I had a really positive experience with W H Brown in Mexborough. They did an excellent job valuing and marketing my property, which resulted in a sale within just 12 days, far quicker than I expected. Communication throughout the whole process was consistently clear and reassuring, which made everything feel much less stressful. A special mention goes to Arwen, who is new to the team but was absolutely fantastic, professional, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. The rest of the team were equally supportive and efficient. I worked with them on both my sale and my purchase, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and proactive estate agent. Thanks Scott & Chris King

Can't recommend enough! We sold our house with William H Brown at the start of 2026. It was exaclty four weeks from their initial viewing to completion, which is so impressive (we were very lucky with certain things but they certainly didn't waste any time). Every little bit of progress, they would let us know. They did all of the fiddly bits like sorting all of the documents we need and they had a good relationship with our solicitors, as well as our buyer. Literally so easy for us. Sam was super helpful and you can tell they all really cared about finding the best buyer for us. So grateful, thank you!!

My experience with William H Brown in Mexborough was disappointing and did not reflect the level of professionalism I expected. While the initial valuation and consultation were handled well, the quality of service declined once the agreement was signed. Communication became inconsistent, and I often had to chase for updates on viewings, feedback. ie: Property completion date 1 October last contact from WH Brown 19 July. Voice mail left on completion day requesting a call back. When I finally got through to the office, no one knew what it was about or who had left message! The marketing of my property was poorly managed, with errors in the listing.Despite raising these issues several times, corrections were slow to appear, suggesting a lack of care and attention to detail. Although individual staff members were polite, there seemed to be little coordination between them, which led to confusion and delays. Overall, the process felt disorganised and reactive, rather than proactive and client-focused. I gave 1 star as the only thing they did well was showing potential purchases around. Although they rang me to ask very strange questions ie Did it have a central heating boiler and where was it? Well it was in there description and in full view. Selling a property is a major financial decision, and I had expected a higher standard of service and communication from a well-known estate agent. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with the Mexborough branch. I hope the company takes steps to improve its customer service and internal communication, but based on my experience, I would not feel confident recommending them.

We had an amazing experience at being able to purchase our first home and to be able to be on the property ladder. There were definitely stressful times during the process of purchasing our home but that was mainly the nerves and insecurity of what we were doing due to being first time buyers. Recently a new home owner on a shared ownership property thanks to the work from Megan Cooper. Her service and communication really helped moved the whole process along and even through some complications, she made sure to understand each parties concerns and link back to find a resolve. Megan's services alone deserve a 5 star review, though the only reason I'd lower this is that within the Willam H Brown at Mexborough only Megan is equipped with the understanding of how to handle shared ownership purchases. So during times where holidays or being out of the office we're involved, trying to get updates and communication did see an impact.

PLEASE STEER WELL CLEAR!!

Poor communication, false promises from sales, lettings and mortgage services. Started off great but once they've had your money they don't care about resolving any issues. Don't bother with the lifetime membership as you'll have to do all the work yourself. Don't bother with management services for letting a property either, they won't tell you about any problems and they'll let your tenants damage your property and steal from you without any reconciliation measures or compensation. I sold my flat over a year ago and I'm still battling with them and the Zero Deposit scheme to compensate me for my property being stolen and damage that I paid to fix for the new owner out of my own pocket. PLEASE STEER CLEAR, SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE!!

Where do l start , first l would’ve give more than 5stars if l could, second just sold my house and got my new house with William H Brown Mexborough. Amazing Team working here from the very first day when walked through the door to the day when collecting and dropping the keys they’ve been absolutely brilliant. Very helpful, very kind and very professional which makes the whole process a lot easier. I can’t thank enough to the Team for everything what they’ve done for us. Massive thank you to Jesse , Sam, Megan , Jill and Daniel and not the last for Rachel, for sorting my mortgage out and helping me a lot. When selling and buy usually the chain can be very stressful and very upsetting, but using the right Team it does make a difference .Good and less stressful difference. As a tenant this is the worst rental agency I've ever dealt with - expected more from such a big name

As a tenant this is the worst rental agent I've ever dealt with. 1) Difficult to get in touch with - they hardly ever answer the phone. 2) The property was dirty when we moved in, no inventory provided. 3) The property was managed by Sequence Ltd who have provided a very disappointing service - early on we were told (via a phone call and after several weeks of us asking) to arrange for repair of a maintenance issue ourselves and that this could be deducted off our rent afterwards, and that the landlord had instructed this. We never received the refund, they said because they didn't have records of that instruction. Several staff members had started then left during our tenancy which didn't help (we were there for 6 months). 4) We are now having to contact Tenancy Deposit Scheme to get our deposit back relating to a different issue, mostly due to our inadequate landlord who it seems is trying to claim a random amount of money anywhere he might get away with it (we left the property in a cleaner state than when we arrived to try to avoid any possible excuses for deduction from deposit). Sequence Ltd doesn't appear to know about or be bothered about the law and tenant's rights.
