What a refreshing change it was to have such a positive and knowledgeable estate agent with Georgia when we viewed the house on Dorchester Rd today. Not only knowledgeable about the property but also on the current range of other available properties on her books. Georgia asked about our preferences and tried to match us with other properties but also was interested in what we were looking for and listened to what we were searching for. She encouraged us to consider the property we viewed and explained the sellers’ situation. In conclusion, Georgia made us smile. For the first time in forever, we met an estate agent who actually listened and more importantly, wanted to understand what we wanted. 10 out of 10 as far as we were concerned regarding our experience. Don’t ever change Georgia. You are an asset to any company.

Really enjoyed our experience with Direct Moves. Some Real Estate agents can be very pushy however I didn't get this with them. They were very friendly, very helpful. Answered emails about all different types of questions about the property. Our process wasn't a simple one and they liaised so well with the home owners and were very patient with is as well. Georgia was so lovely and made the experience of viewing the house really special. They allowed multiple viewings and we had large groups of people as well but she was so accomodating. We were so happy and so excited the whole way through.

Generally I prefer to stick to the positive reviews, but I think it’s only fair to share my experience. I’ve kept this to Google to ensure it sits within a broader range of feedback, as I’m conscious of not unfairly influencing platforms with only a small number of reviews. My intention is to offer transparency not to damage reputation. I was initially encouraged by the company’s claim of having “decades of property sales experience,” as local knowledge and professionalism were important factors for me but ultimately, I experienced what can only be described as a “heritage” approach to estate agency. A true throwback that I can only assume peaked somewhere between the late 90s and early 2000s… judging by the reliance on handwritten scraps of paper to record important details. A bold choice in 2026. The valuation process was, well… enlightening. Despite claiming strong local knowledge, I was quoted initially £350k for a property in Council Tax Band E, in an area where comparable homes are sitting between £420k and £600k (with recent sales around £525k). My face obviously did the talking as when I queried this it was raised to £375k with a need to review it after 4 weeks. I didn’t however feel there was a particularly clear or confident rationale behind the figure, just a vague sense that this was “about right.” Reassuring. Needless to say, I didn’t come away with a clear sense of how my property would be actively positioned or sold. There appeared to be an assumption it would largely sell itself, to be fair at that price point it probably would, however in all seriousness, there was no real indication of proactive buyer engagement or use of local knowledge around schools, transport links, or amenities. I’m glad I opted not to sign on the dotted line as it were, or who knows multi-part carbon paper. For context, I have since received an offer of £425k from another agent prior to going to market, which does raise questions about the original valuation. On a positive note, the fees are competitive, however, my experience suggests there may be a reason for that. All in all, a fascinating opportunity to experience both ends of the estate agent spectrum. I just hadn’t expected to get the “worst” quite so vividly.

I cannot recommend DirectMoves. While the staff are personable, their service as estate agents was disappointing and unprofessional. They were not clear about the buyer’s position when I was deciding whether to accept the offer. I was led to believe the sale would proceed quickly, but instead it became a long, drawn-out process. They also handled a situation involving a difficult neighbour very poorly, raising concerns only a couple of days before exchange, which caused further unnecessary delays. Several months later, I am still waiting for a response to a straightforward query about who damaged and messed the toilet. In addition, I believe the boiler was used incorrectly, either by the agent or with their permission given to the buyer, resulting in an error. Rather than properly investigating this, they attempted to pressure me into using their preferred plumber “to resolve it quickly.” I was also misled about the level of commission they received for recommending a particular conveyancer, which I only became aware of later. Communication steadily deteriorated, and eventually they stopped responding altogether. On completion day, the only communication I received was a strange, blank email. Others may have had a better experience, but based on mine, I would strongly recommend considering one of the many alternative estate agents available in the Weymouth area.

Wonderfully helpful and friendly. Most importantly when we had issues with our move Emma was on hand to move things along, even when it wasn’t her responsibility to do so.
