I contacted Haart in Doncaster to go collect the key for a property that my friend from Hong Kong had purchased last year. I was told that the key had been destroyed, because it had not been collected. Even though I pointed out that my friend had not been able to collect the key in person since she lives in HK and there has been a global pandemic, hence her being prohibited from traveling. I was met with a repeated response of “it’s company policy”. I contacted my friend who had sent the authorisation email to both myself and Haarts that I could collect the key when personally allowed to travel (I live 2 hrs away), and she nor I had ever received any correspondence informing us that the key would be destroyed. To gain access to the property I had to get a locksmith, which cost over £200.This matter needs following up and my friend in HK will be seeking reimbursement. In my view this company did not practice due diligence and did not complete the sale properly. Zero customer care.

Edit: Got a call today from them in response to leaving this review. They told me they had listened back to a call I had with them and accused me of providing different information to that on this review, which isn't true. Very confrontational and unprofessional staff member, who herself misrepresented what I've put in this review. The original is below, unedited. Tried to arrange a viewing for a property but was told I was a greater covid risk if I didn't have my current property in an immediate position to sell. Complete nonsense. I could even choose to rent out my current property when I buy a new one instead of selling it, so I shouldn't be pressured by an estate agent to list it on the market just to go to a viewing. Maybe this is the real reason houses are selling better during covid, cos estate agents are still the vicious snakes they always are and know how to manipulate the situation for business.

Haart dealt with my late mothers house sale a couple of years ago which was a stressful time for me, but they made the process a lot less painful.
