenance team who have been excellent sorting all our issues and showing care to our issues and popping over to check everything is in order from time to time and getting our issues resolved with action and not just words . The buying process has not been absolutely perfect for us but credit to the persimmon team for trying hard where they can to make the experience as good as it could be and getting our home ready when we were on a tight schedule - there is room for improvement from the sales side but the aftercare deserves 5 star rating - thanks mark

Harlands Park, Uckfield

The team at Harlands Park have made the entire buying process a pleasure. From the initial reservation appointment through to move in day, and beyond, we have been kept informed and up to date. As we were selling our previous house, there was no undue pressure to meet the exchange deadline, and the process was as smooth as you could hope for. We're delighted with the house and also the garden. Special mention to the on site team, Darren and Steve in particular, always checking in and no query/problem is too small. Even though there is still plenty of building work going on around us, it doesn't affect us day to day and every effort is made to accommodate us. A big thank you, you've made this a special experience for us.

Charles Church Woodberry Heights From the day we put a small sticker on the site map with our choice of plot to the day we completed and got the keys to our fabulous new home we have had all our questions answered either with a promt email or telephone call...We were kept up to date with how the build was progressing.. It is the first new build home I have ever owned so really didn't know what to expect ...I visited the show home on lots of occasions and was always made very welcome..Can't thank Lauren and Martin enough recommended to all my friends

Reservation Oakhurst Village

We have only recently reserved an apartment at Oakhurst Village development both Paris and Emma have been brilliant so far. They are always happy to answer any of our questions even when we are changing our mind and coming up with a different option that we want to. They have both been keeping us up to date on the progress of the build so far. We can’t wait to get into our new apartment soon.

Our move in day delayed by 3 hours even though our solicitor confirmed our purchase was completed.We paid for upgrades that have not been supplied.We have a large number of snagging issues some 30+.We had leak from water fitting in bathroom and ceiling above entrance door has been cut out to repair on going.The tv cabling is a mess and has not worked correctly for a week now,due another visit to investigate when test equipment available.The new house experience has been poor!!!!!!!!!!

Harlands Park - Charles Church

My husband and I are in the process of buying a lovely new home at Harlands Park and we have been so impressed with the service we've received so far. Because we ended up reserving our new home at a later build stage we haven't been able to pick everything we would have wanted, which was a shame. Even with reserving so late, the site team have been as accommodating as possible, where they're able to and we've managed to get most things for us apart from the kitchen and electric shower as these were already being fitted. The site manager has been really helpful and made adjustments to items where possible and we even received contact from the Contracts Manager, with progress pictures being sent along with regular updates. I used to work for a house building company and this was never done there. The site itself is really beautiful, with highly thought out landscaping and the houses are so spaced out. The site team have been really relaxed throughout the process and are happy with any questions you ask. We can't wait to move into our new home, hopefully in the next few weeks and we'll update our review once we're in!

We just moved into a flat in Chalfont…

We just moved into a flat in Chalfont St Peter's new development and the experience, from exchange date until today, couldn't have been worse and more traumatic. Not only the apartment is full of snags -and not of the cosmetic type precisely- but the way in which Customer Services is dealing with it is appalling. They are plain rude, they make you be home for hours and then don't bother turning up or calling, they ignore you when you call .... I've been talking to neighbors and they've all been through the same. So, my advice, if you are thinking of buying something here: don't, unless you are looking at being miserable, angry and upset for a very long time. If we could, we would get our money back and run away from here as fast as possible. Unfortunately, when buying property, it doesn't work that way.

The five stars is not for Charles Church but Karen in the Cottons Show house. Regardless of the snags and issues when you move to a newly built home, we need to remember the hard work that the sales team do. Karen at the Cottons was always helpful and got back to us when we had any questions. We moved long distance so needed to be sure we had support in place at our future home - Karen provided this. She was always friendly, polite, engaging and accommodating. Things may not always go right when you move and if you look at the reviews you will see that sometimes the workmanship isn't consistent and to the standard we as customers expect. Karen doesn't build the houses, she sells them and speaking from my experience she does a great job and sets herself high standards. Downside - she introduced us to Arighi Bianchi and cost me a fortune

From the start Kate has made me and my family very welcome to the site. Kate has kept us up to date on the development of our property and always made room for us to come and visit to see how it's all going. All of the staff have been really friendly and honest in answering any questions we presented. Kate is making this venture a comfortable and hassle free which is helping us out more than she knows. The site looks amazing and seeing residents in already we can easily see ourselves spending many happy years here. We look forward to our completion

We collected the keys for our new home at Harlands Park in Uckfield on Wednesday. The house and garden look great and the site is in a great location overall. Our house is one of the first to be completed but despite the on-going construction works on more homes, the site staff are doing an amazing job to give us a finished access road to our house and to keep us safe from the site works. The Charles Church construction staff and contractors are extremely helpful and polite and have made the settling in process very pleasant and easy. S & R

We bought a new house from Charles Church on Tyneside in May 2018. Having finally found a buyer for our previous house we were then facing homelessness, so we were anxious to find somewhere that met our needs.Fortuitously we called in at the Charles Church development only 3 miles from where we were living. After a tour of the show house, we decided there and then to put our names down for an identical model.The sales lady was extremely helpful and professional, and from day 1 we felt we were in safe hands. She guided us painlessly through every stage of the process, which included regular liaison with all the legal parties involved. And it did not stop there: after we had moved in she was always on hand to help with any queries or issues.May/June was the estimated handover point, and this was duly completed on the last day of May.We are extremely happy with our new home, and cannot believe how well managed the entire process was. Inevitably a few "snagging" jobs have surfaced, but these have all been dealt with by the customer care team.We cannot recommend Charles Church highly enough, and unhesitatingly recommend anyone considering buying a newbuild to take a look at one of their developments.Quentin & Lorraine Scott

Disgusted with your company.My daughter had enquired about purchasing one of your homes on hunters rest eaglescliffe plot 10 about 2.5 weeks ago on one of your affordable home schemes and passed all the requirements for scheme through council,Went today to pay deposit to be told the homes went on your website and rightmove by mistake and were sold to a company probably for more money so they can rent them out How does a company meet the criteria in being a first time buyer and other criteria you had to meet it had to be a first time buyer to purchase the homes think its immoral for a company to do this and also the shocking customer service over the last couple of weeks i will be taking this complaint further

Charles Church - Regency Park

Issues with drainage and other factors at the property which have not been taken seriously. I have had to constantly chase Charles Church since February 2022 to have the garden drainage fixed as others on my row have had done. There's no consistency in the remedial work being undertaken to rectify this - when I asked for the same as what the adjacent properties have had done - the management said I was 'angling for things'. I will be taking this further as the only thing I was 'angling' for was them to do their jobs. I stressed numerous times that this needed to be fixed before the summer but this was never taken seriously. Management hardly ever get back when they say they are going to - the builders here also seem to be in the dark about what they have to do etc. I have asked for the email details of whom to contact to get this escalated - but this too is ignored. There seems to be no checks being undertaken on the properties before they are handed over to the customers otherwise features include two pence pieces drilled out and used as washers may have been noticed. Very disappointing.
