GoogleI recently used VMH for a property sale and cannot commend them highly enough. All the staff were friendly informative and kept me up to date at all times during the process. I also found their fees to be extremely competitive. I have used different solicitors previously and not received as good a service as I did with VMH. In particular I would like to call out Kevin, Lauren, Leanne and Connor who all went above and beyond. From now on they will be the only company that I use and I would thoroughly recommend them.

GoogleTook 5 and a half hours after the time on the closing date to find out (after I sent an email asking) that I hadn’t been successful in making an offer for a house. Was the highest bidder, but the seller went with the second highest bidder as they have apparently sold their house already (which is their right of course). Not told what the offer was that was accepted. Not kept updated at all on the day. No doubt will say that was on the sellers estate agents and they were chased, but I still should have been updated throughout the day rather than me having to ask at around 4.00 pm. Actually found out through the ESPC website beforehand that the house was “under offer” so knew I was unsuccessful having had no contact from them. Have used them three times to try and buy a house in the area I want and they have failed each time. Get it’s a sought after area, but that’s Edinburgh in most parts. I’ll use Nielsen’s in future and maybe they should stick to first time buyers and fixed prices. Could have made a lot on selling mine too, but failure comes at a cost as they say.
Dear Pat, Thank you for taking the time to complete an online review. We are sorry to hear of your grievance and that you feel VMH somehow contributed to your Offer at a closing date being rejected. As discussed with you directly we have no control over the time it takes for another firm to revert to us in terms of an Offer. With competitive closing dates it is difficult to guess how long it will take a seller to make a decision and ultimately report back to us. As soon as our firm was given information on your Offer this was passed on to you. Unfortunately the selling agents decided to update their ESPC advert prior to updating us which is unfortunate but completely out with our control. We appreciate it can be upsetting when trying to secure a property in a competitive Edinburgh market with certain restrictions making your Offer less desirable. GoogleI do NOT recommend VMH Solicitors. The only thing they seem to be interested in is taking your money. As a buyer I did not feel VMH was acting in my best interest. In theory, they should put their client's interest first, yet during conveyancing I felt they didn't care about achieving the best outcome for myself, their CLIENT, if it meant making some extra effort and a bit more back and forth with the selling party. There were also various admin mistakes which wouldn't have happened if Chris Hocking who dealt with my case had been more diligent. Don't repeat my mistake and chose a different solicitor.

GoogleWe recently contacted VMH for a free valuation before placing a residential property for sale. From the first contact with Connor for the valuation to Leanne's acceptance of an offer through their property department, their service was excellent. They listened to our wishes and were very efficient in organising the pre-sale requirements. During the selling process, they were on hand if required, offering sound advice. GoogleI used VMH Solicitors when I bought my first flat in 2017 and they made the process incredibly smooth and painless. My partner also went with them for his first purchase on my recommendation. This summer we decided to each sell up our own flats and buy a new place together. We stuck with VMH again. This was a complex sale/purchase where we had to coordinate three sets of people and involved a partial exchange (house swap) and they handled it perfectly. Everything went exactly to plan and I really appreciate how communicative the whole team was, keeping us updated and giving advice on every development.

GoogleSelling my property was seamless with VMH. Connor was incredibly approachable, explained things very clearly to me, informed and advised me every step of the way. I am over the moon to sell my property with 2 weeks of it being on the market. All the staff that I dealt with at VMH were highly professional, courteous and friendly. My experience with VMH dispels any maxim that house selling can be stressful! Not at all so far.
