GoogleWe rented a property through Direct Lettings. While they were polite at first, support became poor once issues appeared. Staff seemed disorganised and gave conflicting information. There was a mice problem from day one, despite them saying otherwise. We kept the flat spotless, which was confirmed at inspections, yet they still made small cleaning claims to deduct from our deposit. We were told disputing it would just delay things and still come out of our deposit. Overall, not a professional experience. I recommend being extremely cautious if renting through them.

GoogleIf you’re looking for a frustrating and disappointing letting experience, this agency might be the one. They appear friendly at first, but once the agreement is signed, communication becomes nearly nonexistent. I was assured there were no pest problems, yet within a month, I encountered a mouse in the property. When I raised concerns about damp, their only advice was to “open the windows every day” and a suggestion that unfortunately led to someone breaking into our home.
They charged £127 for a lock that costs around £25, and after moving out, I was billed an additional £150 for cleaning just for the stove. When I asked for a receipt from the cleaning company, they simply ignored the request.
To top it off, I had to wait almost a month to get my deposit back. When I followed up, their excuse was that they were on holiday as if that justified delaying a legal obligation.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this agency due to their poor service, lack of accountability, and unreasonable charges. Proceed with caution.

GoogleWe recently experienced a water leak from the shower of the flat above ours. The student tenants of the flat were very helpful and cooperative as were the property managers, Direct Lettings. They dealt with the issue promptly and kept us very well informed throughout the repair process. The agent we dealt with was Dawn and we were very impressed by her thoughtful and professional handling of the issue.

GoogleA truly terrible experience. Flat given in a terrible condition, dirty and infested by larder beetles and moth. We had to get rid of most of the 'furnitre' due to the fact that even looking at it you were very close to puke. Also the attitude of so called 'agents' telling you what to do instead of asking in order to cooperate. At the end of 'tenancy' cherry on the cake - even though the flat was clean when moving out (despite the fact that flat was extremely dirty when moving in) they charge us for cleaning (unfairly). Stay away from them !

GoogleUnfortunately I have to write this review about Direct Lettings and the complete unprofessional way that they have managed Bankpark Grange which is an exclusive development in Tranent of 11 houses. Since they have managed these properties it has become run down and a place that has become renown for anti-social behaviour.
Put known criminals and liars and police are in constant attendance.
We have reported several issues to both Laura Weir and Jackie and they just bury their heads in the sand.
They are happy to take the money but not actively manage the problems when they arise.
As a landlord I would not touch this outfit with a barge pole.
