I shouldn't have to wait nearly 4 hours to speak to someone just to reschedule an appointment. Horrific customer service, despite the actual customer service staff being pleasant and nice, it doesn't excuse the abhorrent wait times. Fix it!!!!

Wow. To the services of places for people as a landlord. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and positive emotion for their services. Emma was professional, efficient, effective yet also managed warmth and sincerity. The procedure is rigorous and fair yet also freindly. I feel like my joy in people and finding a place to live has been elevated to wonderful just because of this experience. Thank you so much Emma and Places for People. I am a very happy forward looking person today. I can't wait to treat my new home with love and care and to start living again, where I've just been existing. Thank you, thank you and once more thank you.That review was before I saw the flat and accepted it. Since then, I had the most effective techie viewing and signing of contract with Toni. All hassle free and covid safe viewing and contract signing. The flat itself is a dream:it's spacious, modern and cleverly set out. Truly a fabulous flat. The neighbours are friendly and what more could I ask for. I said thanks before I saw the flat, now I'm quadrupled in satisfaction. Thanks again.

I have been on the council list for about a year now trying to get a property. Until my sister told me about places for people. Went on their website and saw a property placed a bid and got the house. I’m soo happy as I’ve been waiting for such a long time. Now I don’t have the worry of not having a place to call my own. Tom was the guy who I viewed the property with and did the sign up he was so help full and really knew his job well. Overall and absolutely amazing experience.

My wife and myself met Thomas this afternoon and were taken round Foxbridge House where we had been offered a flat.Thomas was extremely pleasant and polite and described in full all aspects of the complex and the flat.We asked various questions which were answered fully and competently by Thomas.He later guided us through various items online.Thomas was really helpful and set a great example for Places for People.It woud be nice to meet him some more in the future

Flat transfer

We have recently transferred our tenancy from one flat in ling court to another. The website for Lettings is not really fit for purpose as it indicates that if you have not heard in 5 working days then you have not been successful, it is not possible to speak to anyone and we found it very stressful. However once we got through this and spoke to your Lettings staff it was a different experience all together . Thomas barraclough has worked very hard to assist us going above an beyond to facilitate an early completion despite the pressure that he is obviously under.a very courteous and friendly person who made life as easy as possible for us. In addition the workmen who prepared the flat were fab working flat hour and long hours to get the flat ready for us. I do not have their full names but they were Adam, Phil and Rick. What started out as a very stressful process ended on a high just down to your staff. Thank you

Ridiculous process

So. My first ever experience with them and to say I'm confused and a little upset is an understatement. I'm on priority so I applied and it said I was 3rd in the queue. Was then told I was unsuccessful. OK. But was then emailed a couple of weeks later and told to confirm my interest if I wanted it within the next 5 days. I did this the same day. I sent all my documents within the 5 days even though I only needed to confirm. To be told that someone else beat me to it and that the same email. Was sent to 5 ppl. Why? Why this process? Its ridiculous. It wasn't explained to me. I told my kids that we could stay in the same area and they could stay at their schools. Why offer it to multiple ppl rather than go down the list in order of priority?

Rent is very high, pay a service charge and don’t have any services for it. They don’t complete repairs booked, they ignore them or delay them. Still waiting for the damp and mould to be rectified 5 years after first reporting it!

Would give them zero stars if I could, my disabled sister was homeless and got offered a flat, when viewing the flat the whole place was covered in thick wallpaper, and she was informed that there was asbestos in the ceiling so not to drill into it.She was desperate so of course accepted the flat. Immediately the problems started, as soon as she took down the wallpaper the plaster started coming down with it and when she contacted places for people she was told that she would have to pull down all of the previous tennants wallpaper before they'd do anything. We pulled down the wallpaper which kicked up lots of dust that got into our lungs and some of the ceiling with the asbestos in it started coming down with it. When all of the paper was down she got in touch and was told that they couldn't afford to replaster it so she got in touch with her MP. Only after this would they replaster the flat and only half of it. The walls had to be taken down to the studs and redone, the contractors wanted to do more but could only do as much as they were paid for. Then the flat flooded, the water came through the doors and the walls and got under the hallway tiles that were left by a previous tenant. Places for people ripped up the tiles destroying the concrete underneath, it's been 3 months and the floor is still completely destroyed and it leads to every room so can't be avoided, they sent someone to fix the skirting boards before they've even fixed the floor and they destroyed the recently replastered walls. The plug sockets keep sparking since the flood because they didn't check them and there's water in them, the rooms have mould, the whole place is damp. There was a gas leak when she moved in and a slug infestation, the yard was full of the previous tenants rubbish that they refused to remove and they didn't give her a wheelie bin, she was told she'd have to buy one.These are just the things I can remember but the list goes on and on, everytime they try to repair something they break something else. We've requested a new house which they're being iffy about but if they don't move us we're suing them and we have more than enough grounds to do so including several zone 1 (unfit for human habitation) hazards.I'm completely disgusted they would treat anybody like this but to keep a disabled person living in this squalor makes me sick and this is a disabled person that has a carer to speak up for them I dread to think what conditions they have other disabled people living in.If you can avoid this company do so.

I will not explain all the personal details but I must tell the story of two of the most kind, helpful, caring & professional ladies I've ever known. I have & am having some difficulties in life & both Jacky Braxton & Helen Armstrong have supported me, showed me extraordinary patience & been so kind always. I cannot strongly enough what wonderful people they are. I have been with Places for People since July 2000 & have met & dealt with many staff members & workman & they are all so nice. Over the years Neil Scofield from repairs has been so very kind, helpful & professional & I can not Thank him enough. Since last November-ish I have had support above & beyond from these two lovely ladies Jacky & Helen & I will be eternally grateful to them both. Places for People are indeed very fortunate to count these 3 people among their staff. If P4P have personal files I sincerely hope these 3 staff members are credited for their fantastic work, empathy & care they have shown me & I will never forget their kindness. They are a credit to P4P & I hope they are valued by the company as much as I value their help. Thank you Colleen

Unacceptable service from a housing association. communication channels complex, repairs service inadequate. Booked gutter repair in Feb 2026. Still waiting, keep cancelling at last minute , cannot even give you a date, when they do they then cancel it, has contributed to a block toliet pipe problem since 16 May 2026.

Finally settled into our property and couldn’t be more happy. Upon reading negative reviews I was not worried what so ever as we have always rented private and landlords have been worse and rude ! From start to finish we have loved our experience and found everyone we have spoken to has been lovely and professional. For all the reviews that state you have been living in places for people’s homes for 20+ years try renting privately I’m sure you wouldn’t moan then. Thank you places for people ! I have had problems with a walk in…

I have had problems with a walk in shower leaking and wetting downstairs bathroom ceiling for a few months . However they sent a plumber round to sort it out and 100% this guy was a credit to the company ! A man of many talents from plumbing to joinery . Thank you Leland his assistant Dave both very professional and a credit to places for people. Makes a change to come across real tradesmen .A nice new bath fitted no more problems with leaks . Thank to places for people for such a good response to the end result !

A shambles

Where to start…Avoid avoid avoid. Don’t make the same mistake I did! I have been in my property nearly 3 years now and I still have weekly email exchanges trying to get the vast list of snags and faults rectified. Aftercare is more forgotten about. They will happily take your money and disappear. You’ll be left to pick up the pieces like I have.

17 years of poor and woefully inadequate service from PFP

Have lived in a property purchased from these Clowns back in 2008. Year upon year the service is at best chaotic, and at worst non existent. The people at PFP are shambolic, have no idea how to run a company, have no clue about customer service and empathy, and have now, 1 week before Xmas, have served possession orders on nearly everyone in the block that I live in for unbilled service charges that they are unable to quantify or provide evidence of, and their Housing Manger states that " the figures are incorrect, for reasons I cannot explain". As a Housing professional, this is a totally unacceptable statement to make, and shows this individual has no concept of the pain and anguish these notices have caused to so many tenants at a time when people are trying to budget for Xmas. The Housing Ombudsman will hopefully be intervening in this matter, sooner rather than later.
