Nalini, thank you so much for this. “Difficult sale” might actually be putting this one rather politely! There were certainly moments when the patience of everyone involved was tested, and a fair amount going on behind the scenes to keep things moving. Your words “saw the sale through” mean a great deal to us because, in many ways, that gets to the heart of how we have deliberately built Leslie & Co. We work with a finite and carefully limited number of properties at any one time. That means when a sale becomes complicated, protracted or requires considerably more attention than anyone anticipated, it doesn’t become yesterday’s news while we move our focus onto the next shiny new instruction. We stay with it. Not every sale is straightforward, and this one involved an unusual combination of legal, management and administrative complexities, with a number of different parties needing to come together before everything could finally fall into place. Our job in those situations is to keep communicating, keep asking the questions, keep joining the dots and, sometimes, simply keep nudging when it would be easier to assume somebody else will. So after everything it took to get this one over the line, we’re genuinely delighted to have seen it through with you. And we particularly appreciate the comment about how easy we were to reach. When a sale is taking longer than anyone would like, being available matters even more.
