I wish i had listened to advice given before moving into a student house that was managed by City Properties. Without going into too much, there were numerous mould issues that were never truly sorted, issues with heating (which was fully controlled by City Properties) and we felt that nearly every other issue was just forgotten about with the intention of just passing it on to the next group of student tenants that would move in. Of course you don't expect luxury in a student home but the level of care given from City Properties was just unbelievably poor. A sub-standard home and renting experience. One positive was their maintenance staff, Paddy, who was always very helpful when contacted directly, rather than through the letting agent!

Absolutely the worst estate agents you could go for. Wish I had done more research before going with these guys but please do yourself a favour and stay far away. There’s no communication, they completely ignore you for any property related issues, and they are downright disrespectful. I’ve had such a stressful time being a tenant and I wish I went with someone else. We’ve had countless problems in this house and they don’t address a single one.

Racist and dishonest service

Racist and exploitative dishonest experience. Was racist to housemates on asking for basic features like heating ("maybe you dont understand this where you're from"). Wrote a hilariously poor self contradicting contract. Promised to pay bills & then asked for final months bills extra (awful boiler and insulation).

Think carefully before renting with City Property. My experience was extremely stressful from start to finish- communication was poor, issues were ignored, and the deposit process felt unfair and unclear. Speaking with other students in Derry, it seems this isn’t an isolated case. In my opinion, this company does not treat tenants fairly. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a more transparent and professional letting agent.

If I could give no stars i would! Steal money from students and never follow through with promises. Didn’t have a kitchen table for the whole two years of living at the property. Wont give deposits back because we used £9 of electricity per week per person.
