GoogleI wanted to share my experience about the excellent service I received when I recently enquired about properties to rent locally for my daughter and son-in-law. I dealt with a lovely lady called Carolynn who had a wealth of knowledge when it came to the finalities of renting a property. Carolynn gave myself and my daughter some really sound advice and listened to all our requests very patiently! On this occasion Equity had nothing suitable for us, but when you receive such first class service it should be acknowledged. GoogleIf you're getting a property and if you are lucky enough to get Equity as your agents, look no further. You'd get exceptional service from friendly staff, they'd go above and beyond to ensure that all your requirements are accommodated as best as possible. It's a family run place and you can see the difference, as compared to others, with the service that you get. Me and my partner dealt with Jemma, who's a true gem! Very helpful, excellent communication, kept us in the loop throughout the process and made sure all of questions are answered, and concerns addressed.

GoogleMoved to Eastbourne as I’d started a new job and was keen to relocate to the area. As you can imagine this is a tough time and rentals go really quickly. I’d asked around and was informed the preferential areas of Eastbourne and decided to wait for the right property. Having enquired about a property and told that it was fully booked for viewings time after time I’d started to lose hope! However after one such call I was informed that a different property was coming up for rent soon and was kept updated. The second it was available I was able to view at the earliest availability. I attended the viewing and Jemma was really helpful. I knew I wanted the property as it’s stunning and explained I was working to a deadline (otherwise I’d have had to pass as I’d be paying another months rent in my old address) and within a week of viewing I was lucky to be told I’d been approved. I’ve lived here now for a couple of weeks and it’s one of the nicest places I’ve ever lived. Everyone at Equity was extremely helpful and friendly. Special mention must go to Jemma though for enduring my emails and questions! I would thoroughly recommend them!

Dear Jackson,
we are disappointed to receive your review in reference to your tenancy which ended over 3 years ago. We are sorry you were inconvenienced by not having any hot water. We have reviewed our records and note that you reported the gas boiler breaking down on the afternoon of 3rd August and the gas engineer attended the following morning. The engineer advised you that two new boiler parts were required which would take 2-4 days on order. The boiler was working again on 7th August.
Following a check-out conducted by an independent inventory contractor in September 2021 the check-out report highlighted some areas of the flat which required cleaning. The cost of the deduction was £66 plus VAT which you agreed could be deducted from your deposit. We feel this was a fair amount charged by the cleaning company for their service. The full balance of your deposit was then paid to you. We therefore dispute your assertion that we tried to keep as much of your deposit as we could. We acted entirely in accordance with the terms of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme in which your deposit was protected.

GoogleVery bad experience, they rented me flat with a leaking roof, refused to fix it pretending there was no issue for a long time. Used their own keys to enter property without any notice or even a phone call. Avoid at all cost awful business and people. EDIT: Yes it was 11 years ago yet when I think of worst landlord I ever had in my life you are the one that comes to mind, so I'm glad I disappointed you I can assure you it is unlikely that I will ever disappoint you as much as you disappointed me. You say that it was fixed during my tenancy, what you omit is that you ignored my phone call about issue pretending it didn't happen, when I finally issued complaint in writing you kept pretending repair will start soon till environment health finally got involved and forced you to fix it, it was fixed shortly before my tenancy agreement with you run out. Your staff was rude and unhelpful and you were landlord from hell.

Piotr. I note that you rented a property from us in 2008. We are disappointed to receive this review some 11 years later. Having looked back we confirm that there was indeed a problem with the roof. On 7 August 2008 while you were resident, a total of 21mm of rain fell in just half an hour in Eastbourne. We are sorry that you and your wife were affected as a result. What should also be noted is that the roof was fixed and the ceiling repaired and decorated in your property while you were still resident. Having rented that property to many happy Tenants for some 5 years prior to your Tenancy we were unaware of any roof issues until that thunderstorm.

GoogleUnfortunately after 4 years ranting with this Agency they are trying to to blame me from thing there ware ready broken when I walk in . they said they hire a professional cleaner and when we walked into the apartment, it was nasty the carpet full of dust. Water are coming in from the windows , . Then I told them about mould all the two bedrooms , But I got sick for almost a month and all day for me, spray it with a mould cleaner now they are trying to blame me about it as well. Do not trend from this Agency. They will do everything to take your deposit from you.
