I recently sold my house through Jan Mitchell and they were exceptional. It wasnt an easy sale with various issues further down the chain causing delay meaning it took 11 months from marketing the property to moving. Throughout this extensive period every single person at Jan Mithcell has been amazing, Jan, Jordan, Sarah, Jody and the others I dealt with. They always responded promptly to queries and chased both sides of the chain on many occasions to move matters forwards. Even early on when dealing with booking viewings and receiving offers they were so organised and gave great advice. When I was frustrated with the issues in the chain which was often as time went by, Jan Mitchell were always so understanding when I vented and always put me at ease. Honestly they have been amazing and I am so grateful for all that they have done...we are finally in our new home! Thanks so much Jan, Jordan and the team for all that you did!

We completed on our house sale and purchase earlier this week. Having made an offer on a property advertised through Jan Mitchell we decided to ask them to quote for selling our house. We were left impressed by John’s knowledge and insights into the market in our area, confident that JM would secure us a buyer quickly, and we were happy with the commission rate which was slightly lower than others who had already quoted for us. Jordan did a fantastic job with our photography, video tour and the marketing blurb. As the purchase and sale progressed we had regular contact with colleagues, but in particular Jody who was absolutely fantastic - she helped enormously to progress the sale and purchase, liaising with solicitors on both sides. Whenever we rang the office, Jody knew exactly who we were and ‘what was what’ in terms of our conveyancing process, and she was always very quick to respond to emails. We would wholeheartedly recommend Jan Mitchell to anyone else considering selling.

Throughout our experience with Jan Mitchell’s team they showed diligence & support over what turned out to be a lengthy sale and conveyancing process. The process for marketing our house was extremely professional and smooth, we were very pleased with the photos and videos on the listing, as well as the social media advertising - we sold our property within 1 week. Despite such a quick sale, we had a long journey to getting in to our new house which was no fault of the Jan Mitchell Properties team. They were extremely quick to reply to any queries and great at keeping us in the loop. They supported with pushing solicitors along and recommended removal companies. WITHOUT PREDJUDICE I have known Jan Mitchell through property dealings for 15 years, an honest lady with high integrity. Since starting her own buisness and recruiting fellow directors John and Jordan, who share the same values and the excellent sales support team of Joanne, Jody and Rachael they have gone from strength to strength. They will advise you what your property is worth and achieve the best possible price given the market conditions, and in the best possible time frame. They will keep you updated at every stage, and take the stress away from you. Jan Mitchell is the "First Lady" of estate agents and Jan Mitchell Properties is in my opinion the Premier Estate Agent in the North East. I would highly recommend them and find no need to go anywhere else.

Sold my house with Jan Mitchell last year and they were a great company to use. Measurements, photos and videos were fantastic and they are proactive in following up after visits with potential buyers whilst also letting you know how they felt about the property. We had a bit of back and forth with the house we were purchasing (no fault of Jan Mitchell) which meant our exchange date was pushed back but they dealt with our buyer perfectly and helped everything run as smoothly as it possibly could. Disappointing Experience After Initial Impressions I was initially impressed with Jan Mitchell following a recommendation, but unfortunately, my experience took a disappointing turn. I returned to them with a property they had originally marketed, and while they did find a buyer, the offer was not one I was willing to accept. To my surprise, I was told there was no point in Jan Mitchell continuing to market the property if I didn’t accept that initial offer. It wasn’t just the stance that concerned me, it was the manner in which it was communicated. I found the response rude and dismissive, which was especially disappointing after my earlier positive impression. I would advise potential clients to have clear discussions and set expectations in writing before committing to avoid similar misunderstandings.
