TrustpilotAVANT - Avoid and buy elsewhere
AVANT market their houses as top spec top workmanship and top customer service! Once you’ve completed your sale they are not interested in helping or solving your property issues.Massive snag list you send to have rectified, no one take ownership and you get passed from staff to staff.It took nearly two years for them to agree to replace a stone windowsill which was broken on the day we moved in and this was only after attempting to fix it 3 times previously.Stay well clear, I have said to many coming to view show homes if you want to come and see the finished product with multiple issues and the emails sent unanswered I will happily show you.

Too long to list what went wrong. Communication none existent, rude staff, no accountability from anyone. List of defects are silly. My house was sold to me with smashed windows on the promise they would be change within a week. Two months later I still had smashed windows and countless phone calls to get absolutely nowhere. The house purchase should be the highlight of a life event but the awful experience and shocking aftercare leaves it more like a nightmare. Please avoid Avant, it really isn't worth your mental health with all the stress. This company simply do not care but are way too happy to take your money. Reported to NHBC

Absolutely amazing service from start to finish, there were times we didn't think we would ever get our dream home owing to issues with our buyer, however Angela Kingsley and Victoria Spencer at the Summerville Development in Stockton-on-Tees, went above and beyond for us and we finally moved in on the 9th December 2022! I cannot thank them enough and highly recommend them and Avant if you are looking for a new home!Thank you so much for everything you've done for us and the support you continue to give us even after we've moved in.Collette and Kane -plot 24

We moved into a house we brought from this company over 8 months ago and still waiting for outstanding snags to be sorted. Weve not been able to use our on suite bathroom for about 6 weeks as it leaks terrible and all the grouting around the bottom tiles in there has broken. Avants customer service is a complete joke! They say they will fix things and just don't! They ignore calls or change phone numbers. All they want is your money and anything after they couldn't care less!!. Dont waste your time or money with this company

That’s if your lucky!Do you want to watch your mortgage rates spiral out of control because you have to renew it every 6 months after your supposed completion date. Do you want to watch your house make no progress in 3 months! Whilst being told lies and empty promises. I could go on and on!This place is a shambles. I would give this company 0 stars if I could. Nightmare of an experience buying with them from start to end. 9 months delayed on the completion of our house and not a single person from Avant has any clue what they are doing or how to treat and communicate with customers. We have been lied to on multiple occasions and the wool pulled over our eyes. We would’ve been better off flushing our money down the toilet than putting our trust in such an unethical and frankly shambolic company. Please please do NOT waste your money, time or effort with Avant.

We reserved our house in May 2022 and a long stop date was drawn up and agreed for us to move this December 2022. For months they have have told us our house was on track and we will definitely be in by 20th December, only to find out 1 week and 3 days before we were moving into the house (solicitors had been asked to request funds) that it is not ready and won't be until the middle of Jan. We managed to extend our mortgage offer and yet they make aren't taking it seriously and seem to take the stance they are some how doing US a favour by part exing our house now are sale has fallen through due to them breaching contracts. This company are only good at lying to you constantly and not taking accountability for their mistakes and then ask you what you are going to do about it! Run by clowns, spoken to like your the problem and the only thing that comes out of their mouths are lies.Advise- avoid this company as it will save you a lot of unnecessary stress and heartbreak. P.s we thought the solicitors were bad and we had the worst, avant are on another level all together!

TrustpilotDo Not Buy From Avanthomes
Noticed a couple of years ago on our then 8 year old house that mortar around our house was failing, causing gaps between bricks, walls cracking. On testing mortar was found to be defective, and of the incorrect standard. NHBC not interested, Avanthomes recently responded on the 5 or 6th attempt, stating as the house is outside the 2 year 'snagging period' there was nothing they would do. May cost around 20k + to correct defects. Be warned.

We bought in Stewarton Ayrshire, Scotland The building staff are fabulous, SO obliging,polite friendly and helpful. Nothing is a problem! The site foreman, and his crew, are excellent and on hand always.Ashley in sales, is a darling always on hand to answer any queries. The house is finished to a very high standard so we only have a small amount of snagging. The landscaping is lovely. We are so happy to have bought an Avant home, and would do so again.

I bought a house with this company 1 and a half years ago, the dream of owning a house is more of a nightmare, I don't remember a single month that I didn't have problems with structure, with finishing, it's been a month since I've been sending an email and the customer service no longer bothers to answer, in my bedroom bathroom (suite) a crack appeared between the tiles (walls) I have already sent photos and they have not given me a response for over a month. This company has no respect for its customers, the service offered is of poor quality, I do not recommend it to anyone.

We’ll have been in our home 5 years in March and Avant have still not managed to rectify the drainage issues, resulting in the tarmac top coat being unable to be laid. There’s greenery growing out the sides of the roads and pavements because they’re not able to finish their civil works. I’ve given 2 stars because the general quality of the home was to reasonable standard following an extensive amount of snagging. We’re one of the fortunate homes which saw the benefit of the better finishes. The specification of the houses were dramatically reduced following the acquisition of Avant Homes in April 2021, leaving Avant without their trademark product and lacking their previous identity.

Trustpilot5 years in and still no roads
Bought an Avant Home near York in 2017. The customer service experience was pretty awful - lots of promises, very little action, fixing snags took months with constant personnel changes and often making whatever issue they supposedly tried to fix much worse. Most neighbours just gave up in the end which feels like the AH strategy. It’s been 5 years now and the last home sold over 2 years ago. We still don’t have road surfaces in, countless tires punctured and the place looks an absolute mess. They’ve been promising each month for at least 18 months to do something - written to us all and not followed up. Absolute joke of a company. Either they have no intention of delivering on their promises, have serious cash flow problems, or can’t deliver as there is a greater issue with the drains than they are telling us. They just ignore us now. 200 houses in all here. Millions in income for avant.

purchase process is a shambles. Lies by sales team encouraged by management. Complete lack of customer care..... once they have your money they drag their feet and do everything to avoid addressing snags. Very poor quality of finish resulting in many snags and each one is an arguement even the major safety related ones.The biggest problem is a culture of lies that comes down the line from management and is encouraged down the line meaning dishonest people must be the ones that are promoted in the company in my opinion. This is all to the detriment of the customer. This is not the first new build I have bought. The previous was a Taylor wimpy who although are not perfect they resolved the majority of snags within 14 days and the standard of finish was significant higher. They are least tried to keep their customer happy

TrustpilotThere are so many issues with my house
There are so many issues with my house. I’ve been in over a month now and still I’m living out of boxes because the plasterer and paint work was of very poor standards all throughout the house. Now Avant homes are saying it just needs a touch up with paint which is certainly not the case the entire house needs repaired and repainted. My carpets are coming in a week and I’m no further forward. The painter has been stood down and I’m at my wits end with the lack of professionalism this company have for their customer’s mental health.

Just a quick note to say that whilst I am not actually purchasing a property on the site for reasons beyond my control, I would have to praise the sales manager, Mel Barnes for her help, advice and professionalism throughout the process.She was very helpful at all times, although we were all somewhat frustrated with the lack of information as to what additional options were available and at what cost until late in the day.I would also like to thank the site manager for his explanation as to how the building process was going to work on site.

I am giving feedback 15 months after moving into my newly built house in cadley village swadlincote. Initial faults such as rusty hinges in the windows, cracked windows, guttering screws not tightened, blisters on the carpet were dealt with fairly quickly. A badly fitted door and door frame was replaced twice which took about a year. The biggest problem was the plumbing. From day one there has been a problem with leaking water and it started in the kitchen where the pipes from the sink were not screwed together. A badly sealed toilet in the upstairs laxity led to damage to the ceiling below, a leak in the downstairs lavatory and en-suite to replacing the floorboards. Gaps in the grout fill between tiles or even poorly applied silicone.Customer service does not answer phone calls or respond to messages. Reported faults take months to be repaired and it is often the case that deadlines set by Avant are not met and on any given day no one comes. Employees who resign from Avant Homes do not pass things on to colleagues the same happens with employees who are on annual live. Avant Homes is incompetent, dishonest, unprofessional.I would caution anyone who wants to buy a property in Swadlincote because after speaking to neighbours they all have problems to date that have not been resolved so I am not a one person case and it looks like this is their way of doing business. Shame on Avant Homes, correct yourselves.

Avoid and look elsewhere. Our house spec was changed and only voiced to us casually in conversation 8 weeks prior to our completion date. All requests for compensation for the unfortunate change in the house were declined by management.Communication and customer service is also very poor. Ended up having to pull out of purchase because the new spec of the Avant house was so far from what we had reserved and no longer worth the price of the house. The advertisements and show home are so so far from what you end up with at the end of the process due to their spec changes that happen and are sprung on you later down the line.
